Sexy Adults-Only Coloring Book?
Posted 9 years agoHey guys,
Been organizing my scanned image files (because it's been YEARS since I went through a lot of them) and it turns out I have a LOT more sexy/adult ink work than I thought I did, so I'm thinking about putting together a second coloring book. This one would be adults-only, and will have everything from nudes to straight up fetishy stuff I've drawn over the years. Some of it's from commissions I've done, some of it's personal or gift art. Pretty much all of it should be here on FA in my scraps, but like the previous book, it spans close to a decade of work.
It'll be close to the same size as the other coloring book, and possibly even a little bigger (80-100 images), and probably about the same price point.
Anything I put into the book has already been posted publicly, but since I know sometimes this is a touchy subject for folks, if I've done ADULT work for you in the past, and you are NOT comfortable with me including the inks from your piece(s) in this project, please let me know! I also don't necessarily scan the inks for every piece I do, so if you're unsure, just ask! Feel free to note or otherwise contact me privately if you don't want to ask in a comment, and I'll be happy to let you know if your piece(s) is among the files I've pulled out for the new book project.
Otherwise, I'll let folks know when I have it put together! I'll probably be a bit, since it takes time to get the template laid out and have a proof copy made up. =)

No stream tonight
Posted 10 years agoSorry guys, I'm having a REALLY bad endo month. x_x I won't go into the gory details (because dear god it's gory) but the past two days have been miserable for me, and I'm all out of spoons.
Hopefully this will clear up or at least be manageable by Thursday. I HATE losing time to my body's stupid issues, and rest assured I take copious notes to show my doctor, not that there's much we can do about it. I should have an appointment in a couple weeks, and we may need to adjust my birth control levels up again. Will have to see. Right now, though, the pain levels are overtaking the ibuprofen and I've lost so much blood I'd be a pervy vampire's best friend, eugh. I'm curling up with a book, several cats, and a heating pad, and trusting that this, too, shall pass.

Labyrinth YCH Auction!
Posted 10 years agoDoodled this up the other night, and since I'm not planning to finish it myself, thought I'd offer it as a YCH auction. Labyrinth-themed Valentines piece! The finished art will be 11"x14", and the auction includes options for customization and varying degrees of background detail. Starting bid is $50.00 (normally this paper size starts at $150 from me, so chance for a super good deal, here!).

Oogh, dead
Posted 10 years agoOk, not really dead.
I seem to have either eaten something that didn't agree with me, or picked up a stomach bug. Not sure which. x_x Sorry guys.
Haven't been sleeping well, either, been in a weird moody place, and my appetite's been crappy lately, so my body's just not cooperating lately.
I'll see if maybe I can get some art done tomorrow since I was totally out of it this weekend. Hoping the sick passes quickly.
Blargh.

Commissions are open again
Posted 10 years agoI actually kind of soft-opened previously, but I've finally got all my files and paperwork from last year squared away and new stuff worked up for this year. I do have one big private project from last year I'm still working on, but it's seen decent progress, so I feel comfortable reopening for commission work. A couple folks who've spoken to me already will be added to the queue shortly. This also means I'll be going back to opening stream slots on Fridays and Sundays like I was previously, so folks looking for a quick sketch or artcard will be able to snag those again. =)
Thanks for bearing with me while I slogged through the holidays and got myself organized again, guys!

*Heads up for 2016 commissioners - Mailing Rates*
Posted 10 years agoWhile my prices for artwork are mostly staying the same as they were last year, unfortunately USPS rates for Priority Mail have gone up significantly. An envelope that used to cost me $5.05 to send anywhere in the US is now $6.45, and international rates have gone up even more than that.
I've had to adjust my shipping charges to compensate, because while I could previously eat 5¢ or 10¢ here and there, that extra $1.40 adds up to a lot, especially when I have multiple packages to send off.
