Posted 13 years agoAbout time to do a recap of FC!
It was an amazing adventure, and I’m glad I could make a second year of it! I’m going to do my best to do a brief day by day recap all the cool stuff that happened!
Thursday: I flew with tilerin and when I got there I was picked up by the Lovely amwulf and we made our way to the con space. We went and got some delicious giant burritos and I eventually got checked in. I had a little bit of work to do on my new suit, but eventually got to suit up in it by the evening. If you made it this far in the journal, you get to know the secret that most everyone at FC already knows… My new suit is sassygayfox and I had a BLAST suiting in him. It was amazing having a suit that was huggable and cuddly and flirty. I got a lot of good feedback on my new suit and was very happy with that! So I suited around a bit that evening and enjoyed meeting people and just hanging out with old friends!
Friday: A WHOLE lot of suiting (I think I suited 7 hours that day) and a lot of drinking and parties and I don’t remember everything XD Highlight of that day was definitely dancing in the warm-up for the dance competition! It was a lot of fun, and I promise you I will be dancing in a competition soon! I also suited up in dbagdawg and danced a whole lot, which was awesome! I also bought a bit of art and was very happy with the stuff I got. AND Last but not least, Delivering the suit to wanderpup. He looked so good in it! It was good to see him happy, and I was happy with the result <3
Saturday: Santa Cruz with wanderpup and rondogator We went on a roller coaster and saw a beach and I kicked everyone’s asses (by like 2 strokes) at Putt Putt! It was a Super blast, and Im so happy I have a friend like Wander to take me out to places like that. <3 Then that night FROLIC. I would love to tell you more but last thing I remember was having a mai tai with dingbat and then there was nothing until morning XD Though I do remember a little bit of singing journey XD Thanks nightterror for taking care of me <3
Sunday: More dancing and hanging out! The night’s sets were AMAZING and I had a blast suiting around in Dbag and such.
Monday: Last day of the connnn. Said bye to a few people and had some great meals with people! It was a blast, Especially amwulf’s impromptu set! He was great <3 And there was smoking hookah on the porch and meeting some new awesome people!
Tuesday: I left. Had to come back to the frozen north. Cried and cried =p

NEW YEARS EVE PARTY
Posted 13 years agoIts that time of the year again... Time to usher in the new year with a celebration of joy, merriment, and alcohol =D
I will be hosting a New Years Eve party at my place on the 31st (duh) starting at 8 PM. There will be a slightly different format this party, as it will be a 21+ party (I WILL check all ID's at the door), and there is a cover of $5. This cost covers alcohol and some snacks! However, if you have a drink of choice that you would like to have, bring it!
I also request that if you are interested in coming, you let me know here on this journal or via text message. I'm gonna be making some delicious treats and want to make sure I have enough!
If you are interested in bringing some snacks or a drink of your choice, feel free! I encourage everyone to bring some sort of snack (Preferably home-made, if ya can!). I will be making sausage balls, pigs in a blanket, and oreo balls (of course). If you do plan on bringing or making something, just let everyone know on a comment so there aren't too many repeats! Desserts and finger foods are welcome.

I'm up in the beautiful state of Washington enjoying times with friends and family. I've already had such an amazing time! I was able to spend the first few days down in Portland with
~Athena~ and in that time I spent time with 
fluffyfennec, and met nightterror, 
tibolf, and 
fuzzyzf which was pretty damn fun. So much drinking, hanging out, and just having fun. Now I'm at something of a middle point in my trip, looking forward to hanging out with a bunch more people in the next week and a half, before I head home and get back to work! There will definitely be a full recap of this trip when I get home.
In other news, I'll be going to FC next month, expect a meme for that when I get back. I will be finishing up two suits and two smaller projects in the month before that, as well as some pics for the art show. Annnd then after FC, I'll open up for more suits. In the long term, next summer I'd like to try making suits full time. I hope to do at least 6 suits in that period, so keep an eye open for a journal about that! Anywho, hope you guys are doing well! I miss my fargo friends a lot, especially you, Ammy! Drive safely.. I'll miss your face when you move =(

