Belleton Delayed
Posted 9 years agoI've been trying to post a new chapter of Belleton every Monday, but chapter fifteen is going to be a week late, thanks to glorious family, an onslaught of good food, and two turkey hangovers.
A belated Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Website Live! Could use some feedback...
Posted 11 years agoMy official website's online as of this week, if still in something of a beta mode until I buy myself a proper domain name and start paying monthly website fees.
tolinom.wix.com/to-wander-infinity
I still haven't tested it on every browser yet. If anyone visits it, I could use all the feedback I can get. Does it look professional? Is anything causing an obvious glitch on your browser? How about on your cell phone? Those sorts of things.

Summer Update: Novels and Such
Posted 11 years agoHey, everyone! Been away from FA for a while aside for a few weekly posts. Wanted to let you all know what I've been up to the past few months.
My biggest personal news is about "To Wander Infinity," my debut novel. I've talked it up before, and will again, I'm sure, but proofreading the final draft consumed a lot of my time this summer, so there's often little else on my mind. I'm proud to announce that the paperback edition is now on sale on Amazon.com. The e-book edition will continue to be on sale, as well, of course, but after editing the proof copy sent to me by Amazon's publishing site, I've fixed a great many typos and updated the e-books, as well. Happily, Los Angeles and Sydney, Australia no longer look like they were spelled by a ninth grader!
With the book officially complete, I'm hard at work on the sequel, as well as looking into setting up a website and putting together an album of my piano solos. While those projects are in the works, however, I will be posting weekly chapters of To Wander Infinity on SoFurry and here on FurAffinity, and likely on Weasyl once I set up an account there. I may very well post the entire novel over the course of the next year for those who aren't able to buy it online. I've gotten advice both supporting and opposing that decision, and have gone back and forth on it myself for quite a while. On the one hand, it's a good story worth paying for. On the other...I love libraries. It would be hypocritical to withhold the novel from the internet when I hope to have it available in libraries worldwide someday.
So, for those who have been following the story, enjoy! I promise I'll have proper links between chapters soon.

To Wander Infinity, in Ebookstores Everwhere!
Posted 11 years agoI am now officially a published author!
To Wander Infinity is now available at Amazon.com as a Kindle ebook, and will soon be released on the Nook, Ipad, and...well, just about anything that can read an ebook.
If you have a Kindle, you can buy the ebook at http://www.amazon.com/Wander-Infini.....ander+infinity
It should also show up in Kindle's search or shop feature, though since I don't own one, I haven't been able to test that yet.
It's currently listed on Amazon.com as "by Kyle Rowland and Samantha Boring." This is because Samantha, an old friend, was kind enough to edit the manuscript for me, and I listed her as the official editor.
If you have another e-reading device and just can't wait to read it, you can download the story in pretty much any ebook format that exists from the book's page at my distributor's website, Smashwords: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/393933
You'll have to download the file to your computer, then upload it from there to your Nook/Ipad/What-have-you, but it will be the same file you'll soon be able to buy directly through your preferred ebook store.

Another FFXIV Update
Posted 12 years agoAs usual when a new MMO comes out, I've been bouncing all over the servers. My latest, and hopefully main character, is F'rret Yntemid on the Gilgamesh server, after learning that Gilgamesh is both a roleplaying world and home to a large LGBT community. I may wind up moving again if there's ever an official furry server, but so far I've barely met two furries who play on the same world, so for now, Gilgamesh it is!
Final Fantasy XIV
Posted 12 years agoA Realm Reborn started up this weekend for early access players, with the official release date on Tuesday. If anyone knows if there will be an official furry server in the game, I'd love to join a friendly free company or linkshell. For now, you can find me as Cerulean Wyveril on the Coeurl server!
Update: Now playing mostly as F'rret Yntemid on the Behemoth server.