So my rate to mail off any artwork that involves a priority envelope is now $7.00, rather than $5.00. And lest anyone complain about that 55¢ over what the post office charges me, that would be the "handling" part of shipping and handling. That's the plastic bag the art goes into to keep it dry, the cardboard that stiffens it, the "Do not bend!" stickers, the self-adhesive label paper, printer toner, and packing tape I use to secure every envelope.
It sucks, but them's the breaks. =-/
On the bright side, I am more than happy to make up "hold envelopes" for anyone looking for more than a single commission. That means you pay ONE shipping fee, and I keep putting art you commission into your envelope until you tell me to send it off. That is always an option open to my commissioners. Just let me know if that's what you'd like to do! Folks who attend Midwest FurFest also have the option of picking their art up from me in person, so there's that.

An artist you should check out!
Posted 10 years agoHey guys! I stumbled across
wildling's stuff today and chatted with her a bit. She does some super cute (and sexy) arts, and her prices are SUPER reasonable! She's just lacking in more folks to see and appreciate (and commission) her work. =3 I do believe she's also open for commissions and has a clear queue right now. So check out her page if you have a moment!

This Telegram Thing...
Posted 10 years agoOkay, so I'm kind of "old" by fandom standards (not really old, but y'know, not a teenager or 20-something), and I don't really know how it all works yet, but I've been playing with Telegram this weekend.
If you'd like to add me as a contact there, you can do so here:
http://telegram.me/zannah
Maybe I'll even figure out how the whole sticker thing works, too. We'll see.
~~~~~
Husband and I are back from our New Years event. My wrist is STILL bugging me (SUPER annoying), I didn't even try drawing over the weekend, and hopefully will get my tooth fixed this coming week. I'm tired of lisping around the hole in my mouth. Only other thing I've noticed since my fall(s) is I seem to be getting tired more easily/often than I did before... But December was also an insanely busy month and we haven't been on anything like our normal schedule/routine, so it may just be extra tiredness piling up. Naps are kind of awesome, though. Five-year-old me had no idea what she was ragging on.
D'awww, you guys!
Posted 10 years agoI didn't even manage to get cards sent out this year, and I told you guys you didn't need to send me things, but some of you ignored me and did it anyway. =P
Anyway, thank you all for being so thoughtful! That was really sweet, you guys, and I very much appreciated it (particularly after my tumbles and battle injuries from Christmas night at the movie theater).
, your package arrived safely today! Thank you so much! I somehow still lacked Shakespearean Star Wars, so it's a welcome addition to my collection, and the treats are lovely!
keeps doing things for me even though I tell her not to. =PPPP Not only did she send us presents, but she got something extra for me after I had my face-planting incident. I will have my "revenge!". Muahahahaha! =DDDD
thank you so much for the card and the ebook! Finally had a chance to start it, and it's definitely right up my alley. =)
had an actual tiny figure of Zanny 3D printed! Now I have to break out my acrylics and paint it! =D And
sent me home after Star Wars with a Build-a-Bear werewolf toy (with Frozen themed underpants, thank you, Blaez XDDDDDD) to represent my cowboy werewolf. So now I have my own Billy to snuggle!
Seriously, you guys, that was super nice of all of you, and it means a ton to me. =) Thank you. You are amazing people!
As for recovery updates, my wrist is still giving me some issues, so I probably won't get back to drawing until after New Years. I'd rather give it the chance to heal before I put too much strain on it again. Right now it's also looking like it'll be next week before I can get the busted tooth fixed, too. Check out my super classiness here if you want. I snapped a pic of it when I was still in the ER, too, but I look super strung out in that one, understandably. c.c It's mostly not bothering me, and I've been able to eat okay. It's a little sensitive if I suck a breath of cold air across it, but it doesn't hurt all the time or anything. I haven't fainted/passed out/fallen down again either, so for now I'm ruling out lingering issues. I got stressed and overwhelmed and just reacted badly, but I'm more or less fine now. Eventually everyone will stop treating me like I'm made of glass, I hope. XDD
But yeah, THANK YOU EVERYBODY! Folks who sent me stuff, folks who've expressed their sympathies, checked up on me, etc. You're all wonderful human beings, and it makes my life brighter to know you're all in it.
