What was your favorite food as a kid?
Well, the first food I can remember thinking of as my favourite was a rack of lamb. But when I was really young, my parents owned a buffet-style restaurant, and I think the thing I ate most regularly would be their crumbed squid rings.

What was the first food you learned how to cook from a package?
Tomato soup, the powdered stuff from a packet.

What was the first food you learned how to cook from scratch?
If you don't count mashed potato, then probably my Mum's recipe for Eazy Peasy Lasagna.

How did you discover that you had a "passion" for cooking?
To be honest, I haven't really been cooking for fun until quite recently. Up until a few years ago it was more just a necessity. It really helps having a partner who is into cooking, too :)

What do you remember about cooking and food from your childhood?
Helping mum and the grandparents make gingerbread, licking the beaters when they've been whipping cream, and so on.

What are your favorite foods?
Hmm, that's a tough one. So many! I love Mexican, Indian, stuff with a lot of spice and flavour. But then I also really like a nice simple soup, or bangers-n-mash.

What foods do you dislike?
Brussel sprouts. Not a fan of broccoli unless it has cheese sauce.

What food is a guilty pleasure for you?
Domino's pizza with the triple-cheese crust :/

Do you have any food allergies?
Nope

Are you omnivore, vegetarian, vegan, etc? Why?
Omnivore. No particular reason.

Don't eat rabbit, for obvious reasons. Friends, not food! :P

Nope, probably won't either. Cooking for me is more of a hobby.

Nope

Favorite food to make?
Hmm. Probably lamb rogan josh. Cooking the spices makes the most awesome smells. Either that, or Waffles of Insane Greatness.

What ingredients do you use most often? Or, what could you never imagine cooking without?
Garlic. Garlic is awesome!

What kind of knives do you use? What's your preferred knife (style, length, etc.)?
The only good quality knife I have is a (fairly expensive) chef's knife I was given when I started flatting. That knife is great. Aside from that, just whatever we have in the drawer. Usually from those cheap knife sets from the Warehouse.

What would you like to learn how to cook?
More Indian food. I have yet to find a good recipe for any indian dish, except the rogan josh.

What's your favorite restaurant? What do you order?
Heh well that depends what I'm in the mood for. I am very tempted, though, to say Pasha (a kebab shop down south). Mixed kebab with halep and special sauce.

Do you like TV chefs? Who's your favorite personality/show?
Don't really watch TV.

What advice would you give to someone who's just starting out learning how to cook?
Well, you need to find your style. I can work from a recipe, but I'm not so good at just chucking stuff together and having it work. So I'd find a good recipe, and then if you want, vary one thing at a time, and see if it improves it.

Ok, so I hardly ever use my FA journal. Just a quick question to ask anyone:

Anyone find any good high-res furry art for use as a wallpaper/desktop background? I have a pretty large, high-res display (2560x1440) and a lot of furry art just doesn't display so well at that size. I mean, I would happily pay $5 or $10 for a nice high-res background image or two, but I can't seem to find any.
