Future commissions - Checking interest for when I open up...
Posted 3 months agoEven if you read this journal JUST NOW, anytime after I posted it, you can still reply. I would love to know!
Hello everybody! I haven't opened for commissions since like 2018 I believe and thought I would ask all of you my wonderful followers a bit about commissions and see how much interest there currently is. My hand and arm is finally starting to heal well after my ordeal of mistreatments that caused more then 3 years of problems and me hardly being able to do much - much less draw. I am able to do a bit of drawing more then ever in the last years now but not yet comfortable enough to take commissions. I hope to be fully recovered in hopefully not too long. :)
I am curious what kind of commissions you would want to get from me in the future. You want to order commisions of your own characters with friends characters? You want to put my characters like Gwen or Mio with your own characters (which I am totally fine with)? Illustrations, sketches or animations? Adoptables or YCHs? Stuff like that.
You can link to examples, show your own OCs etc if you wish as I am curious about that too.
I am just mainly wanting to check everyone's interests and take notes for when I open up! :)

So I finally did it, I made a Patreon account
Posted 6 years agoI got off my ass and finally made myself a Patreon, since I heard they will change the rates and all after May 1st. I been thinking about getting one for a veeery long time, but didn't get around to it - untill now because of the rate change.
Here it is for those who want to take a peak and hopefully subscribe to me! https://www.patreon.com/zaggatar
I wanted to use my patreon for funding me doing future art and so, hopefully comics etc too! I thought I would post as I usually do, but I will release things to the public one month after I release it to Patreon! There are some tiers, some that will make it possible to get a sketch of me per month or possibly win one sketch in "spin the wheel" streams!
I hope you wan't to follow me on my Patreon! Do let me know what you think about this. :)

Commission idea poll!
Posted 7 years agoI made a poll! When it comes to commissions, adoptables etc - I wonder what kinda things my followers are interested in? I made this lil poll. I also had idea of "demonification" or something similar of peoples characters. Like give me your character and I change it a bit or a lot. C&C welcome!

Got the fatigue
Posted 7 years agoI just need to tell everyone I got the fatigue when it comes to drawing furry stuff. I was going to disable my account, which I did for some time, but I really should tell everyone watching me why and it is probably a better idea to leave it open as it is since I will return sometime. It is just that I need to focus on other stuff, I drawn too much furry stuff and I am tired of it as of now.
I will post the commission I am making for
elisonous which is almost done and then I need to focus on non-furry stuff for a while.
Doing the disappearing act is quite silly of me I realize. Sorry about that!