Unexpected Christmas ER visit! x_x
Posted 10 years agoSo let my preface this by saying I'm totally fine now, aside from lingering soreness. I AM OKAY NOW. Last night was not an experience I would care to repeat, but it seems to be an isolated incident.
Went to see the new Bond movie, Specter, with my husband and mom-in-law. I like Bond movies, and I am not normally a squeamish person, but the obligatory "bad guy tortures James Bond while making the female lead watch" scene really, really got to me this time. I know this is a spoiler for those who haven't seen it, but personally I don't handle needles in eyes and/or brains well at all. I started to feel sick, dizzy, light headed and nauseous. The movie was too loud. I couldn't block it out, and even closing my eyes and putting my head down and trying to breathe deep wasn't helping, even after that scene ended.
I tried to leave the theater to get some air but couldn't get my breath back. I appear to have had a "vasovagal syncope" incident as a result. Basically the movie stressed me out so damn hard that I kept passing out. I made it out of the theater, but fell on the carpet just outside the doors. I remember thinking that I couldn't stay there. You're not supposed to sit on the floor in the movie theater, and the movie was almost over. If I stayed there I'd get trampled when people left. I wanted to go to the restroom because I still felt nauseous and thought I might throw up, and I was determined to get there, but we'd never been to this theater before and my body kept refusing to cooperate. I mostly remember being disoriented and confused about why I kept ending up on the floor.
There weren't many people around because all the shows were in progress, it was a small theater and the few employees working were concentrated at the snack bar. I passed out at least once more trying to get to the lobby, possibly twice. My memories of getting down the hallway are pretty blurry (I should also note that several other customers walked right by me at this point, and not one of them stopped to help or told the theater staff I was having trouble). Unfortunately one of the resulting blackouts happened in the corner of the tile floored lobby while I was still trying to reach the bathroom, and when I came to I realized one of my teeth was broken. Yep. I apparently went down hard enough to face-plant on the tile and snapped one of my front teeth in half. Just the tooth, though. The rest of my face is fine.
I managed to get up again and stumbled to the snack bar counter where there were actually some people around who finally helped me, called 911, and went to find my husband. I must have gone down again after I told them I wasn't okay, because I woke up on the floor again. The theater folks were super kind and helpful once they realized there was a problem. They got my feet elevated and iced my forehead until I felt less overheated, and made sure I didn't try to get up again. The paramedics checked me over when they got there, but we thought it would be better to have the hospital make sure nothing else was wrong. So I had my very first ambulance ride as a patient! x_x They put me on IV fluids and checked all my vitals and did a chest x-ray and CT scan to make sure there wasn't some other underlying cause that might have triggered multiple fainting episodes, and the verdict is otherwise I'm fine. I'm perfectly healthy and normal.
If I'd stayed down the first time I fell, I probably would have recovered without further incidents... but I'm stubborn and I was definitely disoriented. As a result, I have a broken front tooth, a very sore shoulder, sore knees, and my hands are pretty stiff and sore where I must have tried to catch myself. I jammed my right hand pretty good, and it's hard to hold writing implements right now, so I'm going to give it a few days before I try to draw with it. It's better this morning than it was last night, at least. I can type okay, so that's good. They told me to just take tylenol/ibuprofen as needed, and get my tooth fixed when I can. It'll probably be Monday before that happens, though. Yay holiday weekend! Ironically, it's the same tooth I broke as a teenager, so this is the second time I'll have to have it rebuilt. Go figure. It doesn't hurt, though I can definitely tell the nerve is exposed. Mostly it doesn't like cold things. We stopped for food after leaving the ER last night, and I was able to eat just fine, so I'll manage.
Just wanted to bring everybody up to speed on my Christmas drama! I mostly feel like an idiot for passing out. I'm not the sort of person who usually faints when I see needles. I don't like them, but they don't particularly scare me. I'll be fine. I just feel sore, dumb, and embarrassed about the whole stupid incident. I don't like being stared at or fussed over, and there was a lot of that going on last night.
