December meet Recap and Charity donations
Posted 12 years agoAt the December meet we discussed as the monthly charity the Angel Tree program thru the Salvation Army. We chose 1 boy and 1 girl from the tree and had stated that donations would be gathered by the 16th. Unfortunately the date to donate was the eleventh so taking the money previously donated at the meet and Hodari and wolf2Tails raiding their mad money accounts we set off to get the donations made by the due date. Pictures are currently being posted on the WFACM page and Hodaris' page as well. Joe Wolf had kindly offered to do art for the top donator and mug to the second place donor. Since we could not wait until the 16th as planned for everyone to donate we are asking that you make donations to the January charity (TBA soon). It was also decided to ask Joe wolf to redo the WFACM logo in exchange for the offer to do art for the top donor and the WFACM will be having shirts made for all those in attendance at the next meet (january). Hodari will be taking names and sizes for the T- shirts at the next meet and we hope to have the shirts by the February meet. As always we are striving to make the fandom be shown in a more positive light. We want to thank all of you who attend the meets and for all that you do. blessed be.... see you in January.

Posted 12 years agoAs the meet for November got canceled, we are moving up the meet for December to the 1st Sunday. This should avoid complications with the party conflicting with other parties held later in the month. The meet will return to the 3rd Sunday in January.
We are going to have a white elephant / snitch Christmas exchange. If you would like to participate please bring a wrapped gift of $10-$20.
There will also be door prizes.
As usual the meet starts at 5 and goes till 8p there will be a movie night at 2Tails’ place on Hodari’s Giant TV. Popcorn and soda provided.

Posted 12 years agoWell another WFACM is over and aside from being somewhat crowed. We had a great time.
The dragon head went to a well deserving young man. The Charity to which the proceeds go to will be announced.
We have a new item to raffle off at the October meet. We’ll announce the item in the coming days. Also we plan on making this a regular thing, to offer a Raffle for charity each month. Next month is to be decided as yet. Any donations?
We had a record attendance with a return of some furs not seen in Wichita Falls in quite some time. To them we like to say “Welcome back, Hope to see you again next month.”
We have more ideas how to better the community and what we can do for it.
We have also discussed appointing an organizer or committee, to help get things done.
A new venue still needs to be decided. We’re still open to ideas, Please share.

First: We’re changing venue. August and maybe September we will be meeting at WoLf 2Tails place while we discuss a new permanent venue. Pleas note and we will send directions and address.
2nd: Time of meet would moving the meet to early on Saturday be something we would like to try? Or just on the third Sunday? Or keep our current time frame?
3rd After the Arts/Crafts meet do we want to have a movie night?
Bring snacks if you’d like some will be provided on 2Tails limited budget. Any one have a theater style popcorn popper?
4th: the weather will be turning cooler towards the end of September and beginning of October; we would like to propose a camp out. What does every one think?
5th: As well in august we will hold the drawing for the Dragon head raffle. Remember the funds go to the charity of the winner’s choice.

WIP Dragon head Raffle for charity.
Posted 12 years agoWFACM is having a Raffle for a Dragon Head the funds to go to a local Charity [of the winners choice]
It needs some TLC but would make a great head for some scaley out there.
The horns are set with Velcro so they can be detached for easy transport.
The Base is Canvas.
We are Selling tickets at $1 each. If you buy online VIA WoLf-n-Critter’s PayPal we will record your info on the ticket and give you your number.
The drawing is scheduled to be held at The Next WFACM we plan to have skype for those who can not physically attend.
The Drawing will be by Random.com the screen shots will be posted shortly after the drawing.

There is word that El Diablo’s is changing their hours again the 2nd sat meet, when it is moved to the 1st weekend may move back there leaving, 3rd sun at Fuzzy’s.

IronArtist Contest?
Posted 12 years agoWho would be interested in a Iron Artist tourney?
We have come up with plan to do a multi challenge Iron Artist contest.
Each challenge will be progressively more difficult.
All active contestants will critique others submissions; In addition 4 judges that are not competing will add their critique.
As planned the tourney will begin June 1st and end on July 13.
WoLf2Tails has donated a 9x12 graphics tablet to be added to grand prize.
Wolf.n.Critters Is donating many smaller prizes.
We are still seeking Donations.
Cash Donations will be all donated to the winner’s charity of choice.
As well we are seeking feed back, on the issue of an entry fee. All fees would be added to the donation pool, if taken.

Posted 12 years agoOk we trying for a meet on the third sunday meet starting this month.
Who's Intrested?
As of right now we do not have reservations at fuzzy's But 2Tails will be calling to establish them later today. We'll keep you posted.
Now this meet is still a open arts/crafts meet, so same rules.
You dont have to be an artist.
The meet will bew later in the day if it can be managed and 3-4 hours as well. [We're still seeking imput on this as well]
Possibly starting arroung 5pm and going through 8pm.
If this meet takes root the 2nd sat a/c meet will be moved to the 1st weekend. [More to be discussed in upcomming Meets]

Now this meet is still a open arts/crafts meet, so same rules.
You dont have to be an artist.
The meet will bew later in the day if it can be managed and 3-4 hours as well. [We're still seeking imput on this as well]
Possibly starting arroung 5pm and going through 8pm.
If this meet takes root the 2nd sat a/c meet will be moved to the 1st weekend. [More to be discussed in upcomming Meets]

We had a great time, last month, with a lot of face we had not seen in a while.
And Even as far away as OKC.

The internet works just fine; though, the power outlets are hard to reach they are there.
The food is suprizingly good and the room is private. there is plenty of tables to sit and work, chat, and eat at.
Im suggesting we start a comunity chest. 2Tails has provided some cheep pencils, markers and a bit of copy paper to put in the Comunity Chest. Any one is welcome to bring any thing to put in the chest.

New Year New venue for WFACM
Posted 13 years agoLast month we found that Diablos changed their hours to close at 2:30p cutting out time short.
It had been discussed in the past to at least tryout Fuzzy’s Tacos .
So for the first meet of 2013 we are goin g to meet at Fuzzy’s on the 12th of January from 2-4.

On Oct 13th we will be having the WichitaFalls arts/Crafts Meet at ElDiablo burritos
The weather should be cooperating enough for Photoshoot before and/or after, the meet.
I will have a item there to show off a flingin time. Working on finishing it over the next few days. Will be doing some zeroing in in the time before the meet. Want to help be a target, I mean a helper PM me.

Each month we hav this arts and crafts meet.
An ongoing topic is the discussion of the public view and how numbers of our own fandom give the wrong impression. And what we can do about it.
The next months meet will be Sept 8th 2-4pm
We are discussing having a photoshoot in the cool of the morn that saturday.
