Three Years, Trauma, and Trusting Myself

If you have noticed, I am finally posting a few old art works here. I am slowly starting to come out of my shell and being more myself.
At the same time, I am a wreck and coming to terms with the life I have lived.
Two months ago, my mother finally came to peace.
I never realized how much even her presence influenced my life. Part of it was healthy, loving, affectionate, she was an amazing mother.
The other half was restrictive, fearful, suffocating. I had so many issues that it really did feel like I was trapped.
I have known her to be sick her entire life. Our relationship was complicated. I will say that I truly loved her as my mother, but I cannot be completely dismissive of the events laid bare and the utter stunted personal growth that I am facing.
Grief is weird. Grief is hard, but it is also a path of healing. I am still facing facts about myself that I have been denying for so long. I feel like with her passing I can truly embrace the fact I am now an adult, as weird as that sounds.
As these feelings fester, I hope to be more attentive online, as my real life friends are also growing. I will be slowly moving some photos I have taken of the furmeets I hosted and my fursuit on here. Looking forward to being reintroduced to you all as the returned me.

A Bizarre Birthday
Posted 9 years agoSo, I wake up and lo and behold, TRUMP WON!
This...was not something most people who, like myself, thought Trump was irresponsible for being a President to hear.
Also, had a family fight...this has not been a good birthday.
I will be 26, but that is a secret...I am going to be 25 for another year. YAY!

Wearing a Fursuit for the First time...

It was well made, and yes, you get hot. But I did not mind at all!

For anyone who has a Disney DVD, they will notice on the language screen there is an option called "Descriptive English" or "Descriptive Audio".
This feature is for those who are blind to "listen" to the movie while it is played, with action scenes described via audio.
And gosh....they are HILARIOUS!
Well, imaging someone narrating the death of Mufasa while you are watching it. Whoever does the language for these has a very expansive vocabulary.
The Zootopia edition is NO EXCEPTION!
I want to make a few highlights:
1. Description of music kitty...dang cute.
2. Armadillos are not Anteaters
3. Rhinos are not Elephants
4. The narrator TOTALLY ships Bogo and Clawhauser at the end, if I was blind I would they they would be together after that description at the end.
5. Shakira MUST HAVE PAID disney to make the most sexy yet not something that could be flagged description of Gazelle and her tigers. I mean REALLY?
If you want a laugh, and you love watching Zootopia, watch it in Descriptive English.

I have been laid off. My last day is November 15th, so I have SOME time to regroup and rethink.

Man, I loved it! Loved the characters, jokes, themes, everything! I do have a few nipicks here and there.

I absolutely ADORED young Nick. And gosh, his backstory teared me up.
Loved the bunny/fox combo, and I will ship Nick and Judy SO MUCH! They should have kissed...
1. They should have chosen a different species to administer the drugs instead of rams. If they chose say....pigs or other farm animal, the "True" villian would have been harder to guess.
2. I DID feel like this was a take on a buddy-cop movie. I loved it, don't get me wrong, but really?
I know I could wright more, but this was on my mind!

Who are some good commissioners with reasonable prices?
Posted 11 years agoI have seen amazing artists, great work. but sometimes I feel that they ask for more $$$ than I can afford. X3
What really bugs me is the fact they charge extra for each character. (I can understand charging after 3, but hey, that's how they make money!)
So who are your favorite commissioners that charge around $10-20 (twenty pushes it) for at least 2 characters?

Posted 11 years agoFor 3-4 days I was out of power due to the extreme weather conditions in PA. Wow...what an ice storm! The trees were coated entirely in ice, kids were waiting for school busses in shorts (the day before the outage) and my car lost a headlight. Great...
I am trying to get back to everyone, AND clean up these journal headers...yeah....