ZOME STURWURZZZ!
Posted 10 years agoI won't spoil anything. =3
I went and saw it twice with
perdikitti (we had tickets to a Friday morning show, and she won a pair to a Thursday evening one, so we decided why the heck not?) And it was awesome!
I very much enjoyed it, and I felt like it was a worthy successor to the original trilogy. It made me happy.
If you've seen it, you're welcome to squee at me in private, but I'm trying to make an effort not to ruin the movie for folks who haven't had a chance to see it yet and want to go into it fresh.
Please be aware that I will delete spoiler comments, and my mods will be stomping hard on spoilers in my streams for at least the next couple weeks until the hype's died down a bit and more people have a chance to go watch for themselves. They have my permission to temp-ban at will, and even jokes about spoiling aren't well tolerated right now (so don't do it, please). Saying you loved it/hated it/whatever is fine, just don't give away plot, etc.
10 Years on FA
Posted 10 years agoHoly crap, has it really been that long? I guess it has. As of several days ago, I've had my FA account for a decade. o.o;
Means nothing in the long run, but I suppose it makes me a veteran of the service. XD I made the account here after the previous version of FA crashed and burned (Yes, there was a previous version. I wonder how many people even still remember that drama-fest). I've met a lot of pretty awesome people in that time, blocked a few less-than-awesome people, and moved from doing art sporadically to arting with regular frequency.
I wonder where we'll all be ten years from now. =3
Temporarily Closed for New Commissions
Posted 10 years agoHey guys!
MFF was awesome, and I just finished entering all my numbers and getting my queue up to date on what I owe folks. Haven't had a chance to put together everything that needs to be mailed out yet, but I'm working on it. The one thing that is blatantly clear to me at the moment is I cannot take on anything new until I get my current workload under control. December is a SUPER busy month for me, and we have some family coming to stay with us for the holidays, so I'm going to lose some time to getting the house presentable, getting decorations up, and doing the social thing. I'd really like to get my queue cleared out before that happens.
So unless you've already spoken to me about something, or I manage to get things under control faster than expected, I will not be taking on new work until after the first of the year. I'll let everybody know if/when that changes, of course! I just don't want to get completely overloaded and make people wait for their stuff. =)
MFF was awesome, and I just finished entering all my numbers and getting my queue up to date on what I owe folks. Haven't had a chance to put together everything that needs to be mailed out yet, but I'm working on it. MFF 2015 - Post Con
Posted 10 years agoI'm home! (duh) And I've got the scans of everything I finished at the con posted. =3 I have a few more pieces of homework I'll be finishing up this coming week to send off, but otherwise I'm in good shape and plan to resume steaming as usual. Con was excellent! I had the best sales I have EVER taken home from a convention, and that was hugely encouraging for me. I think all this constant streaming has really paid off by making me stretch my artistic muscles. =3
Thank you so much to my fellow artist-alley-crew-folks! You guys kept things running smoothly all weekend despite the occasional hiccup, and it was awesome having someone come check periodically if we were okay or needed help with anything. I look forward to doing it again next year! Thanks also to everyone who came to say hi and browse through my art, and everybody who commissioned stuff and bought things! I was not expecting to sell out of coloring books. That was amazing! XDD I'm sad I didn't bring more.
The weekend went by so quickly I barely had time to breathe! I guess the only drawback of working the con like I do is socializing time tends to be pretty much nonexistent. I did manage to see and chat with a few friends while I was dashing off sketches and inks. Thank you again,
tree-san for feeding me in the alley, and for delicious dinner Saturday night! Sorry we didn't have a chance to go out, but delivery curry and sushi with friends was pretty awesome, too. Thanks everybody who stopped by Saturday and Sunday nights, especially. =) I don't know everyone's names and I was pretty out of it by that time of night, but you all know who you are. XDDD
Basically, had a great con, it's good to be home, and I feel pretty energized about swinging back into streaming and getting some more work done!
Midwest FurFest and mailing stuff
Posted 10 years agoHey guys!
