Number Hunters Saga / Sign ups~! ( Will be updated )
Posted 11 years agoWelcome to the number hunters event. This will not be your normal event, but an event for the lasting. First things first. This event is exactly what you think it is, it's about collecting the most numbers, but not only for you, but for your team. This will be our first team event among the admins to use teammates and possibly tag duels ( Dev/YGO pro ) at your disposal. The team leaders will be the following:
hardcoreacolyte
Syruswolfos
werewolfjedi5 ( May be changed depending on activity or new teams )
Team captains will also be chosen to go with the team leaders who will be given more numbers than usual, more of an ace card for the team outside of the leaders. All Captains will get 2-3 numbers for use, as the members will get 1-2. If a player should be without a number, More shall be given from the leaders or captains if they are willing to give from the team stock, or their won numbers.
Each teams numbers are also balanced out so they each have main archtype numbers, and their own numbers for use so all teams will have equality. For example, Gimmick puppets, Heraldic and Chronomally... As they have the most Archtype in numbers so will be divided.
As for the team Vault or storage, numbers will be put aside if there are few players on the team or some you want to put aside for new and joining players. Make sure you know what numbers you give them and the skill level to use certain numbers so it helps them win. If other team mates want to share strats with the other memebers and help construct a deck with said number, that is fine. No, you are not allowed to choose whos team you want to be on as we will balance out all teams in skill level and casual fun. There are some special rules to be taken into this event with the addition of some additional out of place rules that will be listed.
Rules :
---- Constructing and Usage.
1 : Make sure your deck is TCG formatted, using cards released to us and/or TCG exclusives only in this event.
2 : Any OCG cards including the Extra deck, Main deck or even the Side deck found used or in play, the player will take a loss on that round of the match and must have the card(s removed from the deck. ( Same rule applies for unreleased cards as followed. )
3 : Make sure your deck is 100% before play. If you forgot any card(s) to add to the deck and want to change them ? You will not be able to do so. Once you enter the duel, it's final.
---- Members and code of conduct.
1 : No insulting or name calling . That goes without warning, if done enough, you can be banished from the event if it continues.
2 : Don't be salty... and by that, don't lose then be disrespectful or " I woulda won if " moment. Just play the game and have fun. As a fair warning for those non meta players, this is a meta event on a huge scale, play what you know and go with it.
3 : Netdecking has always been an issue and officially it will happen despite standings. Just be prepared for anything or that specific deck. Don't call your opponent out for net decking just cause you cant win or it's an issue or deck yours cant handle. ( Ex Traptrix/Artifact ).
---- Yugifurs Specifics
1 : Be sure to post on time and to play your matches on time. We have problems in the past of people not posting their matches so now we have a few different solutions.
- Players not posting accurate scoring will be penalized.
- Players not playing their matches or not responding to player duel request when ready will lose the round.
- Be sure to schedule matches if you have busy days, schooling or etc so you can plan accordingly. Make sure your opponent agrees to the terms. If time cannot come to an agreement, contact an admin. Make sure you have time to spare before entering this event.
2 : No arguing or posting threats, insults or anything else on the yugifurs page or journals. You will get a warning and if continued, a week ban from the page.
--- Special Ruled EXCLUSIVELY for this Event
1 : You cannot use other number XYZ monsters than the ones you are given. If your number have a chaos XYZ, then you may use it as your own. EX: 101. You cannot use no Synchro, or pendulum monsters in the extra deck. You may only use fusion monsters that are non archtype related. ( No Elemental heroes, Shaddoll, Gem knight, Cybers, etc.
2: Numbers can not be destroyed by battle except with another number monster, just like the anime. They can still be destroyed by effects and the like from any other monster.
3: You can ONLY obtain another players number by playing your own and either attacking, do damage, or activate the use of it's effect, or destroying the other players number. When you win the duel, you may pick one of the other players numbers to take for your own use, be sure to include it when you post your win so it can be swamped around.
4: Cards from " The New Challengers " Are usable in this event since its days away, however, the above rules still applies to this.
Rules will/may be added or changed though final once the Event starts.
Event starts 11/7/2014
NOTE : This is an ongoing event and players may enter or drop out at any time. Any extra numbers will be given to the team captains or leaders.

