Live Cook-A-Long Sunday 6pm
Posted 5 years agoGreetings Campers!
It's been a while! Like, almost a whole year. Unfortunately, we all know that CampFire tails can't happen this year and has already been canceled; BUT that doesn't mean we can't keeps is spirit alive!
In gearing up for the CFT AWOO Online Experience, I am going to be hosting a Tech Rehearsal with all the hardware I'll be using. What this means is that THIS SUNDAY I will be doing a Cook-A-Long of something basic but I make on a regular basis.
Few things to know: most of the things I cook are either Pre-Agriculture or Keto (Low Carb) compatible; most meals are less than 15 net carbs or less. All the ingredients are easy to find (in most cases) and can have standard ingredients substituted with a few considerations. So, for this Sunday (26July20) we will be making Andouille Fettuccine with Spinach.
Serving Size - Individual (9-12 net carbs)
2 Anduille sausages (apx 4-6oz)
Frozen chopped spinach
Mozzarella cheese
Parmesan cheese
Coconut-Almond 'half and half', unsweetened and unflavored (Califa Farms Better Half or Ripple)
Bulb Garlic
Yellow Onion
Pink Salt
Olive (or Grape Seed) Oil
Dried Oregano
Dried Rosemary
Dried Thyme
1 bag shirataki noodles (Pasta Zero or Maricle Noodle)
Pink Wine (Semi-Sweet, like White Zinfandel)
Skillet or medium sauce pan
If you aren't concerned with the low carb aspect, feel free to bring along instead:
Reserved noodle water instead of Coconut-Almond Creamer
Regular Fettuccine (2 oz dry) instead of Shirataki noodles
Pot for boiling noodles
Feel free to spin on by and cook along!
tl;dr

CFT Cookbook Update
Posted 6 years agoGreetings Campers!
It’s been a month since camp! In that time with so many eyes skimming the pages of the Cookbook, a few errors beyond document formatting have been brought to my attention. MISTAKES ARE MADE, and I’m only mostly human.
Recipe Update:
The peanut sauce recipe has “½ cup lime juice”. This should be 2 tablespoons. Part of the old upscaling when changing formatting problems ‘redid’ itself with an Undo.
Credits and Acknowledgments:
Cover logo was developed by Maly and I was allowed to use it for the cover of the book. However, either I didn’t copy-paste the link or I typed it over again for formatting reasons; Maly’s Twitter handle is @ MalyTwoTails
All around, the other spelling mistakes and plot holes are glaring but don’t interfere any further than being obvious that only one copy edit was done (time crunch, yo).
In the coming months, if I discover any other blaring mistakes that will cause a meal to fail; I will send email update as needed. Next year at camp, I will bring complimentary ‘inserts’ with all the updates/corrections.
If you have any questions, feel free to comment below. :3