Posted 13 years agoWhat a crazy adventure that was. One of my favorite convention experiences so far. I absolutely loved the convention space, the layout (except the artist alley seemed a bit cramped), and the theme of the con. But by far my favorite thing at this convention were the DANCES.
Honestly, Id have a hard time doing a full recap of all the events that happened, (and even harder time remembering them in order XD), so I’ll just put up my highlights.
SUITING: I suited a lot as DBag at this con, and it was So much fun running into people I knew. I even got pictures of me in suit at this con, which sadly didn’t happen much at FWA or AC. I also suited a bit more as Yonoa than I had in the last couple of cons, which was a blast to do. I feel my portrayal of Yonoa is getting stronger, which makes me more comfortable in him.
PEEPS: I LOVED meeting new people, and hanging out with some that I had only knew online.

DANCING: I Loved the dances at this con. Even the throwback/retro one had me dancing my ass off to the Timewarp and Greased Lightning. There were So many good sets, starting with
rawkz0rz and then just going on from there. I’m not the best at remembering DJ’s names, but I do know I had an amazing time and never wanted those nights to stop.
FOOD: I Love eating. Secret passion of mine. The con was pretty darn close to some decent food, and I ate it at all hours of the night (including 5 am runs to 7-11, two nights in a row). I enjoy getting meals with my friends, relaxing for a few minutes, and taking the time to get to know one another. My favorite meal was probably Sushiland, just because SUSHI+CONVEYOR BELTS. Do I need to say anything else?
Overall it was a great convention. I cannot express to everyone the sheer volumes of love I have for them. I think about you guys so much, and look forward to the next time we get to spend time together. I wish I could hug you all so tight. You guys give me so much joy and that keeps my heart warm and my head lifted.

So, like any con, I'll be doing badges! I kinda wanna do some scifi/steampunk themed stuff, and will be working on an example in the near future (hopefully this weekend). They will be 15 dollars a piece, done in watercolor/acrylic. If you're interested, lemme know. But more information will be to come. I can also do booze badges, or just whatever if you want, laminated and with a badge clip, for ten dollars. I'll do an official RF meme soon =3

I'm gonna start havin' a life again =D In the next couple of weeks, I'm going to be submitting a bunch of pics that I hadn't uploaded until now. I'll try to keep it at just a few a day so its not overwhelming, but I Have something like 100 pictures (over Yonoa's and DBag's accounts) to upload. So bear with me on this ^//^

I'm gonna start havin' a life again =D In the next couple of weeks, I'm going to be submitting a bunch of pics that I hadn't uploaded until now. I'll try to keep it at just a few a day so its not overwhelming, but I Have something like 100 pictures (over Yonoa's and DBag's accounts) to upload. So bear with me on this ^//^
I also plan on workin a lot more on art and suits, so expect to see a new suit from me in the next month, and a lot more streaming from me!

Life updates

Sorry for being so quiet. Work has had me incredibly busy, working about 14 hours a day for the last week or so. The musical I have been working on has gone under some tough times, dealing with the complete lack of competence by once of the crew leaders. I have had to step in and take control of the scenic department, and dealing with the mess that he made. Life has been very stressful on that front.
On the personal front I've been dealing with some tough times. Mostly it has been difficult having had my best friend moving away. I miss having someone around that I can vent to about difficult things, and just straight up gossip with. I have many other friends here, and I care for them greatly, but he and I connected on many levels and I just miss that. But even with the stress going on, I have had a few friends that have really made me smile in hard times. Thanks Joey, Wyn, Myst, Emerson, Subby, Scruffy, Kerochu, and all the others that have said kind words. It really means a lot to know who my friends are. I have a bit of soul searching to do, but thats part of life.
On Friday my work will be significantly less, and I look forward to catching up a bit on rest and all the personal things I've been putting off. I have about 1200 messages to to go through on FA, and look forward to catching up with it all. *hugs to all of you good people* I cant wait to get back to art and suit making again.

