Once again, the following is my opinion.



In a nation where the offended control the popular media and what is or isn't "okay". I think people need to be given a bit of hassle every now and then. Everyone needs to question their own personal values and whether they are based in reality or built on lies, deception and fear mongering. They deserve to interact with people who don't think the same as them and who don't offer them an echo chamber to magnify their indignation. Hiding from alternative ideas/opinions will only harm you and society as a whole because you will never fully understand anyone who has beliefs different from your own.

Discourse is necessary in life in order for there to be progress.

If we all think the same then we will stagnate. If opposing opinions are stifled there will be nobody to point out our flaws. If we attempt to suppress the people's right to say what they think, or refuse to say what someone else wants them to say.. that is controlling the language of our country. And that isn't okay. Policing what people can/can't say is a gross violation of our rights. REQUIRING people to use specific terminology because you don't like the words they use is also wrong.

Vitriol, hate, and claiming offense have no real place in a political debate. As soon as you claim "I'm offended!" you're pulling the victim card and that is almost as bad as throwing ad hominem statements. It clearly indicates that you are no longer interested in conversation and instead are trying to throw the entire debate.

You have the power to choose if you're offended or not. Use it wisely.

We are -almost- entirely moved in, and between work that's all I've been able to do the last few weeks.
Hell, I haven't really even been able to do doodles here and there for myself.

We're moved in my dad's back house now, but it's a mess here and we still have to finish cleaning
out the things in the apartment between the trash and the last few things we want to bring over.

I'm working on getting more overnight shifts because they give me more time to myself.
I still need a laptop, but once I have a decent laptop I should be able to work on my commissions a bit while I'm at work.
I've been working 50-60 hour weeks on the average, this is why I've been having difficulties with delivering.
The house I'm working at is finally okay on staffing, but we're basically covering another house's ass because they're shortstaffed.

My job has essentially been fucking my ass and the free time that I DO get I like to take advantage of to de-stress myself. I'm sure all of you know how hard it is to come home from doing copious amounts of overtime, only to face more work that needs done. Just wanted to say I'm sorry to my 3 commissioners that I currently have commissions for, I know at least one of you has been in contact with me and knows that my situation is far from ideal. The boyfriend and I are just trying to work things out and whatnot so that I have more time for getting the art work finished and maybe he'll be able to get a part time job or something so that not everything hinges on me having this job and working 50+ hours a week.

I'm trying to brainstorm for a monster OC.
trying to think of different things that are monstrous.

I'm especially interested in things that you think are offbeat or things you don't think there are enough of.
Things like extra eyes, extra arms, etc, are stuff I see all the time, and when alone aren't particularly monstrous.

(although I do love things like extra eyes and a second pair of arms)

I want something like a monster girl, but I want the 'monster' part to be a bit more present than usual.

Some of the people who draw the cutest, sweetest and most adorable art
are actually some of the saddest and most heartbroken people I've ever seen.

I can't really say "met" because I haven't met most of them. Just an observation.
Like these people who are so sweet and draw the most uplifting adorable art that makes me smile
have such surprisingly deep and dark emotions hiding inside and it breaks my heart.

And on that note.. SpectrumBeat draws some of the most adorable art and she's having a rough time of things right now.
I guess you could say she sort of inspired this thought process, since she's such a genuinely sweet person with gorgeous art and beautiful designs.
But it's not her alone that inspired this, it just sort of made me think of how so many people who draw adorable art have an undeserved rough time of things.

I guess in that case I'm opening myself up for observation too.
I suppose I fall somewhere in the middle of the spectrum.
I won't say I don't have my own issues, and I have days where it's hard to do anything but languish in a sludge pit of misery and dark thoughts.

But I don't feel like it's out of my control (most of the time).
I don't have the money to get the help that I think I need, so I'm coping how I can and trying to keep myself busy.

I know so many people talk about their own problems in their journals and on the internet and I never really
want this to be the place where I air my dirty laundry and my own personal issues because well, it's personal.
And it's not really stuff that I think other people should have to deal with outside of myself and Lynx-Foxx .
I don't want to make other people feel uncomfortable because of my own thoughts and feelings on subjects,
especially things that may be controversial or contradict commonly accepted ideas in this neck of the woods.

I have issues. Just like everyone else.
I guess that's really all there is to it.

Things are shitty, but we make do.
We always have.

Alright, just so as a general notice...

I had an interview yesterday.
Had my second interview today.

And I've PRETTY MUCH GOT THE JOB.

It's an in-home care position in a house of high-functioning ladies. My supervisor kept reassuring me that the job is incredibly easy and for the most part it's
basically like hanging out and just making sure the girls aren't doing anything they shouldn't. Mostly described it like being in a house full of teenagers.

After 30 days she said she'll start cross-training me in the different homes she runs so that I can pick up hours where I need them.
The position does NOT pay a lot, but the benefits package that comes with it is pretty damn good. I'll have DENTAL for once, holy sheet.

I already know my hours, I'll be working 32 hours a week Thursday through Sunday,
not including any extra hours and overtime if I decide to pick those up.

They called up my references today, and coming up on the 22nd is when training week starts.
I've gotta get a lot of certifications and stuff in order to help these people the best I can.

Sometimes I'm absolutely infuriated by how content the majority of people are to just take things at face value and not try to understand the hidden underside of things and their inner workings. I feel that we can learn a whole lot about humanity, society, and ourselves by evaluating commonly-accepted beliefs and practices.

I recently spoke out about how objectifying the "Save the Ta-tas" / "I <3 Boobies" campaign really is on an image's comment section. And people continuously told me to essentially shove off and 'stop being triggered'. I'm not triggered. Why does making an honest, deep analysis to understand something immediately mean that I have to be upset or 'triggered' by it? Why does expressing my thoughts about a campaign that so obviously sexualizes women's bodies immediately mean I'm an SJW. Is this one of those cases where "the ends justifies the means"?

I full-heartedly believe the campaign is doing a lot of good and giving a lot of help to women who have survived or are suffering breast cancer.
But I still stand firm that it's also perpetuating detrimental and potentially painful stereotypes of beauty and objectification of women's breasts.

This page explains my stances better than I probably ever could, with several sources it pulls from.

I try to place myself in the shoes of someone who has maybe had a mastectomy, or potentially double mastectomy, to constantly be slapped in the face with sexualized imagery, this enforcement that people only support breast cancer because "I <3 Boobies", inflating the value of breasts. I'm already self-conscious. I'd be even more self-conscious with this focus on 'saving' my breasts when they're already gone.

I spoke to lynx-foxx about it and he admitted that he didn't even know "I <3 Boobies" had anything to do with breast cancer awareness. He just thought it was something that young guys were wearing just to be silly/vulgar.
Which honestly is most likely the reason many of them were. The idea of 'getting away' with wearing a wristband or shirt that proclaims their love for parts of the female body..

I know that I honestly have no right to speak on this subject as I have limited experience with breast cancer, as I've never had it.
I can only speak from my perspective as a woman, and how I think I would feel if I were in the situation.