Archetype Informer: Archfiend
Posted 11 years agoGreetings to you on this Halloween Eve! Today we are going to cover a spooky group of cards that'll leave you terrified for your Life Points: Archfiends!
Now, there are technically three groups these guys go into. There's the ones that came first and are based on chess pieces and revolve around taking your own Life Points. There's the new wave of cards that are more versatile, and there are those that have "This is treated as an Archfiend Card"/have Archfiend in the name. We're tackling the new wave genre
MONSTERS
Archfiend Cavalry
Archfiend Heiress
Archfiend Commander
Archfiend Emperor, the First Lord of Horror
Archfiend Empress
Archfiend Giant
SPELLS
Archfiend Palabyrinth
Falling Down
TRAPS
Archfiend's Roar
STRATEGY
The overall point of these guys is to search your deck once they're destroyed, bring out the big ones and then power them up. Its a search and destroy deck, and if played right you should be able to get what you need quickly and handle most threats
OPTIONS FOR THE DECK
Masked Chameleon: Since Heiress and Cavalry have 0 DEF, this guy can bring them back for an XYZ or Synchro Summon
Secret Sect Druid Dru: Same reasoning as Masked Chameleon, allow for an instant Rank 4 XYZ Summon
Nefarious Archfiend Marmot of Nefariousness: Allows combos to be played with Cavalry and Heiress
COMBOS
While you have Archfiend Cavalry or Heiress out, you can summon Commander, which will then destroy it and allow you to either search or summon
Using Nefarious Archfiend with Cavalry or Heiress allows you to not only search or summon, but bring itself to the field. This allows for even more Extra Deck Plays
FINAL WORDS
These guys are pretty cool despite having a limited range of combos and ways to play them. If played right its a fast little group of cards that should help make your Halloween all the more fun~

Upcoming event. " Number Hunters Saga "
Posted 11 years agoThanks to
spectrepaw for winning the tourney for the Yugifurs WC's, More to come. However, instead of doing a Halloween themed tourney this time around, we will be providing the first TEAM based event . We are working together to make a competitive yet fun team based event where we all can duel, but have a goal at the same time. This event will not stop, and is ongoing outside of tourney play. I'd like to introduce the Number Hunters Saga event. Teams will be split up among participating Admins and moderators on any who want to join. IF you want to join a specific team, go for it, but for balancing issues, all teams will have similar and size among the skill and casual players so things won't seem one sided. Every month, players are given a specific amount of numbers to use, and must duel with those numbers as they key card and must always be in their deck. You can only collect the other teams number if you play one of your own atleast once. You are limited to only XYZ monster and can only use numbers that are provided to you. You can use as many copies as that number, and if you have a Chaos numbers to match, that is also usable within your reach wth no restrictions. Fusions are usable, but NON arch-type fusions only. ( No Shaddoll, E-heroes, Dark Magician Variants, Gemknights etc ) Reason for this is, normal fusion play and instant fusion can make XYZ plays much easier for non meta decks, and is easily tossed into play. Synchroes and pendulums will have NO play in this event.
More information on this event coming soon.

YugiFurs WC's - Round 7 ( Elimination Round )
Posted 11 years agoIt's been a while since we had a tourney on this scale, as this is going to be our first 2 part tourney. The rules will reflect TCG and all cards usable in this tourney will reflect that of the new Duelist Alliance pack on the 15th. The cards will be usable in the tourney as soon as they are released so prepare for the pendulum scale. As of now, we will be using the FORBIDDEN & LIMITED LISTS from July 14, 2014 for all the usage of cards. If you don't have a clue or questions about what cards are in the balance, click the link below.
( Note. The 10 Exclusive cards in the Battle Pack 3 are legal upon release of the booster pack. )
http://www.yugioh-card.com/en/limited/index.html
As said, this will be a two part tourney, one taking place later this year in September to compensate for the one here. This tourney will have 6 rounds, The first 4 rounds will be calculated in points as the last two rounds, players are eliminated depending on performance and placing. No matter what, the players that makes it to the semi finals round will be entered at the final lap for the WCs second round with priority on the next tourneys standings. So placing high here will give you an edge over the next round of WCs. Upon the 2nd round, we will have a qualifiers tourney before the main event to drag a few remaining players to the Yugifurs YCs, as not all may enter the round two event as we plan to have the best of the best within it's reach. Honorable mentions declared by admins or by vote of top players can also have a chance at round two if they fail to place in round one of WCs.
Duels can be played over YGO/Dev pro or Dueling Network. Some major rules will also be in place for these as even the cards on the sites are labeled for usage. So please pay attention. Here are some of the rules you should know when constructing a deck, talking with other members / players, card usage and other rules that applies to this tourney.
Rules :
---- Constructing and Usage.
1 : Make sure your deck is TCG formatted, using cards released to us and/or TCG exclusives only in this tourney.
4 : ( PLEASE READ ) Artifact and Traptrix cannot be in the same deck in this tourney. Nothing truly wrong with it, but since the official world championships has passed and that deck did almost TOO good for its own good, the usage of them together is being limited to avoid copies of the WC deck.
---- Members and code of conduct.
1 : No insulting or name calling . That goes without warning, if done enough, you can be banished from the tourney if it continues.
2 : Don't be salty... and by that, don't lose then be disrespectful or " I woulda won if " moment. Just play the game and have fun. As a fair warning for those non meta players, this is a meta tourney on a huge scale, play what you know and go with it.
3 : Netdecking has always been an issue and officially it will happen despite standings. Just be prepared for anything or that specific deck. Don't call your opponent out for net decking just cause you cant win or it's an issue or deck yours cant handle. ( Ex Traptrix/Artifact ).