Asus L402WA-EH21
Posted 7 years agoAlright, I'm putting this here for searchability everywhere on the internet. Seriously, the amount of crap you are about to read is me losing my mind getting a cheep laptop to run.
Computer in Question - http://a.co/iSvFP6I
And the review I submitted to Amazon... ITS THREE PAGES!
- - - - -
This review is specifically for the 14" L402-WA-EH21.
First off, a little bit of background: I am a computer person. I build, rebuild, and maintain computers both in professional and personal life.
The Good Things-
This computer is light weight, easy to use, feels good to type on, and starts fairly quick. Everything about this PC is built specifically to be lightweight and slim. It is specifically built to do web browsing, emailing, instant messaging, and lightweight document creation. Think of it like a Chromebook but running windows. Youtube videos run smooth, network (while n compatible, ac-based) is wifi is zippy but wired is faster, and the screen is bright and vivid (with the right settings). If you are student that needs a budget document creation tool, this will do it. If you need a computer to quickly look up information, close and toss around the living room, or send emails to grandma; this machine will do it.
It also has a 2.5" harddrive bay in a cover under the bottom of the laptop (not advertised but it's there). I have installed (and highly recommend) a 250gb ssd for the additional storage space (and if you are going to be doing any type of heavy document creation, you will need the space). It works fine without reducing battery life.
At the moment, the longest I have used it was 3 hours before plugging it in, but that was because I was leaving for several hours. probably would have made 4 before having to plug it in.
The Not-So-Good Things-
The L402WA-EH21 has no documentation online, has no specs listed through the ASUS website, and apparently doesn't exist other than it is listed on Amazon for sale. The closest model is the E402WA on the ASUS site and comes in two different versions (i think the E is Intel based, the L is AMD based). Given that you are considering purchasing this laptop, all the documentation that you will have will come in the box; a basic start up manual, a warranty card, a small bag of screws (for the harddrive expansion bay), and a power supply.
The Bad Things-
I received this laptop and plugged it in and fired it up. Standard Windows set up and logged into the desktop. Always first thing to do is to check that Windows activated itself properly. It did not. Alright, so I thought there might be a problem with the OS that was installed on it, so I restored the system using the builtin restoration partition (takes about 45 minutes). I redid the Windows set up, and waited. Same information was stored in the restoration partition as was in the original install. Windows wouldn't activate.
Alright, being a computer guy, I dug out the tools and scanned the keys that were installed from Asus. The version of Windows installed was 10Home, the key installed through BiOS/UEIF was a 10RTMCore, and had an origin key of 10RTMCloud. All three of these keys are for different versions, none of which are interchangeable with each-other.
If you research the OS that is suppose to be installed on this computer (Windows 10S) you will find that it is identical and interchangeable with W 10Pro. Being a computer guy, I wiped the boot drive and installed Windows 10Pro from a flash drive (takes about 45 mins), did the Windows set up, had the OS pull the key from BiOS ... Windows not active...!
At this point I was at a loss as what to do. I did a few activation tricks and called Microsoft Activation to see if i could manually activate Windows 10Pro. Talking to a Third Tier Tech (first two were impatient and useless, about 45 minutes being bounced around), the Tech checked the three keys that I had. The W 10H key was already registered and in use (so dead), and the W 10RTMCore and 10RTMCloud had not called home properly. YES! Two keys were available, one of them was no longer viable. Here's the nail in the coffin, I asked the Tech where I could get a ISO (the installer disk) for Windows 10 S (10RTMCloud). His exact answer "Unfortunately, there is no way for you to get ahold of a 10S ISO image. They are distributed directly to manufacturers only." ... Great... Just great...
So... After all of that I had a brand new key, a new laptop, and no way to put the OS on it that it was suppose to be installed! Mind you, this is five hours into taking it out of the box. I finally was just about to throw it back in and ship it back when I decided to dig around in Google.
So... after about an hour, I found a fix. It's complicated, it's doable if you are moderately computer savvy, and have about two hours of time; no software needed to be stolen or borrowed from illegitimate sources or anything.
1. Get a Windows 10Pro image set and ready on a flashdrive and bootable.
2. Install 10 Pro onto the laptop WITHOUT changing any partition information (simply delete the OS partition and stall Windows 10Pro in its place) and bypass the key entry section during install.
3. Once the computer is set up and running at the desktop, check to see if the key has Activated. IF IT HAS YOU ARE FINISHED. If not, continue.
4. If Windows 10Pro did not activate, you need to find the installer for W 10S. You cannot obtain an ISO, you must use an 'Upgrade' like installer. The webpage to search for is "Test Windows 10 S on existing Windows 10 education devices". Read most of the page so you know what you're getting into, and download the installer.
5. Run the installer. It will do an 'Upgrade' install, move all of the associated profile information to a Windows.old folder on the C drive, and install Windows 10S.
6. Alright, you've done this step before. Go through the Windows 10 set up.
7. Once you get to the desktop, check to see if Windows 10S has been activated. At this point, Windows 10 pulled the key from the BiOS/UEIF and registered properly!
8a. At this point you are ready to run. Go ahead and use the laptop as you want. You will need to run DiskCleanup as administrator to wipe out the Windows 10Pro files that are completely useless and just taking up the tiny storage.
8b.If you plan on installing any software that is not Windows 10S verified (through the Windows Store) to be lightweight, this laptop HAS the ability to be upgraded to pro through the Store. Search for 'Upgrade to Pro'. It will upgrade you straight away without installing anything else. Everything that Windows 10Pro needs is already in 10S, anything that isn't will need to be downloaded and installed (which if you need them, you will know where to find them in Programs & Features through the Control Panel).
Final Thoughts-
Generally, I like this lightweight system. It does exactly what I need it to do; run several messengers, word processing, quick internet searches, basic presentations, and occasionally watching Twitch. If you need a small computer, this will do the trick! If you need something to run Photoshop, you will need something more powerful. If this system had of been manufactured with the proper OS on it at the getgo, it would have gotten a 4/5 Star rating... Seriously.... SIX hours of my life are gone because someone in OSImaging didn't get the memo that the BiOS/UEIF had a Windows 10S and not Windows 10Home, or 10RTMCore... If you manage to get this system with Windows 10S and not have to go through a ton of set up, or have the technical ability to do EVERYTHING I did it will be a good lightweight system. At the moment, I cannot confirm that any of the units available have the proper OS on them. I have posted the above information for anyone that might run into the same problem and really REALLY want to give the system a good shot before throwing it back in the box and sending it back.