No really, Hes movin away, and I want to have a celebration to say how much we love him and are going to miss him. So here's the details:
Taco in a BAG Party =D
Saturday, June 23rd
Starting at 5 PM, My place (if you need directions, PM me, or text)
Going until whenever! This is a come and go event... Food will be served at 6:30 or so.

Posted 13 years agoPeople keep asking me to describe Anthrocon, and the word that keeps coming up Is Amazing. Really, every day had something amazing about it and man, it was a Blast running into old friends and making new ones. If I had to give one major complaint it was that there just wasn’t enough time. Instead of doing a day breakdown, I’ll do a recap of some of my favorite moments:
Getting a badge from
michele_light This one may seem silly, but I’ve been active on and off in the fandom since the mid nineties. She was the artist that really got me to fall in love with furry art, and though I never could figure out how to draw in that style, I adored everything that came from her. It was a complete fanboy experience.
Giving
thereddog his suit, and seeing how it impacted him. As a super amateur suit maker, I have the chance to get to know, at least on some level, those who I make suits for. Its amazing to me to watch someone change when they wear a suit, and recount to me the euphoria they had as people came up and hugged them, talked to them, admired them for the first time. It really inspires me to work harder on my own suits, and push my abilities to another level to see what an impact my work can have on those I make suits for.
Meeting new people! I gotta say there were a ton of people I met for the first time, but three of them really made my convention.

badger_c were all awesome to talk to and get to know, and I know that those friendships will last a long time.
Fursuiting! Wow it was cool to suit so much. One night I kinda went solo in the streets of Pittsburg for about an hour, and just kept on doing photos with people while I was my DBaggish self. It was so amazing to get people to smile, even those who were obviously not comfortable with it at first.
There was soooo much this convention offered and I was able to experience. I can’t possibly write it all down, but I’m gonna try to make a few more little points that helped make this convention fun:

Meeting some of the fursuit makers I looked up to. I totally fanboyed when I talked with these guys but hopefully it didn’t come across that way.
Seeing a ton of friends that I hadn’t seen in forever! MJ, Evauk, Thay, Digby, Swivel, Disturbia, Kiba, Tora, Eleete, Revit, Jyno, and oh so many more. I wish I could remember Everyone right now, but you all know how big that con was.
AC last year was my first convention. It was… okay… but this year I feel like I both understood conventions and myself much more, and was able to enjoy what was happening on many new levels. Thanks for everyone that made this experience awesome! See you soon =D