Terms Of Service
Posted 8 years agoYOU AGREE THAT YOU ARE OVER THE AGE OF 18 AND ARE OTHERWISE CAPABLE OF ENTERING INTO A LEGAL CONTRACT.
These Terms are viewable at any time at: - If this service is down and you need secondary access to these Terms, contact me.
1. OUR RELATIONSHIP
You, the commissioner, are commissioning me, Zaggatar, as an independent professional to create an original work of art. I am free to provide my services to others during completion of your Service. At the completion of this Service you will be granted a license to use the Final Work. You are not purchasing a physical or digital good.
I, Zaggatar, have the full right to under any circumstance deny my services and I have the right to deny a commission if it does not agree with my aesthetic or if the subject matter is not to my liking.
2. PRICES
All prices listed are in Euro (EUR) and are considered to be "base"—your cost may be higher depending on the Scope of this Service. After I receive your application I will e-mail you a quote with the cost of this Service. This cost is negotiable. Payment means that you agree with the cost of Service.
3. PAYMENT
After applying, if I have accepted your commission you will be e-mailed a quote and I will invoice you through Paypal. PLEASE WAIT FOR THE INVOICE. Payments received outside of these invoices will be treated as a tip.
Payment must be made before the commission is started on.
If you ARE NOT a first time commissioner, or if you are seeking a very high value (€1,000+) commission, you may seek an alternate payment plan. These will only be allowed under special circumstances, at my discretion. We will work out the arrangements before I accept your commission. Do not assume a payment plan is possible without consulting me first.
4. REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS
If you need to cancel this Service, I can accommodate for refunds (except as follows: NO refunds on adoptables. Refunds on wing-its, in-streams, or YCH auctions will only be given before work begins.)
You will allow me one to four weeks to process any refunds, and will be refunded according to this structure:
a. If work has not begun, your refund will be full. Otherwise:
b. If the Sketch has not been approved, your refund will be the cost minus €25. Otherwise:
c. If the Sketch has been approved and work is still ongoing, your refund will be reduced by the listed price of whatever the most recent work in progress ("WIP") would qualify as according to my prices. Otherwise:
d. Upon Finalization or very close to Finalization, no refunds will be issued.
If you breach these Terms at any point, the Service will be cancelled and you will not be refunded. I reserve the right to cancel this Service for any other reason, including none, and in this case you will be refunded fully, regardless of progress.
5. REVISIONS
PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO POINT OUT ANY MISTAKES. If I make mistakes during this Service I will make any changes necessary to correct them with no additional charge.
Prior to the Sketch being approved I will make an unlimited number of changes to the Sketch within the Scope of this Service. But you cannot decide TOO many times to do major changes. But things like “I want his/her tail to go this way instead” or very minor changes don’t count towards this. Mistakes will be rectified of course immediately if I do any wrongs in the character design, like “Oops I forgot her tail”. If the Sketch has been approved, revision requests that would require changes to the Sketch will be subject to a revision fee. This fee will be no less than €10 but may be more depending on the request.
I have the right to refuse any requests that would significantly alter the Scope of this Service, especially if you refuse the revision fee.
6. FINALIZATION AND DELIVERY
During this Service you will be given opportunities to approve WIPs, agreeing that what is approved will be roughly as it appears in the Final Work. By approving a WIP, you also agree that it's free of mistakes and that I can progress with the work. When you have approved a WIP that meets the Scope of this Service, the Final Work will be made and this Service has been Finalized. I will then upload the Final Work to FurAffinity.net for you to download and I will, if applicable, e-mail you any additional images agreed upon. At that point the licensed rights will be granted to you.
7. GRANT OF RIGHTS
With regards to the Final Work created during use of this Service I grant you a PERPETUAL, NON-EXCLUSIVE, NON-COMMERCIAL license to: upload to FREELY AVAILABLE on-line services; to MODIFY (excluding modifications that would remove my attributions/watermarks or harm the integrity of my art/business) or CREATE DERIVATIVE WORKS THEREOF; and to COPY, DISPLAY or DISTRIBUTE the Final Work in print. I grant you the right to sub-license these rights, in whole or in part, to others.
I will not sell the Final Work. I will not publish the Final Work except within my promotional materials. I retain full rights over all materials created prior to Finalization. I retain ownership and authorship of all works I produce. I retain full rights over all materials created.
In any event of refund or cancellation, ownership of all rights granted to you under this term will revert back to me, and vice versa. Any grant of rights is contingent on payment in full and Finalization of this Service. You agree that a chargeback or reversal of payment will constitute a breach of these terms, and that this grant of rights will be revoked if you do so.
You and I reserve all other rights not expressed in these Terms.
8. SURVIVAL
All terms that would logically survive the cancellation of this agreement will survive termination. These explicitly include the Refunds, Confidentially, Arbitration, Jurisdiction, Severability, Warranties, and Force Majeure clauses. As previously noted: in any event of cancellation, ownership of all rights granted to you under these Terms, specifically clause 7 ("Grant of Rights") will revert back to me, and vice versa.
9. CONFIDENTIALITY
You and I both agree that we will not knowingly share any private information gained during use of this Service. The exception to this is any disclosure required to complete the Service. Private information is:
a. Any names, e-mail addresses, physical addresses, dates of birth, or other information that could reasonably be deemed personally identifiable.
b. Any information relating to my business that is not made readily available and public, including the cost of this Service.
c. Any account information, including but not limited to Skype, Gmail, Discord, Facebook, Paypal, bank accounts, or otherwise.
10. ARBITRATION
Any dispute under or about these Terms must be submitted to and resolved through the internationally binding arbitration provided by net-ARB Inc. (https://www.net-arb.com/). We will bear our own costs for arbitration. Any court may enforce the arbitration award. We both agree that the limit of liability under this arbitration will be no greater than the total cost of this Service, which will be defined as the cost paid plus any revision fees paid.
11. JURISDICTION
These Terms will be governed by the laws of Sweden.
12. WARRANTIES
YOU WARRANT THAT ANY PERMISSIONS HAVE BEEN OBTAINED FOR THE AGREED USE OF MATERIALS SUPPLIED BY YOU FOR THE COMPLETION OF THIS SERVICE. YOU SHALL INDEMNIFY ME AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM MY USE OF ANY MATERIALS PROVIDED BY YOU.
I WARRANT THAT, TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE AND BELIEF, THE FINAL WORK WILL NOT INFRINGE UPON ANY EXISTING COPYRIGHTS. I WILL INDEMNIFY YOU AGAINST ANY COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT JUDGMENTS ARISING FROM THIS SERVICE. THIS SERVICE IS OTHERWISE PROVIDED "AS-IS", WITH NO IMPLIED WARRANTIES.
13. SEVERABILITY
These Terms are intended to be severable. What this means is that if any of these Terms are deemed illegal and/or unenforceable, such a Term will be excluded to the extent of that illegality and/or unenforceability. All other Terms will remain in full effect.
14. FORCE MAJEURE
Neither of us will be considered in breach of these Terms to the extent that the performance of our respective obligations (excluding payment) is prevented by an Event of Force Majeure.
An Event of Force Majeure is: an act of God (such as, but not limited to, fires, explosions, earthquakes, floods, or rapture); war or hostilities; civil unrest; acts or threats of terrorism; discontinuation of electricity or internet not covered by the agreement concluded with the respective utility companies or ISP; circumstances reasonably similar to any of these; or any other unforeseeable circumstance beyond your or my control that would be unreasonable to take precautions against and which cannot be avoided.
As soon as it's practical following an Event of Force Majeure, the affected party (you or I) will provide to the other reasonable proof of the nature of the event and of its effect upon the obligations contained within these Terms.
15. DEFINITIONS
"Final Work" means an image (or multiple images) that fulfills this Service as agreed upon during correspondence and application.
"Scope" means the agreed upon specifications for the Final Work, outlined within your application and within e-mails between us relating to this Service.
"Service" means both: a) the creation of an original, digital artwork within the defined scope; AND b) the grant of a license, from me to you, to use that final work as outlined in these Terms.
"Sketch" means the initial gray-scale image that will serve as the basis for the Final Work.
"WIP" means Work In Progress and refers to an image or material prior to the creation of the Final Work.