The Talos Principle - A Playthrough Reflection
Posted 10 years agoI haven't been very active on FA in quite a while; small things here and there but nothing too major. Rarely, when I play or watch something that has a profound moment or idea, I come here to reflect and to talk out the jumble of information that is knocking around in my head. AKA = TL;DR Warning with kinda-spoilers.
About a year ago, I caught a glimpse of a video game coming out through Steam called The Talos Principle (TTP). I had no idea what the game was about but the promo video made me want to play it.
Visually, without even touching the game it looked stunning. The visuals of the environment are stunning. Croteam, TTP’s developer, may not have been using state of the art physics engines to handle precise real time physics, but the light engine used rendering rays and shadow casts while handling multiple light sources is brilliant. Depth of field isn’t present but the perpetual distant haze giving the feel of a real environment gives a great feel of size of the world. Everything from ‘useless areas’ to major set-pieces are textured and shaped to a degree that even some big name companies just don’t take care of.
Music composition is wonderful even if it might be slightly repetitive when working on some of the individual puzzles. While the music is not situational, it feels like it is effected as you progress. Music keyed in certain ways changes the way you view the environment. Faster the tempo of the music, the flow of the game feels even when the task requires you to move slow or be patient.
Game sounds… could have used a little more work as the 3D environment didn’t seem to lend any deflection or echo and some moving items that changed shape were always at the same volume regardless if they were several walls away. A little bit of tweaking with the way the sounds emit could change it BUT in some cases the audio changing would make some of the puzzles impossible.
The puzzles… Oh, hell the puzzles. Complex and yet simple in most aspects, all of them linear or multi-tiered are hard; even when so simple. Some puzzles that were massively complicated were straight forward while the smaller ones with only two or three moving/movable parts took 45mins to an hour to figure out. Some puzzles, without a little bit of primer were nearly impossible unless you discovered something by accident.
The Talos Principle is an emotional look into a bright world with only one way to move through it: to progress. While over-narration tells you, “You can stay for eternity, I don’t mind” while presenting you with puzzles pieces of information that compel you to look further for more information. “Easter Eggs” and computer terminals dropping information for you to read through giving reason for the world to exist, all while the booming voice from the sky says eternity awaits and a small voice from the other side of the screen says ‘Why not question...’
Look, this game is so good, I don’t even want to get into any details about it because it changes how the playthrough would feel. If you want to play it, don’t go into it knowing anything about the game or its timeline. Knowing anything about it will change your perception of the games world. The best way to play this game is to approach it the same way your character does inside the game: start only knowing that you exist and have a world to explore full of mystery, challenges forcing or coaxing you to progress towards eternity and salvation of your kind.
There’s a lot more I’d like to say about this game, but saying anything more will disrupt the experience if you haven’t played it yet. Just know that the game, once completed, leaves you sad and fulfilled and knowing that if you had to do it all over again, you would.

Warframe and Free Time
Posted 12 years agoArg... By now most of you know that I am a schlub for Joanns Fabrics (if you didn't, you do now!). While the work is simple, it's so boring it wipes me out by the time I'm done at the end of the day. By the time I get home, I need some fast paced violence in order to be functional the next day.
What this means is that I have been spending a lot of time on Warframe the past month or so after work. Why? Well because I'm brainfried by the time I get home. Last time I tried to sew something in that condition I ended up sewing my thumb to someones hipsters...! Yeah.. my thumb is just now finishing the healing on that one. The only way I can comfortably sew is when I have two days off in a row. I haven't had one in almost a month. That is partially why a lot of you haven't heard from me in a while. Rest assured that you're items (if confirmed) are either partially made or just about done. I just need a little extra time to actually get the junk done...
In the mean time. At night sometime between 6pm-12am PST I am on Warframe wasting Infested, gutting Greneer, and slicing Corpus. you can probably find me on there. Bet you can find me :P
aslo, you want to play? click here *points*

One week with change...
Posted 12 years agoWell, it's been one week since Buffy died and adjusting has been... well... interesting.
Everyday when I'd head to either the garage or the house I usually stopped by the porch and bent down to wave and say Hi to her before heading on my way. Wednesday, i stopped and bent down automatically and sighed... for the moment my automated response defied logic for me to say "Hi!" to Buffy even though i knew she wasn't going to be there. I spent the next 30 mins fighting back tears and failing.
Buffy was also our main source of security here. Since last week we have been forced to rethink alert systems here. We think we've come up with one (since Auska is about as useful as a thumbtack in your shoe). Out-buildings have been fitted with motion sensors and door open sensors. If they are tripped in the middle of the night we will approach the zones with guns drawn. Simple enough.
I am a little worried about Auska though. She's been very... well.. i guess depressed is the word. She has always been around Buffy from the time she was four months old. Auska literally has nothing to 'harass' anymore. She's been a good distraction (fetch and stuff) but between those times shes laying in the spot where Buffy always laid on the step. Auska never use to do that, she always took the other corner near the door.
So, now I'm sitting here with two Long Islands down and working on the first OtterPop of the night with the cabin door open and realizing that I haven't heard any whining at the door for attention... and here i am again in tears...
Miss ya Buffy, i really do.