MFF Info:
Just wanted to let everybody know that YES! I will be at MFF this coming weekend. =) I'm one of the artist alley room mods, so unless the alley director's changing things up this year, I should be in the same spot all weekend if you want to come find me and say hi/get art/whatever. I'll have prints with me, and I'll be doing commissions as usual. While I would prefer to get everything done at the con, I'm also not averse to taking on after-con homework, and I have a pretty good track record of getting stuff out fast. I am okay with hugs, and pretty friendly in general, though apologies in advance if I don't remember names/faces. I tend to remember art I've done for people, or badge art a lot better than faces. I spend most of the con doodling frantically in front of me while glancing up at people every now and then.
Usually I have too large a workload to accept dinner invites, unfortunately. I tend to disappear back to my room to art into the small hours of the night. c.c; I do appreciate it, though! I'll be in the artist's alley the whole convention, open hours to closing hours. I'll have my ear-hat from streaming, and the mask
tempestuous made for me (though I probably won't wear them at the same time)! My badges all say Zannah or Zanny, and I don't bite (most of the time) so please do feel free to come say hi!
Mailing Stuff:
I will be mailing out the next batch of finished commissions AFTER MFF is over. I know I have at least one envelope I've been asked to hand-deliver at the con. If there's anyone else who wants to just pick their art up from me there, let me know! Otherwise, if your stuff is finished and/or you've given me the go-ahead to send if I'm holding an envelope for you, stuff will go out the week following the con once I've had a chance to recover. =)
I think that about covers it. If anybody has questions, just ask!
"Patreon Hack" Email Scam!
Posted 10 years agoHey folks? If you get an email from someone claiming they got your data from the Patreon hack and they'll dox you if you don't pay them bitcoin, DO NOT PAY THEM. It's a form email and a phishing scam attempt. I got one of these last night. The husband got two, sent to different email addresses that weren't even associated with Patreon.
The same group did the exact same thing with a different database of emails a few weeks back, only they claimed they had the data from the Ashley Madison hack. THEY DO NOT HAVE YOUR INFORMATION. They're just hoping that you're dumb enough to send them money anyway. They made something like $20,000 in bitcoin from their last attempt to scam people, and more people are paying them this time, too. x_x
HomeCon Next Weekend! Panel thoughts?
Posted 10 years agoHey guys, HomeCon's next weekend, and I'll be streaming for it as usual. =) Last time I ran a panel on making double-sided shibari badges, but I'm not sure if I want to do another panel this time... and if so, on what?
So I thought I'd ask you all. Is there something I do that you'd like more in-depth focus or explanation of? There are a couple other folks running panels on watercolors and coloring with Copics already. I kind of feel like I'd like to do something different than just a technique panel. I have a vague idea for something, but it would involve a couple other folks whose schedules I'm not certain of right now.
So... thoughts? Ideas? I'm open to suggestions! =D
FurryNetwork
Posted 10 years agoI have a page there now! Not planning to leave FA or anywhere else I post frequently, but if people were looking for yet another site to follow me, you can do so now. XD I'm still figuring out how all of it works, but it looks pretty slick so far. Even had the option to auto-import all the artwork from my gallery here, which is pretty sweet.
Nope. Lungs still a problem.
Posted 10 years agoUgh, sorry folks, but I think I'm going to take a pass on streaming tonight. Feel like a zombie and I'm still (big surprise) coughing.
I'll try and catch up more this coming week. Stupid lungs are very frustrating. I'm not sick anymore. I just can't get rid of the cough.
Another payment alternative
Posted 10 years agoHey folks!
I know a couple of you guys have had trouble sending me stuff with PayPal recently. While I do have a store on Square.com, I've also set up a SquareCash account in case there's some odd amount you need to send me, and I can always send invoices with either service if there's any question. SquareCash is similar to the PayPal.me setup. There's a phone app version, or you can just visit my page here: https://cash.me/$Zannah to send money for commissions (also linked in my profile here on FA). You just pay with a debit card, and there are no fees on your end (don't worry about my end, that's part of my tax stuff).
