An eternity in internet time
Posted 15 years agoAfter these last couple of years of my own imposed self exile, I think I'm ready to join the community once again. Have I done anything new? Plenty, and I still possess my scanner. Perhaps I may start uploading. So to any and all who have favorited, watched, and commented on whatever it is I have done, thank you.
Now with that load of shit off of my chest...
Posted 18 years agoI can finally focus on what's important and what isn't. Right now things are OK in my area. But it's rather boring, it rains all the time in Cleveland (Quite dreary really.) And so here I type, smoking a pipe and listening to Joe Henderson (Really good Jazz.) I know I haven't submitted anything for a couple o' months (Don't know why? Look at this chunk o' text http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/183712/ if you care.) I've still been drawing but not that often now that I look at it. I got an "Original" idea in my head now, and I may act on it. Expect a drawing not too long from now ;)
...
Posted 18 years ago...In all the time I have exiled myself from this place, I have come to an understanding far greater than when I was here. I think I now understand the things that made me disappear for the time that I did. From what I see, this whole site was sucking me down. I know I was never the greatest artist, but don't get me wrong. I have every ounce of confidence in my skills and I believe in them. It's just...just the fact that all I see is hypocrisy. One of the main reasons I left was the very core of this site's principle being heavily violated by that twisted tendril hypocrisy (The principle being to advocate originality through your own artwork) How do I mean? Simple, no names shall be said but I know an artist. Who despite her politeness, sincerity, and even integrity was copying a famous artists work (For all of you this famous artist is Dr Comet) and passing this work off as her own. The only difference was the color scheme, the picture that was drawn (Not quite as refined as Comet but the outline was traced to a T) was his. Now do not tell me it's OK to do so, I know for a fact that Comet sells ALL his CDs (All of them, from the first to the latest) and he doesn't do it for fun. In fact the money he makes from it is what pays his bills, it's what keeps the roof over his head, it's what feeds his wife and his kids, it's what allows him to have the bare necessities to survive. Now I mention hypocrisy for a reason, those of you who actually cared to visit my page know that I didn't put up my own "Original" work all the time. To be precise I only put up at least 3 things that were not my own (Unofficially I am guilty for drawing licensed characters but at least I acknowledged it was not my original idea, what I mean as "Not my own" is that I did not create the idea or had anything to do with it.) Now the way I see it I gave credit to the artist who did that work, I had stated clearly that this was not my own work but that of another. But it was taken down as quickly as I posted it. Now how is it when you can get away with ripping off an artist's work (Not just the average joe, a Furry icon to be accurate) and this artist obviously makes his money off of ALL his published art. But somehow you get away with ripping it off and even going so far to say it was your own original work. But yet someone who puts up another's work, DOES NOT CLAIM IT IS THEIRS and not wanting any credit, money, prestige or what have you, gets it taken off and gets upbraided for not posting something "Original"......I'm sorry to say but someone needs to get their head out of their ass and see what is "Original" and what isn't. This is the ultimate reason my faith wavered on this site. As an artist I believe in the free exchange of ideas, but I also believe credit should be given where it is due. Many artists on this site (Particularly the frontrunners) allow other, lesser known artists to draw their respective copyrighted characters, as long as the credit for the original idea was given. So, how can I be doing anything so really wrong as long as I know and say that whatever I may be showing is not my own idea and that I have no interest in making money out of it. Perhaps you would say "Oh, well, we are not as big as the major names out their..." To a true artist, a real one, fame does not and never will really matter. It's just a part of what comes with success, it's a bonus at the most. The money is nice sure, everyone needs money, but the basic feeling of being truly ripped off comes from someone claiming your work as their own and others believing it as the truth. Money is just a part of greed that we face, as human beings every day in order to survive. You can't realize your dreams without greed, and as artists the dream can be and is often more than not hard to accomplish without wanting more out of you art (For one's art to get better, recognizable, and possibly profitable) It's a double edged sword greed is: On one side it's edge can cut through the shit, the obstacles you need to hurdle as you perfect yourself for success. On the other edge though it cuts through you, defiles you, makes you narrow everything down to a set value. True art is priceless, expressionless, wordless...it goes beyond even the words I used to describe it. Art just is, can anyone explain what true art is because I know I can't. And I may never know, which is the way I prefer it. As long as I don't know, I can never assume that I've perfected art. Art is one of those things that get better as you do it more, and I'll bet you even when I'm 50-60 years old I'll still be whipping out the ol' sketchpad and making a drawing, and I still won't know what art truly is. What about you?
A little less faithfull than normal...
Posted 18 years agoSome things have been bugging me for some time now, I'm not going to say cause it's bad enough I'm implying. All I will say is that I'm losing a little faith on this site, it's not that I'm not getting enough watches, not about enough favs, nor comments, nor anything of that sort. I'm just beginning to feel a little......guised, for no good reason.
Who else likes System Of A Down?
Posted 18 years agoI've been in a YouTube mood lately, upon the many vids I was searching up I found this music video of SOAD. The song is called "Lonely Day", I am a big fan of SOAD as well so I know I enjoyed it.

