It's been almost two years since my last FA journal, I figure it's time I check in!


You know how they say no news is good news? Well pretty much that! Life is trucking along pretty awesomely. I got out of the veterinary field in April; being a surgical technician was something I loved but the pay will just never compensate for the long hours and stress. I switched over to an AutoCAD position in a totally different field which gave me my own office and a 40% salaried pay increase so that's been pretty nice so far. A huge change of pace! It's giving me a little more time for art and side biz stuff which is always a blessing. (Side businesses are still going well! Our spider enclosure & accessory Etsy store is doing far better than we ever could have hoped for.) I'd been hoping to see about opening commissions again this year but it's still a balancing act with scheduling time for everything, I'll do my best to make it happen again before I die.😂


Charon is still the best partner in crime, he and I looked into buying a house in 2020 but I'm sure you're all familiar with how the market is currently... 😬 We submitted 34 (!!) solid, competitive offers with our badass realtor and none stuck, so we ended up finding a rental house instead. THAT landlord just decided to sell right at the one year mark, for far more than the house is worth, so we just hopped to a new rental house last month. So far so good though, it's a gorgeous property with 500sqft more space. The landlord owns a house next door where us and the dogs have open access to his pool any time which is pretty nice, too. 😉

Weird question but it's more related to my side business 😂 I'm looking for a laser engraver/cutter that can handle approx 2mm clear acrylic; it needs to be able to cut multiple 1.5mm diameter holes through the plastic.

Does anyone have experience with, or recommendations? I'd love for it to have a larger working area (8 inches tall x 12-20 inches long) and am happy to invest a little more into the right product.

First up sorry for the delay in commission openings; I was hoping to open a couple of flat and ref sheet slots this month but with TFF around the corner I've been focusing on getting stuff done for the art show. @_@ After that I have a large comm that I need to get done so it may be more like mid-late February for new openings. Sorry! :c

Hope to see some of y'all at the con. ♡ I won't be dealing but do have a panel in the art show / auction which will have a few paintings on wood panels. :)

It's been a super stressful week with various things going on BUT I finally got some good news about my jaw surgery stuff today so that was nice. (Tooth implant has successfully taken to the graft so we can go ahead with putting the crown on. The finishing touches at last!) Gonna knuckle down on those two YCHs and hope to have them finished within the next week or two; after those I have one large project to do but I'd love to open for some ref sheets around that. :o Yes ref sheets. Whut whut?? We shall see!

WEW. I have updated all of my mod kit BODY skins with fresh new shading, fewer seams and - *drumroll* - Omega appliers! (Male, female and female adult versions.) The Lolas/Tango appliers are now also bundled into the main body skin package instead of being sold separately. I went through a ton of textures in order to update all 24 currently offered markings, so if you spot any glitches or if an applier doesn't seem to work right then just give me a shout!

My Raawr Kitty mods have also received a leg texture update to match these new body skins, and the tabby patterns got a re-furring update so that they look much more natural. ;)

Holy shiiiit you guys. ♥ That's crazy. I really am honoured that so many of you enjoy my work and can't state enough how grateful I am for all of your support over the years ;~;

The new job is going great; driving an average of 100 miles each day depending on which site I'm working and there is SO much to take in but it's worth it. <3 Early starts and late finishes mean I have zero time for art during the week but I'm looking forward to drawing on the weekends! :D

Phew okay I finally picked three, 'winners' I have noted you. ♥ That was FAR harder than I thought it would be haha; I received a lot more applications than anticipated (44 in total @_@ ) and you all had such great varied ideas! This is admittedly a weird time of year to open commission slots so I truly appreciate such a fantastic response. ;A;

In the end I narrowed it down to either folks who haven't received art from me before, or who had ideas that I am confident I'm able to finish on time. The window for completing these is really small so I had to pass over a few wonderful ideas simply because they couldn't be finished in time. Please don't be upset if I didn't pick you this round ;_; With that said! If I do manage to finish these three with time to spare then I will note a couple more of you back and see if you're still interested. <3

I have a couple of weeks before full-time training for my new job kicks in so wanted to squeeze in a couple of openings for you guys. ♥ These are not first come first served. 'Applications' are open until Wednesday night at which point I will select 1 to 3 ideas that most appeal to me. Please do not be upset if I don't pick you! It's been a while since I took completely free-reign commissions and I have a very tight turnaround deadline to finish these in, so want to make sure I take on work that can be done in that time frame. With this in mind; it is most likely that I will select single-character ideas, but feel free to submit anything! From busts to full scenes, inks to paintings.

So uhhh I kind of unexpectedly landed my dream job and start my training tomorrow. SORRY Y'ALL. 😂

Just a little heads up to let you guys know that work will be absent for a bit. I had my additional bone graft done today and hoooo boy the pain is pretty excruciating between med doses. (The original jaw bone graft is doing just fine but is not wide enough to support the eventual needed tooth implants, so my doc essentially opened things up from inside the mouth and packed some more graft under the gum today. It is a much smaller procedure than the original one so no hospital stay or jaw-wiring-shut required.)

My entire lower left gum is stitched up and the swelling should peak at around day 2 or 3 so I will likely be trying to just sleep a lot. See y'all in a few days! ♥