Make sure you have time to spare before entering this tourney.
2 : No arguing or posting threats, insults or anything else on the yugifurs page or journals. You will get a warning and if continued, a week ban from the page.
Rules will/may be added or changed though final once the tourney starts.
This tourney will affect the leaderboards.

YugiFurs WC's - Round 5

Yugifurs WCs - Round 2 - Correction
Posted 11 years ago**** THIS TOURNEY IS STILL ACCEPTING PLAYERS ****
Entering this tourney in the first round of this started tourney grants no penalty. Shall there be a by situation because of the odd entry, the player will receive a drawing score of 2 points. IF more players enter that has not played, they will be paired up right away with the following entry. Appearing any later in the tourney will grant a negative point of 1.
It's been a while since we had a tourney on this scale, as this is going to be our first 2 part tourney.
( Note. The 10 Exclusive cards in the Battle Pack 3 are legal upon release of the booster pack. )

---- Yugifurs Specifics
1 : Be sure to post on time and to play your matches on time. We have problems in the past of people not posting their matches so now we have a few different solutions.
- Players not posting accurate scoring will be penalized.

- Be sure to schedule matches if you have busy days, schooling or etc so you can plan accordingly. Make sure your opponent agrees to the terms. If time cannot come to an agreement, contact an admin. Make sure you have time to spare before entering this tourney.
2 : No arguing or posting threats, insults or anything else on the yugifurs page or journals. You will get a warning and if continued, a week ban from the page.

Yugifurs WCs Round 1 ! Sign up~! r2 ( May be updated )

Archetype Informer: Heroic
Posted 11 years agoArchetype Informer is back, and we're taking on a new league of warriors today! Well, technically they're old, but they have some new tricks up their sleeves, so lets dive into Heroics!
Much like the majority of decks these days, these guys have the primary function of swarming monsters to XYZ Summon from the Extra Deck. However, unlike most archetypes, they actually have other aspects of them that make them very flexible. They can search out themselves, manipulate their ATK to very high stats, redirect attacks, and overall make attacking them a bad idea
First, let us tackle the archetype's cards:
MONSTERS
Heroic Challenger - Clasp Sword
Heroic Challenger - Ambush Soldier
Heroic Challenger - Sword Shield
Heroic Challenger - Extra Sword
Heroic Challenger - Assault Halberd
Heroic Challenger Spartas
Heroic Challenger - Thousand Swords
Heroic Challenger Night Watchman
Heroic Challenger - Double Lance
Heroic Challenger - War Hammer
SPELLS
Heroic Chance
TRAPS
Heroic Advance
Heroic Gift
Heroic Retribution Sword
EXTRA
Heroic Champion - Excalibur
Heroic Champion - Gandiva
Heroic Champion - Kusanagi
Number 86: Heroic Champion Rhongomiant
Next up, here are some cards these guys can benefit from:
1.) The usual Warrior-esqe staples like Reinforcement of the Army and The Warrior Returning Alive for searching out key monsters for a giving situation
2,) Call of the Haunted for bringing back monsters for XYZ Summons or to make use of your Spells and Traps to take the offensive with
3.) Foolish Burial to help with plays involving Double Lance and Ambush Soldier
4.) For you players focusing on the Number, Overlay Capture and XY Revenge can help extend your monster's usefulness by taking overlay units
Now, as per most decks that swarm and XYZ, there aren't many actual combos you can pull off outside of playing something just to bring something else out. But Heroics freshen things up a bit with their support:
1.) If you have Spartas out with another Heroic monster, you can use his ability to gain ATK, and if you chain Advance to it, not only will his ATK double AND get his own ability's bonus, but since Advance stops battle destruction, the chain resolves with your opponent's monster having to attack a super powered Sparta twice for massive damage
2.) If you want to get out monsters quickly for the Number, Special Summon Halberd and then bring out Thousand. Discard a monster (preferably Double Lance or Ambush Soldier for future plays) to bring out another monster (if its Extra Sword, you'll have more ATK to work with) and you'll have a three unit Rhongomiant
3.) With Ambush Soldier, you can bring out two new Heroics and change their levels to one. Bring Clasp Sword out next and you have enough materials to make Number 54: Lion Heart!
Heroics have flown under the radar for awhile now, but they have potential to not only make a comeback, but to start making a firm presence within the game. Why not help them out and give them a try?

