Happy Friendship Day!
Posted 11 years ago...Because why should only people with a significant other (or two or three) get to have all the fun today? :D
I was pretty productive today. Got several pictures drawn, got some exercise in, swept the kitchen/dining room that we never use area, and read a chapter for a thing I'm doing with my mom. It's been a pretty darn good day!
Also, Dad brought chocolate milk home with him. I have the best of fathers.
Happy Valentine's / Friendship Day, everybody!

Down to the Last Few
Posted 12 years agoHi, y'all!
So, I've been working on request stuff and am nearly done with my old list. Huzzah! When I've finished, I'll take requests again, though no more than three for folks on here and three for people over on dA. I don't want to overload myself again. That wasn't a good idea.
Having a short request list will also make it easier to divide up my time between personal projects and requests. Plus everyone gets their request done faster, so everybody wins!
Btw, does anyone know what happened to MixUp? I don't have a ref for their character Draw, so I can't actually draw their request.
Currently working on:
a shiny absol and a shiny luxray cuddling (hornyabsol) sketch done
Blew (blewraspberry wolf) sketch done
Request List:
1. OC gathering potion ingredients in the Everfree Forest (centaurlord)
*. Draw being chased by kuriboh, winged kuriboh, winged kuriboh lvl 9, and winged kuriboh lvl 10 (MixUp)

Happy Belated New Year!
Posted 12 years agoI realized today how long it's been since I last made a new journal entry, so I figured I'd go ahead and make one now.
If you've been wondering, yes, I am still working on requests! I haven't forgotten them. I know it's been a terribly long time since I accepted them, and I'm sorry. Real life was kinda stressful and hectic for a while and then I had a bunch of computer issues to deal with so I haven't had much of a chance until recently to work on anything art related.
But! All that is finally taken care of. Well, the laptop's fan is still making a weird sound from time to time, but the laptop itself doesn't seem to be overheating and I've been cleaning out the fan as best I can regularly, so hopefully it won't be an issue. Other than that, everything's working about as well as it ever has.
For anyone who's been wondering if I've abandoned my old pikachu comic, I'm still working on that. It's been slow going, but I am making progress, bit by bit. It and a few other projects are all kind of competing for my attention at the same time. However, I've got no intention of giving up on it. So, please continue to be patient with me on that.
I'm not sure there's really much else to say for the time being other than I hope everyone's doing well and having a great new year!

requests
Posted 12 years agoWell, some folks do have requests, so I'm open for drawing stuff for you guys and gals. The request list is kinda long right now, so I'm going to close this for a bit to get some of the requests already on the list done. When it's back down to five, I'll consider whether I want to open it back up or not.
Request List:

7. OCs kissing in the rain (Pineapple Breeze)(dA)
8. Arcus doing anything on a cloud in Cloudsdale (rdconrardy)(dA)

ponies and distractions
Posted 12 years agoSo me and Dad went to Space City Con this year and saw Mr. de Lancie's panel where the subject of the brony documentary came up, and today Dad decided he wanted to watch an episode or two and see what all the hub-bub was about. Since Discord is easily the best character on the show (well, he's my favorite, anyway) and his va was the only Dad probably would recognize, i decided to just jump straight into season two's opening two-parter. Although I heard a small snicker or snort or two from dad through the first part of the first episode, I wasn't sure that dad was much enjoying the show (i didn't realize how exposition heavy celestia's dialogue was until seeing it again) until the mane six stepped into the maze and dad laughed and said, "Okay, I can see the appeal."
It was really nice to, for once, have dad laughing with me about the show instead of at the mere idea of the show having older fans. Sadly, I wasn't sure which episode to go to next after the first two with discord (since the third one with him in it isn't one of the better ones, unfortunately(which isn't to say i don't like it, because i do)) since I haven't watched any of the episodes in a while, so we went on to watch lesson zero, and dad wound up looking up voice actor info partway through and didn't really laugh much at all during the episode.
Oh well. At least dad won't automatically make fun of those of use who like the show and aren't eight-year-old girls any more (or who weren't ever eight-year-old girls). He's also interested in watching the brony documentary, so I'll have to see if I can't find it on netflix or amazon prime videos. I've been interested in watching it, too, since I first heard of it a while back.
Although I have requests to finish and get started on, I keep getting ideas for pictures, stories, and games, like always. Any time I have things I'm supposed to be doing, I always seem to suddenly get hit with more inspiration than I know what to do with. I figure the best thing to do is compromise and work on a little of the requests and then a little of whatever else I'm getting ideas for. Thus far it seems to be working, especially when I'm stuck waiting for a reply / approval from the people who made the requests.
What do you do when you've got something you're supposed to be working on then get hit with a great idea?