23 Deep-Ass Questions
Posted 13 years agoSnatched from Voltiel's journal: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/3987354/
Been a while since I've done one of these.
1. What is more difficult for you, looking into someones eyes when you are telling someone how you feel, or looking into someones eyes when they are telling you how they feel?
When telling someone else how I feel, because usually I wait until I'm driving down the interstate with them in the passenger seat to do it. Then they can't escape!
2. Think of the last time you were REALLY angry. WHY were you angry? Do you still feel the same way?
This last week, after watching Cloud Atlas. The "why" is more elusive, but certain parts of the movie evoke a simultaneous terror and rage response every time I think about them. The anger's still there, but it's on a dull burn now.
3. You are on a flight from Honolulu to Chicago non-stop. There is a fire in the back of the plane. You have enough time to make ONE phone call. Who do you call? What do you tell them?
My dad. Assuming my plan to open an emergency hatch and snuff out the fire with the wind and low air pressure doesn't work, I'm going to need him to pick me up after I land the luggage- and airplane seat-crafted parachute/airboard contraption that I've spent the last 15 seconds making.
4. You are at the doctor’s office and he has just informed you that you have approximately one month to live. Do you tell anyone/everyone you are going to die? What do you do with your remaining days? Would you be afraid?
I'd probably tell my parents and sister, then do a little traveling. One more trip to Kittyhawk's hang gliding school, and I hear France is nice this time of year. And yes, I expect I'd be terrified.
5. You can have one of the following two things. Which do you choose? Why? Love and Trust.
Question does not compute. One isn't possible without the other.
6. You are walking down the street on your way to work. There is a dog drowning in the canal on the side of the street. Your boss has told you if you are late even once more, you are fired. Do you take the time to save the dogs life? Why or Why not?
Yes. Because if the tables were turned, the dog would probably try to find a way to save me, and it sounds like my job kinda sucks, anyway.
7. Would you rather be hurt by the one you trust the most or the one you love the most?
Once again, not sure how to differentiate the two.
8. Your best friend confesses that he/she has feelings for you more than just friendship. He/she is falling in love with you. What do you (or did you) do/say?
"Um...wow, Dad, that's unexpected. I don't want to hurt your feelings at all, but I think it might be best if I start looking for another place to live...."
9. Think of the last person who you know that died. You have the chance to give them 1 hour of life back, but you have to give up one year of yours. Do you do it? Why or Why not?
No. Mathematics and objectivity. If everyone made that trade, we'd all receive an hour to our lives and lose a year. Net loss of 364 days, 23 hours to everyone's lives. If everyone was selfless in this nature, we'd all starve.
10. Are you the kind of friend that you would want to have as a friend?
Not really. We'd never talk!
11. Does love = sex?
Nope. Love is an emotion, sex is a physical act that can and should result from it, enhance it, and evoke it. But seriously, this is like asking if olive = martini. It helps to have the former to make the latter, and the latter can make the former a whole lot more interesting, but they're not at all the same thing.
12.Your boss tells your coworker that they have to let them go because of work shortage, and they are the newest employee. You have been there much longer. Your coworker has a family to support and no other means of income. Do you go to your boss and offer to leave the company? Why or Why not?
No. Because that would be stupid. See self sacrificing sermon from Question 9, apply logic here.
13.When was the last time you told someone HONESTLY how you felt regardless of how difficult it was for you to say? Who was it? What did you have to tell the person?
Two days ago: I told my dad I felt like eating at Fazzoli's. Wasn't all that difficult.
14. What would be (or what was) harder for you to tell a member of the opposite/same sex, you love them or that you do not love them back?
That I love them. Though neither's easy.
15. What do you think would be the hardest thing for you to give up? Why would it be hard to lose?
My teeth. I like food. (Non smartass answer: My family. They're all I've got. Except for my teeth.)
16. Excluding romantic love, when was the last time you told someone you loved them. Who were they to you?
My sister, a few days back on the phone.
17. If there was one moment and one time in the last month what would you change and why?
In my own life? Probably any given moment at work speaking with my boss. Rather than going about our business as if nothing was wrong, I'd like to have manned up and told her that she could save a tremendous amount of time and money by just firing me and doing my job herself.
18. Would you give a homeless person CPR if they were dying? Why or Why not?
I'd like to think so, if I knew CPR, of course. But only after checking the surroundings thoroughly to make sure it's not a trap. And making sure the homeless person doesn't have anything sharp that they might stab me with while I'm trying to save their life. ...Come to think of it, they might be better off without me, as long a time as it would take me to get around to actually helping.
19.You are holding onto your grandmother’s hand and the hand of a newborn that you do not know as they hang over the edge of a cliff. You have to let one go to save the other. Who do you let fall to their death? What was your rationale for making the decision?
I'd wrap my ankles around some roots and hang on to both for dear life. Assuming the question's parameters are accurate, we'd all fall to our deaths, but there's a difference between being selfless and being too stubborn and stupid to know when to give up.
20. Are you old fashioned?
Either not at all, or older fashioned than anyone else alive.
21. When was the last time you were nice to someone and did NOT expect anything in return for it?
I'm petting my cat this very moment. I expect he'll hiss at me soon. You mean a human? The last time I saw one, then. When I'm nice, I'm nice because it pleases me to be nice, not because I'm trying to trade it for someone else's niceness. My niceness could probably beat up their niceness, anyway.
22.Which would you choose, true love with a guarantee of a broken heart, or never loved at all? Why?
Love and heartbreak. But that's assuming I could ever be convinced going into it that heartbreak is guaranteed. It's that admitting defeat thing again.
23.If you could do anything or wish anything, what would it be?
Fly. No wait, shapeshift! Because then I'd just grow myself some wings.
24. Why would there be a 24th question, when it says that there are only 23 deep ass questions?
Because the people asking the questions aren't good at math. 1 hour > 1 year? *snorts a laugh and walks away*

