Yeah, the 4th was my birthday. I am now 26. I am now officially closer to 30 than 20.

Motherfucker, I was AT the Challenger shuttle disaster (I was two years old, to be fair)

But yeah, thanks to  seagullprophet I had a kick-ass time of a B-day. We hung out at the OKC Zoo for a few hours (first time I'd been there in 16 some-odd years), then after some dinner and dicking around Toys-R-Us, had a nice night of Guinness at the local pub. All-and-all, a sweet-ass birthday was had. Probably one of the better ones I've had in recent years :P

... Ah, the standard furry fall-back contingency for emergency income. Though to be fair, I'd been considering it lately, just to give myself more things to work on (since I can almost never finish anything I 'draw for myself').

But, no until I can find a better paying job, I'm going to need some extra cash. See, Tara's kennel costs are about to double, going from about $350, to $680-ish a month. Between insurance ($350ish every other month), and a god-knows how expensive impending auto-repair bill, my $600-700ish/month paychecks arn't going to cover it.

This leaves me right rather fucked.

So, until I get the car running again and can schmooze either a better paying/second job, I need some extra money flow.

I'm opening three slots, maybe more if I have enough takers. I know some folks out there got bumped from previous open slots (this is why I didn't take payment up front), and if you're still interested you'll go to the top of the list.

Let me explain: When I'm between projects (or stuck on a current one), I get a bug up my ass to work on this spaceship-based pen & paper RPG combat system I've been toying with for a while now.

And between plotting out stats, and rolls, and rules, and other boring shit, I draw little half-symmetrical spaceships to use in it (I mean, I draw a straight line, and draw half the ship, that way I can flip it and it be symmetrical).

My designs are, weird. Or, campy space-opera. I can't tell.

What kind of spaceships do YOU guys like?!

Gothic steel scrap-metal lumbering dark noir leviathans alla Alien (or anything out of the late 70's-80's), or the Minmatar from Eve?

Smooth, sleek, ultra-tech, shiny vessels that look like Steve Jobs designed 'em?

Nnnnng *blink* Got back from Furry Fiesta yesterday afternoon. Still don't feel like I'm caught up on sleep, and I got a little con crud a brewin' in my nose-holes.

But, y'know? At the end of it all everything this weekend was worth it ^.^

Had a -=blast=- hosting my art panels! Had  rinzy help me out with the canine one. This fellow, knows his art theory. I doodled, he doodled, and he did most of the talking :P The avian panel, I almost flopped due to a lack of sleep/food/mana, but emergency Monster NRG drink via  seagullprophet saved the day, and folks REALLY seemed to learn some stuff! *squee* As for the adult panel, well... There was giggling :P Lots of giggling. Also: clit-nipples.

Met lots of cool folks and drank excessively. ... So, pretty much any con for me.


It's gonna take me -days- to recuperate, but honestly don't think I'll have PCD from this. My spirits are just too high right now ^.^

Heading out in the morning. Gonna eat some CATFISH between here and there, and arrive sometime in the afternoon.

Alright, all those fans of mine (all three of you)... If anyone here's attending Furry Fiesta, I have TWO, yes count 'em TWO art panels I'm hosting during the con, and another I'm co-hosting.

Firstly, on Saturday at 3 pm I'll be hosting a Canine Anatomy panel (PG rated). I know, canines are rather prolific, but I figure some comparative notes between wolves, foxes, and dogs, along with some general anatomy, and things like feet, paws, and nose pads would help out some folks.

Secondly, on Saturday at 8 pm I'll be co-hosting an Adult Anatomy panel (XXX, bitches). I dunno, we're calling it something else, but it'll still be at 8 pm :P Even if you're not terribly interested, if it's anything like last year's panel, it'll be more like a furry vaudville skit with knots and barbs than an 'art panel' ^.^ We'll be talking animal-junk. Always a good laugh!