Drawing Smut and Critters
Posted 12 years agoFunny how when you have one thing to draw, you want to draw something completely different. While I am waiting to hear back from one of the people I'm doing a request for over on dA, I've kept wanting to draw porn instead of work on their request. My imagination confuses me sometimes.
I've also rediscovered the simple joy of drawing imaginary creatures, making them up as I go along. Thus far I've made five of them, the three uploaded here and two more in my sketchbook. There's something wonderful about drawing these little creatures that I simply can't get enough of.
Not that this means that I'm going to be drawing porn of my little critters.
...Probably.

submission stuff and comic on hiatus
Posted 12 years agoI dunno if it's something a lot of people are having to deal with or if it's just my own bad luck, but I seem to be having a problem with updating submissions. The file I see when I click on the fifth page of my comic is the old version, rather than the new version which I've tried to update it to several times today. I guess it may just be taking a while to appear in the system.
In other news, my comic is going to be on hiatus while I get all the necessary writing and other bits done. Sorry about that. I made a mistake in starting off by drawing the comic rather than taking the time to write the story and get a feel for the characters and other important stuff like that. For now, I'll be uploading the story as I write it, so for those of you who enjoy reading, you have that to look forward to.

exhaustion
Posted 12 years agoI really have to try and not rush to get something done at the last minute. It's just too exhausting. From now on I need to spread my work out more so I don't end up feeling like I'm going to fall over and/or be sick.
Anyway, there are two pages this week because I'm an idiot and forgot to upload last week's page last week! I hope you enjoy them.
I'd love to have something more interesting to say, but I don't. I'm tired, guys. I'm going to bed.

Emotional Art
Posted 12 years agoI've been trying to incorporate my feelings into my art more. So whatever I'm feeling, I try to turn it into a picture. Tired, angry, and craving physical affection are what I've done so far.
I decided to be smart about doing this week's page and have spread the work out over the week. Sketched it early on, fixed the panels the next day, then I ended up doing the lineart and most of the coloring yesterday. Just a little more work and it'll be ready for uploading come this Sunday. Been working on the writing/story, too. Although I know all the major plot points, I'm still working on adding more and more details. The first chapter is, of course, my focus at the moment what with it being the part of the story I'm actually drawing and all.
Anyway, I hope everyone's having a great week. The weekend is practically upon us!

