Posted 13 years agoI had some people asking me yesterday if I can look at their links and they were to music videos. I know it's hard since we just met to remember this but I am deaf. I can't hear them. Some videos had subtitles but others didn't and it's hard to understand what's going on by just watching people move on the screen. Since most of my friends are hearing I want to say something.
My deafness does not define me. I don't think there should be a division between the deaf and the hearing because both my parents are hearing and my 2 sisters are hearing. I think that we should all live together like a family. I know a lot of deafies will think that's stupid or call me wrong but I don't live by what other people think of me or my discisions. if that was true I wouldn't be a furry. I would be just me. I love being deaf. I love the options I have in life. People can try to tell me that what i'm doing is wrong or something, but it's not. It's my choice. I love my hearing friends but you have to level with me here. I can't watch and listen at the same time. there's no sound. I love attending my friends' livestreams, but you can't ask me what music I want to hear unless you want to play something with a lot of bass and drums so I can feel the vibration in my headphones. (And if you have ever watched Switched at Birth, you would know what I'm talking about.)
I love the friends I have made here but there is a boundary that you have to remember and respect. I'm not just like you. I have a difference.

This morning brings sadness
Posted 13 years agoAt 5:20am I woke up to my brother who told me that Snake wasn't eating. (Snake is a python that I named after Snake from powerpuff girls) I got up to check on him and he wasn't lively like he usually was today either. I changed his water dish and kept coming to check on him. I tried to give him live food to see if he would eat that over the dead food he would normally eat. But he didn't come for it. Finally, at 9:12am, my Snake passed away. He was 11 years old.

Q&A w/ my Science Teacher
Posted 13 years agoMy science teacher told me about FA. (I know, strange, right?) So he wanted to ask me some questions that some people might wanted to ask but didn't.
What are Free Flyers?
Free flyers are dragons that are very much different from the rest of the world. they only have one eye and no ears. (I am deaf, so I made them deaf too) But a lack of hearing doesn't stop them from being the most amazing dragons of their world. they are 6 ft tall and very rare. One female can only have up to 3 eggs every 50 years so breeding isn't commonly successful. Free Flyers have been something I liked to draw since 2009.
What are Free Flyers based off of? They look like other dragon artists too.
I love alligators. Alligators and Crocs. I'm fascinated by their mouths and how long they are. I also love prehistoric crocs that were larger and longer.
I'm also part Cherokee so that's why Flyers have feathers
Nambroth and Skysealer have been my inspirations for about two years. I love their works and I admire them both as equaly as I can. I'm not trying to copy anyone it's just using references of theirs I like to learn. especially from Sky. she's pretty well detailed. if you saw my Free flyers before I knew about Sky you would run and hide.
Free Flyers wings don't have bones. How do they move?
Muscles. If you think like how do snakes move on the ground if they don't have legs, it's the same answer. From back to tip of the wings, they're all muscle. And the wing flaps are skin so they can glide.
We go to school together; you have better drawings in your notebook than you do online. Why not do some flyers like that?
As much as I would, I won't. I'm trying to keep art I do personaly to myself and my friends. Or future clients. When I make the Free Flyers book. I want it to be directed at all ages. and I want this airbrush/watercolor feel to inspire kids to draw all the time. Art is being cut from schools and it bothers me. Even though I might have more viewers if I post what's in my notebooks, I would rather keep it simple and let people figure it out for themselves.
Do you want to become popular on FA?
No. I do love FA and that there are some good people and art here but I can't say that I'm looking for popularity. I came here more because my friends look forward to me sharing my art rather than keeping it in my notebooks all day. As long as people like bawnii enjoy my work, I'm happy.
Is there anyone on FA that you would like to contribute a Flyer to?
Her art is cute and she was very kind to me. I hoped that I can maybe draw one for her later.

If you're asking are they only for me? Yes. But if I make good friends or if a lot of people ask for one, I might change the rules. but right now only 3 people in person have rights for one and only one online. maybe it will change maybe not.

I want to learn more about Open Canvas and expanding my knowledge on airbrushing/water color effects that I love to do. I want to know how to make something look really sketchy but really good at the same time. (My sister would argue and say that it does now, but I want it to look really good too) I just hope I can meet someone that can look at my art and say "I know how to help you." without meaning to make it look like everyone else's art.