Good ol' AC Meme
Posted 13 years agoGood and old, but the first time I've had reason to fill one out. ^^ Copied and pasted from Suck McJones's journal.
How do you want to be addressed?
Yntemid (in-TEH-mid), Ynt (Int), Ferret, or Kyle.
Gender?
male
Age?
27
What do you look like?
Skinny guy with long brown hair and glasses. Likely dressed like a hippy.
How are you getting there?
Driving.
What hotel are you staying at?
DoubleTree
Which days will you be attending?
Thursday through Sunday/Monday
Where/how can I find you?
The same way you can always find me: You probably can't.
Do you do requests?
Sure, if you have a few hours to sit and watch me scribble. As to requests outside of conventions, I don't have the best track record of following through on requests, but it never hurts to ask!
Do you do trades?
Possibly. Time's always a huge factor, and I expect it'll be even moreso at AC.
Do you do commissions?
Would love to! If there's enough interest at the convention, that may become more of a possibility.
Who will you be with?
groverconstantine and
xcxeon
What is your main purpose for attending?
Putting faces to internet friends.
What suits will you have?
A birthday suit! But for Pittsburgh's sake, I'll probably wear a few accessories along with it. Like shoes, and pants.
If I see you, how should I get your attention?
Flailing your arms and breaking into song would do the trick. Or you could just walk up and say hi.
Are you nice?
On occasion!
Can I talk to you?
Of course! And if you're really lucky, I might talk back.
Can I touch/hug/cuddle you?
Certain other con-goers will likely take cuddle-precedence.
You look busy/grumpy. Can I say hi?
Sure thing. If I really feel like keeping to myself, I'll just barricade myself in my inn room.
Can I hang out with you?
Most times, sure.
How can I get in contact with you?
With luck, and lots of it. If you really want to catch me at the con, toss me a note here on FA.
Can I buy you lots of drinks?
Absolutely! Unless they have alcohol in them.
What/where will you be eating?
Beats me. If it comes down to my choice, I'll just spin around in a circle and start walking until I find a restaurant.
What should I not do around you?
Don't worry, if it bugs me, you'll know.
Can I draw/look in your sketchbook?
As long as you ask first, sure! Once I actually get one, that is.
Anything else?
Nope.

Stories and Comics and Such
Posted 13 years agoSo, I've been tossing around the idea of starting a comic version of one of my older stories, but I'm not sure if I feel up to that sort of undertaking. My one real attempt at drawing a comic lasted all of two pages before I gave it up as too much effort, and I expect I'd want at least twenty pages per chapter to do those stories justice. Given current time constraints, that would mean we'd see about one chapter per year. But since I'm in such a contemplative mood, I feel like hearing everyone's opinions on the matter, so here's a little survey:
-Would you rather see episodes of the Dreamer series, Prey No More, Unsacrificeable, or Tiana's Harem illustrated in comic form? Or would you prefer a new story entirely?
-If a comic is made of one of those pre-existing stories, would you like to see it drawn from the very beginning, or have the comics pick up where the written story left off?
Any input's welcome, even "learn to draw faces and hands before trying something this ambitious, you overzealous rodent." Thanks to anyone who comments!