Commission Info
Posted 12 years agoIf you'd like to commission me, please contact me via note! But first...
**Please read the following Terms of Service:**
Digital Artwork: All commissioned pieces will be digital and created at 300 pixels per inch for printing purposes. If, for whatever reason, you want a piece with fewer pixels per inch just let me know and I will create your commission to fit your desire for a lower resolution.
Use of Finished Artwork: The artwork I provide is for personal use only. If you're interested in doing something commercial with the finished piece (for example, selling copies of it or items with the artwork on it), we will need to discuss this and come to an arrangement.
Email: You need to have an email account so that I can send you progress pictures, as well as the finished artwork. Alternatively, if you prefer, I will post the artwork on this site for you to download, then take it back down when you've finished.
Payment: I accept payment via PayPal. Please don't pay me until we've discussed your commission! I ask that you please pay half the full price of the final piece to me before I begin working, with the other half due upon receiving the finished artwork. If you aren't sure if you'll be able to afford the artwork when it's completed, I ask that you please wait to commission me until you are certain that you will be able to afford the finished piece. When you do pay for your art, please make your payment to fuyu.oleander@gmail.com and let me know ahead of time what your PayPal name is so that I know who the payment is from.
Canceling Your Commission: Should you decide to cancel your commission after I have started work on it, please be aware that I will keep a quarter of the full price of the final piece as compensation for the time and effort I have already put into working for you. If you change your mind and decide to cancel the commission before I have started working on it, then you will receive a full refund.
Waiting Period: How long you will have to wait to receive your finished artwork will depend upon the size of the finished piece, the degree of detail you have asked for, and where your piece is in the commissions list. Those who are higher up on the list have priority over those lower on the list, because those higher on the list commissioned their artwork sooner than those farther down the list. For a very rough estimate of how long it will take to receive your finished art, start with a week, then add one more for each person ahead of you on the list. It's unlikely you will have to actually wait that long, but it's better to overestimate than underestimate in this case. Feel free to request an actual estimate of when I think you can expect your commission to be finished at any time.
Progress Pictures: I will send you progress pictures at the sketch stage, the final lines stage, and the colored stage. In addition to these, please feel free to request a progress picture at any time. Please note me and/or send me an email if you'd like one. With each progress picture, I will ask you to review it and then notify me of any changes you'd like made before I continue. This is so that your artwork turns out as close to what you want it to be as possible.
If you do not wish to receive progress pictures via email, I'll be more than happy to post a single image in my scraps that will get updated as I make progress on your picture. I'll also delete this picture after you've seen it, if you'd prefer. The same goes for the finished image. I'll also be happy to re-post or resend the image for you, should you so desire.
Permission to Post Finished Artwork: It is up to you whether or not your finished piece will appear in any of my online art galleries. If I do post it, if you so desire, it will be at a lower resolution or smaller size than the actual finished artwork, and in certain cases will be censored.
Subject of Commission: I am willing to draw almost anything. Some of the things I am not willing to draw include, but are not limited to, hateful art (this is art which, to quote deviantART, "strongly implies and encourages violent acts against any ... individuals or groups"), vomit, feces, and any sort of fetish art which involves any of those things or children. Please do not ask for those sorts of things, as I will never even consider drawing them.
References and Details While you are not under any obligation to do so, providing references and details about what you would like me to draw, especially in the case of original characters, is greatly appreciated and will help me to create a better work of art for you.
Please see my Commission Info tab for information about prices.

Practice Practice
Posted 12 years agoIt's funny how, after regularly adding backgrounds to my art for a while, all my old art without backgrounds now mostly looks kind of empty. It's slowly getting to be the same with coloring, and I suspect that soon enough I'll be wondering why I didn't bother shading my earlier stuff. I guess it's just what happens as you get better at something.
Eat Draw Sleep Repeat
Posted 12 years agoBeen drawing so much lately. ♥ I'm very proud of how much my art has been improving as well. Had you asked me to make something like the airbrush shaded pic of Marble even half a year ago, I would've said there was no way I could possibly draw such a thing. No outline?! What is this madness?!!
On the final three requests now. Soon, I'll be able to focus just on my own stuff. Which is probably by and large going to continue being fanart. But also some original stuff, too. I really want to keep developing Marble's world and his friends and family and someday make a comic with them in it. Also more of Spring, the feathered serpent god, and more of the characters from their mythos.
And porn, too, I suppose. It's pretty fun to draw, after all. (Now that I can actually make it look like what I want. lol)

Lots of Fanart
Posted 12 years agoI've been on a serious fanart kick lately, most of it MLP;FiM stuff. Also Luke fon Fabre as a unicorn. Holy cats, Lukicorn everywhere, it's like I can't stop drawing him. Guy as a gryphon has already joined him in my sketchbook. Soon they'll launch their campaign proper to take over.
Getting closer to finishing up my first ever batch of requests, over on dA; about half way done now. I've enjoyed doing them, I have to admit. Very interesting drawing stuff I normally wouldn't think to draw. At the same time, I'll be happy when I'm done with them all so I can focus solely on my own stuff for a while.
Anyway, off to bed with me. I should really stop staying up until five in the morning.Slowpoke Me
Posted 12 years agoI keep forgetting to add my anthro/furry stuff here. I'm so used to just uploading it to dA and facebook and that's it.
I'll probably upload some more scraps at some point.
