I am creating a diceless RPG set in a world of dark fantasy. I am doing this on a whim since one night when I was up drawing I had this idea for a simplistic system that allows for heavy story interaction between the players and the, in this case, Narrator. I thought that it would be a good way to develop the history of the world and a multitude of key events that would be written into the story/graphic novel I am getting up to confidence to start. It's also a way to gain some experience with the characters in the story and develop the breath of life that a creator gives his children. It will give them a chance to speak and to tell me their story. Also, I thought it might be nice to have someone to bounce ideas off of. I can't really give a great description of what the story is about. It lives somewhere between epic and ephemeral. That is to say I have lots of ideas on paper but there is a universe being born in my mind.

I would be truly grateful for the assistance of anyone willing to allow me to bounce ideas off of.

Before you make a decision to grant me the gift of your attention I must restate what I said earlier. This is dark fantasy. Some of the ideas are pretty frightening when you let them sink in a bit but, it has a neat side effect. As the ideas sink in deeper the fear begins to dissipate until you come to the realization that it was only ever an illusion anyway.

Happy that progress is happening. it feels to slow to me but I've really made a lot of improvements in reacquainting myself with drawing over the past month so I will keep my attention there. I made a commitment that i am not going to compare myself to anyone else. There are reasons that I may decide to put into words in a later journal.. but it is better that way =3

Recently there have been things that have happened in my life that have caused me to look with disdain on the old face of my avatar. Don't get me wrong.. I still like him.. but I am not him. The name & the history of the character are replete with negative context. The definition of the word that his name is drawn from is unflattering. Wastrel was a drifter; lacking direction, focus, and foresight. I no longer am.

Suffice it to say so many things about my personal character have changed in such a rapid fashion that the otter mage of old has gotten to be an uncomfortable fit.

But isn't irritating when you watch an artist and all they are doing is using they're FA site to promote their paid site? I can understand using an art site to drum up business for commissions but It irks the shit outta me when people use a site like this advertise their personal pay site, comic, or whatever without posting any actual art besides "teasers". It's an ART site. Post art. I'm all for marketing on the description of an image but just stop using the site if ALL you are using it for is to pad yours.

Should I post them?

So I'm going on my first anniversary getaway with my pup. We've been together three years now and, though things are not always easy, every year has been more rewarding than the last. It's a joy to grow with someone that you love. And this year we're renting a cabin in the woods where we can do whatever we want!

I wanted our first actual getaway to be something special so I suggested something I had been wanting to do for a while and simply never had the opportunity. My puppy will be a puppy, mitts, collar, dog bowl, all fours, toys, and the rest for an entire day. This will be the first time I have tested my ability to do this but I believe that I can do it for him and for myself. I know he has always wanted the chance to do something like this as well. Also.. outdoor smexxins! I'm looking forward to this because I know I love fucking outdoors. My puppy, he hasn't had the experience, so he is exceptionally excited. Of course there will be other activities as well.. cuddling, hot tubbing, bondage..

Oh yeah, didn't mention that at first. Today is the prep day. I am getting the ropes all prepped and the ends dipped for a nice clean appearance and ropes that won't fray. The PlastiDip is sitting next to me.. open.. being used to mark the various lengths with an inch strip to avoid fray on the initial cut. Then dip, dry, pack. Neatly bound little bunch of ropes taht can be used to thoroughly disable my dog and allow for whatever use I like.

We'll also be hitting a michellin star restaurant called the Applewood Inn while up there. Mostly though I will cooking the food we eat.

So anyway, I'm happy! This is awesome and is one of the only awesome things I have had to post in a long while so I am sharing!

Okay.. so before I wasn't posting because I thought my art looked like crap and I couldn't focus for more than 10 minutes on anything. Now... it feels like I have decided that every detail must be right... Heh. Gotta draw the line somewhere or I am never gonna post anything ever again.

Been in this mood to draw lately and haven't possessed the focus to do so for a long time. I'm outta pradctice for sure.. but would anyone like to draw with me?

I'm sure no one actually reads these but i now have a new found love for a particular type of massage. I never would have believed how effective trigger point massage work was if I didn't use it on myself. I've had this soreness in my shoulder that has been making me cranky for .. oh.. months at least. I've started to study different types of massage in order to assist my broken pup in living a happy life and I figured I might as well test it on myself as well. Certain types don't lend to self experimentation very easily but we decided to buy a Theracane for this purpose and it works marvelously well. I managed top get one of the three trigger points in my shoulder, I know there are three because i can feel the small knots and the pinpoint pain that goes with them (along with referred pain.. but that's a different story), to release. It felt soooooooooooooooooooooooo good. I swear it was just as good as sex to get one of those nodules to let go. My entire shoulder started to loosen up when it let go.

Anyway, I don't want to bore you guys and I haven't been very prolific art wise so have a good day. Just thought I would share a good experience.

Yeah.. I know I haven't been active. In order to remedy this I am going to do one free sketch a week. The conditions are simple. I get free reign on what I draw after being provided with a description, or character dossier. In other words, the only way you get the sketch is to be the first person to reply to this journal entry with a description, image, etc.. and a personality profile. Nothing else.

It's an exercise to improve my motivation. I make no promises of quality since this is an excuse to get more practice in and an attempt to improve my skills.

This may be a one time a week thing for a while so if you are interested in a free sketch then be on the lookout in coming weeks.

Seriously. Friends are very interesting sometimes. One of mine is getting me a scanner. Just out of the blue because mine has broken for a couple years. Looks like I can finally get some of those scans in my sketchbook to the people that drew them. Also.. I don't know how to thank someone for a gift like that. He won't take a free commission.

So I guess I just want to say thanks and share the news of this stroke of good fortune in a time where I really need things to keep me going.

So once I get that, if there is any interest, I can do that whole 100 sketches thing for liek 5-10 bucks a sketch. Money couldn't hurt and neither could the practice, right?

Just that. i think I missed something.

First of all, let's get this straight. i am not a fan of doing commissions. I'm usually slow and have myself to complete them. However, I am jobless at the moment and time is coming down to a place where I will not be getting unemployment either. I am attempting to set things up so that i can go to school and learn some sort of career but that may take a little while. Summer courses are sort of limited.

The point here is that i am thinking about taking commissions. Just a few at a time perhaps. I don't really know what to charge. I am out of practice and somewhat slow. If you are interesting please send me a note and we can discuss it.

Guess that's it. Asked my boyfriend to keep on my ass about completing these things.

I am so out of practice and so out of inspiration. Haven't been working for a year now and is really doing a number on my ability to be creative. Is anyone interested in doing some drawing with an out of practice otter?