I found this other SOAD video, it's called "Attack" and it's live (Real Good Quality)

Some really good news at last
Posted 18 years agoWell, today I got my letter from Virginia Marti College, and it says that I have been accepted. I haven't felt this good about school since......never. That goes to show you how much I want to do this, that's how dedicated I am. And in hindsight now that I look at it, this is the only education I've ever wanted, that I've ever desired. The truth is is that I have been a big fan of cartoons, always have been, always will be. And now that I'm finally in the point of my life where I actually get to experience how it is all done......I'm a little breathless at the thought.
But the point is, is that my ultimate dream in life (To own, operate, manage, and work at my own animation studio as a boss who leads by example) can finally be realized. My life is almost fully realized, and I cannot wait any longer! I start school July 9th, only about 3 weeks away...wow. With that said though, check out my latest pic http://www.furaffinity.net/view/613844/ The explanation is rather lengthy, but it's a short story to tell the origin of my own char for a SatAM Sonic story, the Sentinel.

For those who like to chill and jam to music XD
Posted 18 years agoI found out about this site where you can listen to music on an online radio-esque station you make. There's nothing complicated about it, just register and you're set.
This is the site: www.pandora.com , oh and it's free as well, so jam away my head banging friends XD

"Will the Real Eggman Please Stand Up?"
Posted 18 years agoWell, I'm pretty positive many of you have seen this by now, but I like the flash anyway. For those of you who know Eggman, and don't know what I'm talking about, take a look at this: http://www.starterupsteve.com/flash.....l_eggman.shtml
No Subject
Posted 18 years agoI've been up all night, drinking caffeine like a thirsty man in the Sahara Desert. And I'm a little out of it, and wouldn't you know? I'm listening to a song called "All Friends and Kingdom Come", it's a Stoner Metal song really. Don't mind me, I'm just a little tired (Heh, a little? Who am I fucking kidding here......)
I give thanks to the daughters of Zeus, the Muses
Posted 18 years agoIf you have noticed recently, I have been making pics like crazy, not like I normally do. I think the Muses decided to deprive me of any ideas, and then all of a sudden......KA-FUCKING-BOOM! I'm hit with a shock-wave of ideas, I'll bet you anything I'll come up with something tomorrow or the day after. And just for fun, I'm listening to Monster Magnet's "God Says No", it's pretty mellow for the band's usual genre of music.
Generic Shmeneric
Posted 18 years agoJust a thought I came up with this morning (Note: I haven't had my full daily dose of caffeine, which is usually enough to drown a small country) I've been reading some journals (Not naming names) looking around and reading with a little fascination. Now, it's come to my attention that there is some sense of what generic pics on this particular site are. It's also worth a little mentioning of what there should be more or less of in terms of what kinds of pics there should be. Now, in my honest, and unprofessional opinion I think there is only so much originality. I'm not saying all the possibilities are exhausted, I just think we haven't reached such a prominent place of inspiration just yet.
Taking note of some of the things which are considered *ahem* "Generic", I looked through my own gallery to see if I had these so called "Generic" pics. And it turns out that I most certainly do have a lot of pics that are "Generic". Now, I'm not flaming, or blaming, or vindicating anybody about this, I just wish to say is generic so bad? Is something like same-old same-old really tiring to look at? If you really think about it, without genericness there wouldn't be originality, and without originality there would be nothing generic.
To me, the problem isn't that there isn't much originality, I think people are more comfortable to create what they know, whether it be original or not. Hell, even my own art is considered "Generic", what can I do? Well, nothing really cause I'll draw what I want to draw, whether it be considered generic, or not. To me, all you have to do to look for originality is sift through the shit, I mean take a good long search, till you find something original.
And one last opinion of mine, in hindsight now that I look at it, generic and original are naught but labels, labels to define things. I personally think art has no definition, it never had an explanation to begin with. Even now art cannot be truly defined, there is so much in the world of art, and so much more yet unknown. So in conclusion, I don't really think there is anything generic or original to art, art is art to me no matter what it is, period.