Archetype Informer: Entermate
Posted 11 years agoTime for another Archetype Informer! This time around we're tackling a new breed of monsters, ones made to make you laugh: Entermate!
Now, these are along the new Pendulum line of cards, so there isn't much to work with, but there's a lot that can be explored. So, lets see what we have:
MONSTERS
Entermate Bugondola
Entermate Cheermole
Entermate Discover Hippo
Entermate Kaleido Scorpion
Entermate Silver Claw
Entermate Sword Fish
Entermate Thunderhino
Entermate Tiptoad
Entermate Trampolynx
Entermate Warrior Tiger
Entermate Whip Viper
Now, since these cards are so new and have yet to really be tested, there's not a whole lot I cane say about them. However, I have tested them a bit, and the big point of them is to mess with ATK points. Most monster increase or decrease the ATK or DEF of themselves to gain better stats, and others actually swap the ATK and DEF of opposing monsters to help gain advantage over them. As such, here a re a few cards to go with these strategies:
Shrink! - Cutes the ATK of a monster in half, useful if swapping their ATK and DEF isn't enough
Riryoku - Same concept as Shrink, only your monsters get a boost as well
Shield and Sword - The Spell version of Whip Viper that can come in handy if you don't draw said monster
Mask of Weakness - Lowers an opponent's monster's ATK by 700, so it can help with getting an edge on certain cards
Ego Boost - Works well with Cheermole and Tiptoad
So, since these cards are so new and Pendulum Summoning is still in the experimental phases, this deck is a unique one that's fun to mess around with. I recommend it for a fun time if you want something that's underplayed but can get you to laugh~

Posted 11 years agoTime to kick of this tournament with round one! You'll have until next Thursday to complete you duels, and if you get done early then we can head on to round two
Now, please bare in mind that if you were added but are not able to compete, it is because you showed an interest but did not say you couldn't compete (I didn't want to exclude people and them get angry) If you want to be withdrawn, just say so
Aslo, it might be a good idea to have the YugiWiki out when you duel. That way when you use manga or video game cards, you can answer questions as to what chapter or game it was used in:

May Tournament - Nostalgic Memories (Sign-Up)
Posted 11 years agoFirst off, thank you to the few people who took part in last month's competition. There were only three who partook, which makes handing out prizes difficult to do. Since only three people entered, and there were only three spots (two of which were tied) its not easy to figure out who should get what art. So, while we figure out what to do, here's the idea for this month
I know a lot of people are wanting this Number Hunters tournament to be a reality, and it will be soon enough, However, there are still communication issues taking place and the two people running the tournament in question have been very busy and unable to get it going. So, until they have the time and are able to get things in order, the idea as a whole is going to be postponed until further notice. Our apologies for this
As for this month's shindig, there's going to be something a little different. What's going to happen is that everybody who signs up is to pick a character from the anime and remake their deck. It can be from Duel Monsters, GX, 5Ds, or Zexal, and any character you want. Now, the tricky part is that you can only use cards the person used in the show (or video games if you don't have a sufficient amount), only the amount of cards that person used, and only the cards in their era. (Also, one banned card is allowed as long as the person used it)
For example, if you want to use Yugi's deck, he only used one copy of Mirror Force, and XYZs didn't exist in his time period. There for, the only cards in his Extra Deck would be the Fusions he used, and the one copy of that trap he had. This way, we get a good dose of nostalgia and can be a bit creative as we use the decks of the characters we've come to love
This is going to me a knock out tournament, so if you lose your match, you're out of the tournament. Sign-ups will go on for the next two days
Since I will not be partaking in this tournament, you may note me in regards to if your deck holds to the rules~

March Results and April Challenge
Posted 11 years agoFirst and foremost, congratulations to our winner of the March 2014 Swiss Style Tournament
and his Watt Deck! Also, a big round of applause to everyone who competed for their outstanding performances, hopefully everybody had fun during the course of this month!
As for April, the Number Hunters tournament is still in the process of being fine tuned. There's been a bit of a hiccup getting things planned and a few communication issues, so this month there isn't going to be a tournament, par ce
Instead, while the YugiFurs staff work on getting this big shindig planned out, anybody here is allowed to challenge
or
. You can challenge them as many times as you like (within reason, they have their own schedules to attend to) and each time you win, you get 1 point
At the end of the month, the three people with the most points will each get a picture from Stripes himself. Third place will get a sketch, second will get a flat color, and first will get a full on free commission
If any other staff members wish to get in on this so Stripes and Bryan don't have to bare the load, then sign your name up here. Best of dueling!