Upcoming COMMISSION auction someday soon! *HEADS-UP!*
Posted 8 years agoHello all my lovely followers!
I have been thinking lately and seeing as I am not that far away from 100 000 pageviews, which is quite humbling and awesome in its own way (thank you so much all!) I realize I should try out slowly treading my toes into the waters commissions. A lot of people have been asking me over the years if I do commissions and I always had to tell them sorry. But all that gotta change one day I though. In a way I never felt ready on a personal level.
Seeing as I never ever done a commission before here or on any other page I thought the first one I would ever do like this would be "special" and to my utmost abilities as to break into the world of commissions! So this will be my first ever official commission, and therefor I thought I would have it as an auction! Payment will be upfront before I start the commission.
Since I don't have much time over for art nowadays I don't know how long till the next commission or commissions. Plus the commission might take a lil while, but I will put my utmost into it!
I will announce in about a week or so when I will take it! If you know anyone that would be interested in this, do please tell them, link them or note them in anyway! :)
The kind of things I will do can be SFW or NSFW. Except for the usual will-not-draw I will make a list over what I will or will not draw.
Do post your thoughts on this! I would love to read em!

The Importance of revising old works and learning from them
Posted 8 years agoI realize that there is a big treasure mound of improvement in looking back at older works, works you felt were great when finished but as time goes on and as you improve you then realize something about them is a bit off. You can still learn a thing or two from these older pieces - although one shouldn’t spend too much time revising older works and be quick about it, too much time means you could instead spent that time creating new original works. Doing fast revisions I think will help you avoid repeating those same mistakes again, which is the whole purpose of this exercise. It is like when someone asks you for a paintover of their painting, but this time you ask yourself for a paintover for one of your own paintings. These examples I am posting here shows what I am talking about.
For the examples I talk about, see images here: http://zaggatar.tumblr.com/post/157.....lder-works-and
I noticed and also got critique by friends later on on how my green Sceptile lady was too shiny and reflective in the shaded area of her skin, later on looking at some photos and comparing it I did a quick revision of her and felt that making the shaded area darker and more unified in value had her look more realistic overall. This exercise helped me to avoid doing the same thing in my later works.
In the painting of my vampire dragon bat thing there were something always bugging me about it even after finishing it. As I looked back on it months later, I felt the composition was a bit off and that the saturation of the background competed with the foreground. In an area like this a saturation difference would help the character stand out from the background, and creating a revised image with a desaturated background with some bright light added behind the character helped her stand out more. More work could have been done to revise it further, but I learned my lesson and that is what this is all about.
In the fox and horse painting I got too focused on detail while working on it - so much that I didn’t notice that the values of the image were overall too unified and close to each other. Objects should be separated in value from each other to be either further away or closer to each other, something I realized I didn’t do well enough as it all had the same dark values in the overall composition of values. When I later revised the image I added a soft layer of brighter light on all areas in the image except the legs closest to the viewer and then it all popped out and now I think there is a whole new breath of space to the image, separating the legs from their torsos and heads more then the previous image.
This is just a tip I have personally found working very well for me recently and I learned a lot from my own old paintings doing this and I felt I wanted to share this to people. As long as you learn something new, fix a misconception you had in your art for long and then when you will be able to apply what you learned it is a success. I hope you will learn as much or even more then me from doing this fun little exercise, it also boosts your artistic confidence since you realize you have improved since doing the old pieces!

Posted 10 years ago"This is something as rare as a Lazy Salkow, an animal that now in in the wild can only be found on the island Carguelen situated in the Pacific ocean.
This strange animal is foremost characterized by its extreme slowness but also by its ability to express great sorrow at setbacks.
Its favorite food consists of cucumber which should preferably be fresh and sliced."