Mayventure Report!
Posted 13 years agoI got back from my wonderful trip at 10:30 Sunday night and I have been working on writing a summary of sorts of the adventure. I’ll cut to the chase and share what happened on this journey:
Friday, May 11: Left Fargo at 9ish with a car full of suits, snacks, and energy drinks and got my way all the way to Milwaukee Wisconsin, a mere 9 hours of driving. While there, I met up with
jyno and had a pretty amazing night. We headed off to an Amazing little restaurant where we sat on the roof with three other really cool people. I wish I could remember the name of the restaurant, or the name of the people, but the only one I remember is 
venaul, who suggested a beer that was definitely the best beer I have ever had, the Gulden Draak. After dinner, we headed to the shore of lake Michigan and went to a bonfire on the beach. It was a fun night of making new friends, reconnecting with old acquaintances, and getting scarred from a very drunk woman XD with the fire, the stars, the hookah, and the people, I didn’t want the night to end, but at around 5 am, I finally flopped into bed and slept.
Saturday, May 12: Slept until 7, when I got up, showered, said goodbye to Jyno (who apparently didn’t wake up, even though he said goodbye too XD), stopped at Dunkin Donuts, and went on my way. After a slight change in destination, I drove 7 hours to Cincinnati, and arrived just at the bowling alley that the furmeet was at just before everyone else did. I had a blast suiting in DBag and bowling horribly. I met with thereddog, 
grixfox, 
eleete, 
nightprowler, and 
revit, as well as many many more. It was a lot of fun, though I was absolutely exhausted. We headed out to a weird ass chili place, Gold Star Chili, and though I didn’t eat much, I still crave it cuz it was good. I got to spend time talking with Tora, Revit, and others, and it was a blast. That evening I went to Grix’s place and we played classic Nintendo games, chatted, and I crashed early from exhaustion.
Sunday, May 13: Slept in a little, played some games, and went to lunch with Grix at Big Boy. I was hoping to go to Cedar Point that day, but it just wasn’t in the cards. I enjoyed the day, however, as it was very nice just talking with Grix and learn about him. I was very happy I got to know him better. Such a nice guy (and what a cuuuuute suit!). In the afternoon I headed off to Dayton, and met with Satorii at his place of work. It was fun to meet him, and to play some games at his place that I know he was passionate about, and went to dinner at a little bar that was pretty darn good.
Monday, May 14: Played games, hung out, and went to Jungle Jims, the best grocery store EVER. Really this day was pretty simple, but nice to kinda relax after all the driving that I had done in previous days. We got some amazing food at the store, and had a fun night back at Satorii’s place.
Tuesday, May 15: CEDAR POINT! What an Amazing day!! I got Satorii to ride ALL the rides, which was a feat because he had never done one, and he was scared out of his mind. But it was really awesome to connect with him there, to share some cool experiences, and see him get more excited about something that I love. Some great memories were had there, and I’m happy I got this trip. The lines were non-existent, the weather was perfect, and the company was great. The day was magical.
Wednesday, May 16th: Headed out to Michigan to meet
narf1070. We ate some… interesting… Moroccan food, watched Archer late into the night, and got to spend a little time connecting.
Thursday, May 17th: Got to explore Ann Arbor with Narf and his friend, and did fun things like go to an arcade, have bubble tea, and explore the town on foot (twice XD ). Due to a change of plans, I decided to head down to Dayton again and spend time with Satorii. We spent the evening together, talked, played games, and had a pretty good night.
Friday, May 18th: Spent the morning with Satorii, before heading to Indianapolis to visit Tora and Eleete. That evening I got to eat some Amazing sushi, and meet
mtendotheskunk, and we ended the evening chatting and playing with liquid nitrogen with Revit.
Saturday, May 19th: Looking back, this was probably my favorite day for a few reasons. Breakfast was a great greek omelette, with excellent company. The furmeet/cookout was a blast, and I LOVED suiting at it. I met so many cool people, and found it a good meet to connect with others on. After that, we went to Tora’s place and continued the fun. It was a blast meeting new people, especially
stormhusky, suiting late into the night, snuggling, and talking under the stars by a fire. Funny how the trip started and ended in sort of the same way. Oh yeah… and Irish Car Bombs XD For some reason that night had a great impact on me, and though I wasn’t expecting it to end up the way it did, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Sunday, May 20th: Got up, had a great little meal with my friends, and headed off on a 15 hour drive home. Lots of time for self-reflection, and letting all the stuff from the previous week soak in. I was so happy to finally get home and crash in my bed.
Thank you all who made this trip as aMAYzing as it was! I was hoping to have an adventure, to meet new people… to spend time with those I had never actually spent time with in person… and it was a wonderful success.

Posted 13 years agoSo coming up soon I'm gonna be taking a little road trip. I'm going to be heading from Fargo ND, down to Ohio, and visiting friends along the way. I'm still working out details (like who I'm going to be staying with/hanging out with), but this is the schedule so far.
May 10- Leave Fargo, early morning, arrive in Chicago or thereabouts to spend the night - STILL LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO STAY: if you are around here and wanna offer your house for the night, I wouldn't mind =3
May 11- Chicago to Ohio to visit

Low Key Local Cookout: Friday the 20th!

Friday, the 20th, at my house, there will be a low key furmeet! I have a friend coming in from out of town, and think it would be cool to just have a little shindig to socialize.
So here are the deets!
Starting at 6 at my place in North Fargo we will be doing a little cookout. I will provide hot dogs and buns, but if you come, you need to bring something! SO below is a list of things that we need-
Soda- in 2 liter form please
Ice
Chips
Dessert of some sort
If you are coming, please RSVP in the comments below, and say what you are going to bring!! Also if you have any sort of yard games (ladderball, corn hole, etc), feel free to bring it, and let me know what you're going to bring.