Lastly, but not leastly, Sunday morning at 11 am I'll be hosting an AVIAN PANEL!!! I'll be going over a lot of aspects of avian anatomy (PG rated, sorry. Stop by the Adult panel and I'll draw you some vents ;P). So I expect EVERY SINGLE BIRD TO BE THERE! Still drunk from the night before? Haven't slept yet? SHOW UP ANYWAYS!!!

Yeah, with the lag/upload flood going on, I'm not gonna upload for a couple days. There should be a new Birdsongs, along with a porn pic or two! Woo-nelly!

So yeah, on the art-side of the con this year, I had a god-damn blast.

As I mentioned elsewhere, I'm done with my old, grainy colored pencil badges. They always just seemed, "Eh". Even if I did sell 'em quick 'cause... Like... They were cheap. But I TOTALLY got to do several watercolor badges this year, and I was super-psyched with how they turned out! Hopefully the word will spread, and I can do more online commissions, and make up the costs of attending cons like I did this year ^.^

One of the other things I offered at the con were "Grapefruit Badges", essentially I brought my tattoo gear with me, along with a bag of grapefruit. $5 and I'd tattoo you onna piece of citrus. Sadly, I had no takers on this. While it is a rather transient medium, fruit, I was hoping the novelty would sell, along with the extra added protection against H1N1 and con-crud when you got hungry :P Maybe if I'd actually bothered to set up an example, or even better, just start inking right there in the Ally, it would've stirred more interest :P

The couple art trades I did were fun as well. Especially with fellow crossdressing avian  drakky :P Sorry for the couple of ya I never got to.


BIRDSONGS, I am totally drawin' the next strip, which should be up tonight or tomorrow. It seems I have misplaced the old carry-sized sketchbook I jotted down all my character 'cheat sheets' in 2-3 years ago (moving repeatedly does that, it's in a box somewhere I'm sure). It's mostly just color doodles I made for the plumage patterns/wing structures of some of the main characters' species. It's no biggie, just means I have to google references :P

Oh, and it's fantastic! Not only am I slowly remembering all the story arcs and crap from before, but I'm fitting shit together I wasn't able to years ago. No worries folks, in a couple weeks/month or two you'll start seeing our first blue/red bordered strips ;P I know that's the only reason anyone'll read it *pokepoke*

Mmmman, fuck. Finally back from the con.

I. Am. Exhausted.

That was one of, if not the, funnest convention to date.

I sat in Artist's Ally for a good hunk of the con, and broke $100 in commissions.

Made some new friends, including  drakky and his bud Fist,  Kegan_satori and his wife Shesta_Starblanket, and a few others. Hung out with folks I recognized, and folks I've known for awhile.

I finally got off my ass and did Predator and Prey this year, both rounds, and survived to the end of Round 2, tying with the only other living omnivore.

Even got to hang out some with  rikkanus afterwards who didn't get to go.

But, man. All in all a blast. Feelin' kinda weird/off now that I'm home. Dunno if it's PCD or what, but we'll see. My muse is revved up and ready to knock out some of those commissions I've been sitting on for a couple months. HOOAAH!

So, I finally did it.

I started the comic (with my character Timothy) I'd been planning for six-ish years.

This is, awesome.

I'm kind of sleepy.


Also, I'm a little surprised by the number of "Oklacon" journals I've seen in my in-box this year. We've always had a small-ish con here in this neck of the woods. Or, maybe I just have more local furs in my +watch list than I realized. O.o Either way, I'll see you folks there! Should be heading down Thurs evening.

AS THE SUBJECT SAYS!

I am now 25.

So, I somehow misplaced my blue draft pencil (aka, non-photo blue pencil).
Went to Hobby Lobby today to pick up a new one. Only one they had was Prismacolor.
So I got it... And it goes down like any other prisma: like a sharpened crayon.
Way too dark for my tastes, and it does not erase well :(

Can anyone recommend a brand that goes down light and erases well? I can make do with this one 'til I can order a better one online or what-have-you...

Came home from work with a bag full of grapefruit.

Got my gun all set up.

Did a few (almost) straight lines, some circles, a crappy flower, and I wrote "Penis".

SUCCESS!!!

It arrived in the mail today! Look out grapefruit! Mwahahaha.