July 9
Posted 18 years agoThis coming July, that's the date I go off to college. I am quite simply excited, I can't wait to go and start my life for real.
"Insert Name Here"
Posted 18 years agoIt seems there is no ability for me to come up with a name at this time. So I'm just typing out of randomness, and some intention too. Although I forgot what the intention was...oh well.
Just some rather plaintive thinking (George Carlin inspired)
Posted 18 years agoI feel sorta philosophical right now, looking in hindsight to many things. As I look I must wonder, human behavior is rather interesting. For instance, did you know that every thirty seconds of every day, someone commits suicide? And did you know that humans are the only creatures who willingly kill another, for the sake of pleasure, choice, or some other conviction? Have you ever noticed that when two different countries seem to really hate each other (So much that they are at war with one another). It seems that the two sides have very different hats, If you're at war with someone, chances are they have a different fucking hat!
I sorta took some of Carlin's routine and rewrote it a little cause I forgot how it exactly went. I gotta listen to it again when I get the chance, but that's basically what my sense of humor is like. Philosophical, silly, but truthful at the same time.

Posted 18 years agoIf you're reading this, you must be getting the idea of today. The title says it all, anyway, this journal was for the sake of randomness (And I felt like it ;) Well, I'm going to ROCK OUT!!!
Something kinda cool I guess
Posted 18 years agoWell, time for another update in my daily life thingy. I'm doing rather good, I've never felt happier or more content in my life. I'm going to be applying for college real soon, I'm going to a specialized art school called Virginia Marti. Good thing about it is that's it's just up the street from me, and the Admissions guy was impressed with my artwork. I just got to fill the application and take the admissions test. And I also got the Sonic SatAM complete collection on DVD so I'm really happy now. ^-^
I have another question...
Posted 18 years agoThis is for the sake of curiousness, and it's been in the back of my head for a while now. I want to know what you guys think of my drawing style, I'm not really asking for a comparison here. I just want to know what you think my style is: is it anime-ish? cartoonish? you know stuff like that. And you can be critical too if you wish, I just want to know. And here's the link to my finished pic.

Well, I'm finally out of the f*&%ing frying pan of artblock
Posted 18 years agoJust posted something new in a while, something original too. Anyway, thinking of an idea for the next chapter in my story, and touching up the rough of my newest post. But the point is that I am back, no longer blocked by that damn artblock.
What to do...what to do...
Posted 18 years agoWell, I'm sort of stuck, I don't have any fucking idea of what to do for a pic. I'm listening to the Monster Magnet song "There's No Way Out of Here" for some kind of inspiration. Maybe I'll write something, on very rare occasions I do write stuff. Whenever I write stuff I like to include everything, sex, violence, cussing, the occasional drug use, I am not afraid. Of course that's not what my stories are all about.
Anyway, just randomly thinking about what to write, maybe I'll do a short story. Yeah, I've been thinking about a series of short stories for a while now. That settles it then, I'm writing my stories, can't wait to write them.

I finally got it!!!!!! ^_^
Posted 18 years agoWell, got God of War 2, it...kicks...ASS!!!!! I haven't had this much fun with a game since I got Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess. Anyway, besides having some fun with that, not much else.
Trying to readjust myself here...
Posted 18 years agoOk, not much to say, only few things are: 1. Trying to readjust my body clock, (Basically my sleeping schedule is really fucked up...X( .) 2. Trying to think of the EXACT idea for the next pic. And 3. Impatiently waiting for God of War 2, (If you haven't figured it out by now, I am a furry gamer.) So in general that's really all that there is right now in my life, sorry if I'm boring the hell out of you all.
Here's comes another one!!! lol, not that excited...
Posted 18 years agoWell, been a while since I posted something that looked halfway good. My colored version of my new scaly girl is up so, anyone who is reading this should take a look
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/438135/
Anyway, not much happening in my neck of the woods. It's only getting colder, the fact that the snow we had melted (Due to a freak warm front.) And it's beginning to snow again, the only other thing is that on the 13th or 14th I'm getting God of War 2. So that's really all for now, can't wait to hear from ya.

Posted 18 years agoWell, the greatest news I have ever had to date, I can now operate my scanner and get on with showing my artwork. I have never had so much stress over a piece of technology, but I did with this one. Anyway, I can stop whining about how my technology isn't working. I'm making a comeback......WITH A VENGEANCE!!! LOL, not so much drama but you get the idea.
I need some PC help...:(
Posted 18 years agoOkay, this is an odd question to ask but I need the help. For anyone with computer know-how, can anyone help me with this. My PC I got came with the new Windows Vista, there's a lotta bugs right now. But my question is this: When you install a program (In my case, my 3 in 1 printer, scanner, and digital photo maker), I keep getting the message "Log on to an account with administrator privileges...). But here is the funny part, I AM an administrator with my account. Now I tried creating another admin account on my comp and tried installing it on that account. But I keep getting the same message time and time again. If anyone can help me with my plight, I would be most gracious.
Sorry about the wait guys
Posted 18 years agoSorry about the wait, had a little difficulty dealing with my ISP. But the inportant thing is, is that I have my own computer, and I'm online now. No more having to go to friends houses to go online. I will upload soon enough once I get the driver compatible with my OS and 3-in-1 printer. Until then my friends, Da Svadonya.
