Feeling better, streams resume this week!

Sorry for the unexpected hiatus. I'm finally over the cold, though as usual it's going to take me awhile to kick the lingering cough in the aftermath. I will probably still sound like death for a couple weeks, but I swear I'm better. Stupid messed up lungs. I'm at least no longer sick anymore! I am planning to be back on my regular stream schedule this week leading up to Midwest Fur Fest. I have a few smaller things to finish up from my queue, but otherwise my schedule's pretty open if anybody's looking to have artwork done. Let me know, or catch me during one of my open commission slot streams on Tigerdile. =)

Home from Rising Star, sick
Posted 10 years agoI'm back home again now, but I either picked up con crud or got this lovely sick somewhere else along the way, so I'm a snot monster now. x_x I'm hoping a night's sleep will help clear things up. Will see how I feel tomorrow.

Posted 10 years agoWell, I was totally going to stream tonight, but my stupid uterus has other ideas. u.u Sorry guys, I hate to cancel stuff on you, but I am the blegh monster right now. Not sure if I'll be able to do one Thursday, since that'll be my last packing day before the convention next weekend, but I'll let folks know if I can.

We're home now, and the husband's doing better. They didn't find anything acute in the x-rays, but he's got some pills to take the pain away and orders to take it easy and just heal up. Grabbed food on the way home because we were starving (screw dieting for tonight. Today was super stressful). I still have to run out and pick up his prescription, so I think I'm just going to chill tonight. I'll catch up with folks later this week.

Had to take my husband to the ER this afternoon for severe lower back pain. We've been here closing on three hours and I'm not sure how long it's going to be. He's had x-rays taken, but hasn't seen a doctor yet. They only just got him into a room a few minutes ago. He's being a trooper and is hanging in there, but we're kind of stuck here for the time being. I'll let everybody know what's going on if the situation changes or improves, but right now I'm kind of caught up in making sure he's okay. =(

Apologies for not being around this afternoon/evening
Posted 10 years agoHey, I know a couple folks tried to get in touch and I didn't answer. Got walloped by a migraine and couldn't deal with light/monitors/screens for a number of hours. Rest assured I didn't mean to ignore anybody. x_x Thankfully these are pretty rare for me, but when they happen, they suck. A lot. I don't know what set it off, but at least it seems to have passed. I should be okay now.

Got home safe pretty late last night. Hung out with
perdikitti, went to see the Martian (ZOMG it was SO GOOD!) built some furniture, harassed her cats, and watched all of Sailor Moon that I hadn't seen yet. Sailor Stars... Holy crap. That was a thing. XD I understand why that series didn't make it to the states in the 90s. There would have been SO much rage-face from the conservative set. Boys that transform into magical girls and fight in leather hot-pants and bustiers and thigh high boots? Oh yeah, that would have gone over smashingly well. XDDD I quite enjoyed it.
Anyway, meeting up with
tree-san for lunch in a bit here, and after that I will be streaming later on this afternoon/evening, working on color for 
fatinuyasha's piece. I'll pop up notices for the stream once I'm set up. =)

Concerning Prints - COMMISSIONERS PLEASE READ

I'm setting up to do my once-yearly print book update, and I wanted to give folks a heads up. The way I do this is I look back through the art I've done since last time and pick out a selection of things to add to my prints-for-sale. My print runs are VERY small. I rarely print more than 3 copies of any piece. These aren't huge batches of things and I don't make tons of money from them. Mostly they're a physical display of my art skills when I'm at conventions. While I reserve the right to make prints from any piece I've drawn, I always want to give you guys (my commissioners) a chance to weigh in before I do. Pieces like badges, in-jokes, and a lot of the smaller things are almost never on the print docket, so do keep that in mind.
IF YOU WOULD PREFER THAT I NOT MAKE PRINTS FROM YOUR COMMISSION(S) PLEASE LET ME KNOW!
I may still include things in the display slideshow I play on my iPad at conventions, but I will honor any commissioner's request not to take their things to print.

I'm mostly better, but the husband and I had some later errands to run, I'm only just sitting down to dinner, and he's got to work early tomorrow so I'm not going to pop the stream up tonight. I'll be on for longer tomorrow to make up for it, though. =) I have some personal stuff I want to work on, and some commission things to do, but after that I'll be open for slots as usual.

Cleaning House
Posted 10 years agoJust finished going through my watch list here on FA and removing dead/defunct/moved accounts. I think I knocked close to 300 names off the list. o.o Apologies if I mistakenly unwatched anybody who's just on hiatus right now. I tried to pay attention to whether things were still current and active or not. My criteria was mostly whether the person I was watching was an artist (or at least someone I'm regularly in touch with), and if so whether they've posted anything (submissions, journals, etc) in the past year. I had a mess of accounts I was watching that hadn't updated since 2006 or 2007, who've moved to different websites, or old accounts for people who're posting under new names now.

Sorting stuff into folders!
Posted 10 years agoYay for organization! I've finished with all the main gallery stuff from 2015, so I have just roughly nine more years of art and everything in scraps left to sort...
I know what I'm doing tomorrow. @_@ Wheee!
But yeah, this should theoretically make it easier for people looking for specific sorts of images in the roughly 2000 pics uploaded to my gallery here once I'm through.

I haven't really touched scraps yet, but everything in my main gallery's beeb sorted into folders now. x_x Wheeeeee
I know what I'm doing tomorrow. @_@ Wheee!

Sorry guys, my uterus hates me and I basically feel like I got hit by a truck. Hopefully it'll be better tomorrow. The first couple days are always the worst. I'm working a little bit offline, but I'm not very good company right now.

Wow. Here's a lesson in how not to get art from me

I'm used to people (usually teenagers) having the occasional mild bout of sticker shock when they ask me for (free) art and I tell them how much it'll be if they want to commission me...
But I just had someone have a full blown fist-banging heel-kicking tantrum at me, complete with name-calling, personal insults, demeaning comments about my art, swearing, all-caps, and demands that I lower my prices. This was like... potty mouth spoiled five-year-old levels of immature shit.
If you don't like my prices, don't commission me.
Simple as that.
I screencapped the rant, blocked the person, and pinged the community owner about it. I don't give a shit about entitled little assholes or their problems with me, and I won't be bullied, but I'd rather they didn't spew this sort of vitriol at other artists in the same community. That was extremely uncalled for.
UPDATE: I'm going to link the screenshot of the rant, with the person's information removed. Be warned, there is unpleasant language in it.

Selling Originals on Storenvy!

I have a mess of my old art, mostly originals I've drawn or painted, some matted originals, a handful of matted prints, etc, that have been gathering dust in my house for ages. I have no idea if anybody's interested in this stuff or not, but I listed a bunch of it, and I'll probably add things as I find stuff. I may put up sketches or packs of sketches if that sort of thing interests people, too. God knows I have enough of them laying around.
Most of these are priced at "Get this stuff out of my house!" rates (I say most because I got yelled at for underpricing things c.c;;). A good number of them are also already matted because they're leftover from convention art shows where they didn't sell. Some of this stuff is REALLY old, too, and listed super cheap. Just about everything includes both scans of the art, and photos of what it looks like by itself or in its mat, and dimensions should be included on everything.