Apx 19-23. Black Jaguar, Arabian horse, Brazilian Giant River Otter hybrid. Stands about 5'7" in a swimmers build with a digitigrade stance. Upper left chest has a red triple-interlocked Mars symbols in his fur. Legs are slightly longer than average for someone with his size torso. Fairly muscular with a tight short black, slightly oily, pelt over his full body. Headfur is slightly shaggy with red-tipped bangs which is commonly styled with either gel or wax. Fingers and toes are webbed, and prehensile tail is slightly thicker at the base and tapered down to the tip that touches the floor-and-thensome. Pantherparts are quite large for someone his stature, his balls the size of a pair of lemons with a sodacan of a sheath sitting above. Erect is just short of a foot long and rather equine in shape and appearance but has a slight ring of barbs behind the flare. Most of the time, a silver ring in his right lower ear, a stud in his bellybutton, a ring through the lip of his sheath, and two inline studs in his tongue.

Apx 14-17. Red-spotted pink and white hyena standing 5'-5'6" tall with a digitigrade stance. His 'gloves', 'socks', muzzle, and ears are slighlty purple but still in the pinkish color. His white underbelly runs down over his chest and dow between his thighs and up his undertail. His red-spots have been described as 'ink splotches' randomly splattered around his pink fur; a pair of spots on his right rumpcheek look a bit like slot-machine cherries, hence his name. His yena-parts are about the same as Xanders, but slightly smaller depending on his age and more humanoid with a silver ring through the lip of his sheath. A large red anodized stud sits in the center of his tongue which is seen most often when hes sticking his tongue out at someone (typical kid).
Tekah:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1014777/
Apx 17-23. 5'6" tall effeminately framed snow leopard with a digitigrade stance. Varying gray black rosettes spot his gray fur and his cream-gray colored fur runs under his muzzle, down over his chest and down between his thighs and up his undertail. Mid back long violet headdfur that is commonly pulled back or braided. He's a bit of a glamor-hound and typically won't leave the house unless he is 100% satisfied with his outfit and looks; even going as far as using eyeliner and eye shadow if the outfit calls for it. His massively fluff (near squirrel capacity) tail always swaying behind him and displaying a starburst pattern on the last third of its length. Snowmew bits are 'fairly' sized for his height but not overly endowed. A single bellybutton stud and a single tongue stud are his only jewelry.
Nanuq:
No visual references. Working on that.
Apx 30-37. Eggshell colored polarbear standing 7ft with the build of an off-season body builder. He lacks the standard bear 'gut', instead has a flat fairly toned belly. Overall, not overly cut but defiantly able to fold a GeoMetro in half without much effort. All of his exposed flesh is purplish black (including tongue) and fingerpads. Bearbits are just as huge as the rest of him, balls each the size of large grapefruit and a white sheath that hides 14 inches of black 'beer-mug' thick bear cock.
(Xander is primarily my real personality wrapped around little aspects i am trying to pull in. The other three are manifestations of my personality ramped up quite a bit. Cherry is the innocent teen with wandering eyes; Tekah is the glamor hound and always trying his hardest to be the girlyboy; and Nanuq is simply the powerhouse that specializes in smashing, bashing, and crisis management.)

Boys need a new home pt. 2
Posted 12 years agoYep... most of you know that I'm a dildo collector, but my storage space for my older toys is running low and they don't get the playtime they deserve. So... it's time for them to be rehomed. :/
UPDATE: About half of them have already found new homes! Yay! I'm glad to see them go to their forever homes where they will see all the action they deserve.
The toy list and the price list is over on ZP here http://www.zoofur.com/forum/index.p......html#msg26909 (deer, knight rider, dragon, gryphon, raptor, little rider, and kolton still available)
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. :3
The boys deserve a good home. Anyone want to give them one?
heres an updated photo of the gels https://dl.dropbox.com/u/45363484/g.....s_for_sale.jpg
top row: little rider, knight rider, deer, roys toy, dragon, hyena (top), oskar (bottom)
bottom row: gryphon, rabbit, ram, seal, raptor, otter, grandpup