Theres a lot I like about myself... but right now I think it is my honesty.

My lack of motivation at work has been quite crippling this year. It seems I have lost my passion for theater... but maybe it is just how I feel about this location.

Umm... I guess that I'm personable? I tend to get along with people really well.

To teach in a theatre, have enough time to go to cons, and make art and fursuits and other crafty things on the side. ALSO to TRAVEL and EXPLORE. I have a thirst for adventure that really needs quenching

And this list isnt exhaustive, but who I saw the quickest on my messengers XD

Oh my god those Veggie Straw things. I cant stop eating those when I get a bag. I obsess over them. If I know I have a bag at home its all I think about on my ride there. Its bad D=

hmm thats tough. I think Onions kill food a lot, when they're overused. Mushrooms arent a good thing for me (texture issues)...

PEOPLE WHO SAY IM SORRY FOR NO REASON! If you Didnt do anything wrong, don't say I'm sorry. (I remember someone saying, "I'm really sorry your mother died" to me not so long ago, and I Gasped and said "IT WAS YOU THAT KILLED HER, WASNT IT!?!"
People who cannot behave in public places.
People who refuse to be honest even when they KNOW you know whats up.
When people tell you your work isn't worth the value you put on it. Heck when people go crazy over the price of any artist's work. Just cuz you cant imagine paying for it, doesn't mean someone wont. If its not selling, then yeah the artist might have put too high a price on their work, but if it is, then who are you to poo poo on them! THATS RIGHT, I said POO POO

Super nice people who are nice for no reason XD Like, barbie doll nice.

Adult swim live action tv shows. WTF man. Hell most of the adult swim shows kinda suck. Ask Amwulf, he has seen me rant about how I think reality television is the death of decent culture in America XD )

FWA wrapup and other things
Posted 13 years agoLong time no update, so here we go, really quickly:
FWA was a lot of fun. Honestly not my favorite con, (that is reserved for FC right now) but I met some great people and had some fun suiting experiences.
Coming back home from FWA, on the other hand, has been one bad experience after the other. If you know my life story, you know that I came home to an empty shell of a house that held some really happy memories, only to find it empty and cold. While it has been great to have Amwulf move in with me (hes a really awesome roomy), I have never felt more alone. I'll probably do another livejournal post about what all I'm going through soon. But needless to say, it has been difficult to deal with the loneliness. I don't really feel like talking about it with people, and I dont really feel like hugging when people want it. I think I just need time to cope with things on my own.
On top of that, my job basically denied me a promotion because I missed a day. When I told them why (because I came home to an empty house and felt crippling depression), they were pretty unsympathetic. So not only was I not offered the job (I'm still going to apply for it again), I will be losing a design next year as well. I was originally told when I interviewed for this job that I would be teaching full classes, and that has yet to happen (I have been here 2 years now). So I'm on the hunt for a new job. Which is also difficult because I just bought a house here in Fargo.
So It has been hard to find motivation to do much of anything. Work has been overwhelming, and the current show is just gigantic. I had to take less hours on for my summer job, because I had no time left in the day. I have been worked over 70 hours in the last week. And I can't really see an end in sight anymore.
Sooooo thanks for listening to my bitchfest. I really don't like sharing this sort of stuff with people, but I thought I would share. There's a lot more happening than this, but you don't wanna know every detail, do ya? =P

I will be arriving super late on Thursday night, and staying through until Monday morning. I hope to see a lot of amazing people there and enjoy some time away from the land that is Fargo.
I should be running around in Yonoa and DBag a lot, probably for the majority of the time in DBag.
Also, I'm lookin for someone to possibly wear Yonoa in the parade. Gotta be about 6', and 180lbs. If you're interested, find me at the con =3
When I'm not suiting, I'll be hanging out with awesome people, and getting some commissions done. I have saved up a good deal of money for this con, so I'm excited to actually be able to get art, and other things! If you see the pink tufted cougar, please say hi =D
