Posted 8 years agoJust a comment, I have notticed my FA page is often neglected so an update ought to happen:
Life is slowly getting back to normal, despite the economic crisis (and political as well).. Yet last shore leave was not art related - I did wrote ..going back home during the winter solstice.. and a total solar eclipse I will not see (too far south)... auspiciouis, eh? I would not be surprised if once again, a storm follows up my tail... on my profile... and guess what, the night before I reached home rain caused floods on many areas at my city... no major damage, if I recall well, and at home all was well.
Shore leave then followed its usual lattely, get back for a 10 day recovery with my sleep schedule a wreck (lovely night shifts), plus (still) had a cold / flu.. followed with legal matters to attend regarding my own new (empty) apartment.. and right before going back to the sea - guess what- got a new flu despite my efforts to dodge it.
Maybe next shore leave things will get better and hold my spirit higher, eh? and post comms I got and maybe sketch some art.. best wishes for the future.

Imagining dragons... record of a dream
Posted 9 years agoDreams are a rare event for me and one that remains in my mind so strongly a very rare amongst the rare dreams… This one left me enough an impression that I simply had to type it out and record it somewhere.. thus leaving it here…
Like usual for these kinds of dreams, the dream-me is different from the real-me, at times knowing something I do not know (signaled below as ‘feelings’) or once, not knowing something I knew.. And since most of this was in first person, I will be using "I" / “me” for the dream-me..
Forgive me if a typo excaped me, I did reviewed it once, yet I types a tad quickly (half waiting for the heli to ferry us back to shore, half after it was postponed one day and I had to get back to work hoping to recall things the best I could)

What stayed in the memory after I truly woke up started with the dream-me, after slipping / breaking a small potion bottle on a crowded potion store (without consequences, not sure if "I" paid for it or just left), leaving that potion store and moving across the dreamscape to another store.. searching for curiosities... The place was like an “U” or Ω bay, with the main events taking place near the center of the curve, the arcane fountain going leftward about one quarter to that end, and the sand-gate by the rightmost end, the shore continuing on either side and a great desert connecting to the “U” at the right side and underneath…
Walk some... past a food-seller corner-shop.. a public drinking fountain.. street.. walk a little.. reached the other store… The feeling was "aimless" at the time, like the dream-me was simply curious and just seeking something that struck his fancy.. thinking nothing, really.. so entering that particular shop and what followed might be fate...
While browsing through the shops wares, "I" moved a small box (6-pack ?) of potion bottles that was resting on top of other things to see what was underneath - more potion bottles and other trinkets.. one of such little bottles got stuck between "my" fingers and slipped while "I" moved the small box. "I" checked to find it broke the tip and spilled its content, a pale (pastel?) green thick fluid... I was distraught that I wanted to buy stuff on that store - feeling: it was a good store / I liked the store - and now I wasted a good potion and needed to pay for it. One of the potion-maker ladies that kept the store, walked to me and helped calm me saying that my gold was not needed, that it was nothing, while cleaning the spill... She pointed out that some had spilled on "my" left foot and that "I" should clean it on the drinking fountain, quickly before the spilled lizard skin potion had any side effects...
Somewhere while cleaning the spill she did said the lizard skin potion was for attuning one to lizards so to help communicate with them - feeling: druid like, even tough it was all wizardry, like all magic was one and names / titles meant little..
"I" left then to said drinking fountain - a natural looking 3 step basin formation with a stone (concrete?) square set on the middle of the top one with two taps.. after waiting for the one person getting water to leave "I" moved in to start washing "my" left foot.. not just had the potion started turning my skin a pale pale greenish and a tad reptilian but had also grown a few (3... 4) small blue and red lizards - they were like glued to my foot by their bellies, resembled tiny komodos and their colors were like you spilled one color of paint into a bucked of the other color, swirled..
With a little effort "I" ripped the lil lizards out, tossing them away without thinking much other then the strange effect of the potion while "I" washed away the "normal" side-effect on my skin... somewhere along that "I" started listening to "voices"..
the "voices" prompted me to acquire more of those potions and that the side effects were strange because of me.. and that drinking the potions would answer what / why..
"I" returned to the store to ask about the lizard skin potion, interested in buying some. In the end "I" bought 3 potions and paid for the spilled one (my choice) and left the store - that lady and the other behind the counter arching an eyebrow while "I" left, from my sudden interest / enthusiasm regarding that one particular potion.
The "voices" were unclear then, not sure if they were manifesting as hallucination yet or not.. but when it did the mind image of them were as if "I" was hollow underneath the skin and thery were land-dragons within the inner void – I recall the voices of two elder / adult females (mothers, one yellow with blue markings, the other orange with.. something.. blue? green?.. there were also others, 2 or 3 younglings.. maybe a young adult one.. Flashes of vision would show “me” as the “other me” (what "I" became) instead of the humanoid one, hollow and all else the same.
Land-dragons – I use the term because I felt it was the proper name, with the forms being like dragons, filled with magic, only without wings.. They were all similar, in regards they had two colors, a main coat with another covering a large patch of the back and other small areas. The underside was the same as the main coat color, only lighter – not sure how to describe it, if mottled or what, the patches were like large splotches of paint, irregular…
"I" was back at the drinking fountain, with a large glass mug.. "I" uncapped and poured all 3 potions in it and followed by (somehow) wounding “myself” a small cut to let 3 drops of blood fall into the mug – each drop sinking into the thick light (pale) green syrup-like potion like small black thunderclouds, flickering with lightning / magic… As "I" dropped the first drop of blood one lady from the potion store (the lady behind the counter – or was there a third one? - seemingly concerned by the possibility of me drinking 3 potions at once) approached me to tell “me” not to do exactly what "I" was doing, tampering with the potion using blood… and calmly, after the third drop of blood "I" drank the entire thing… and much to her concern absolutely nothing happened.. nothing at all.
The dream-me had then a small smile and a feeling of ‘I know something you do not’, a state that continue until I woke up and well for about 4 hours after that (moment when my flight back to shore was postponed one day and I went back to work at the rig)
Guided by the voices (who also said about mixing the blood into the potions) "I" walked the short distance to the lil corner snack-place to eat – was told "I" needed the extra mass and energy… "I" ate 3 – 4 meat-only kebabs (on a wooden stick), followed by a small boar (pig), and lastly, 3 more more kebabs to eat while "I" walked away.. my destination, an arcane fountain "I" could see from where "I" was, across the calm bay…
Arriving at the arcane fountain to find it surrounded by a large, heavy iron fence (warded too), a few passer-by strolling calmly by on the evening… "I" casted an earth rune to empower myself with mighty strength to rip one segment of the fence (or one corner) off and proceeded to jump in it.. two guards rushed a tad late to scream at me to get out of there… on the while "I" gulped down plenty of infused water / liquid magic to empower what started with the 3 potions (plus food), plus a few extra gulps for good measure before swimming to the edge where the guards pulled me out..
On the ground, "I" swallowed (don’t ask me O.o ask the dream-me) the earth rune floating before my chest.. on the while, the change started within, with the “other me” taking form and swelling to full size within “me”.. The two guards noticing something was happening asked if I was feeling well / if there was something wrong, going silent as "I" turned to sandstone, then cracked and broke out of my former shell as a young adult brown on green land-dragon, sweeping them off their feet with my tail…
"I" breathed out the earth rune (bigger) to hover before me and jumped through it (like it was a loop) and diving into the ground like it was water… The guards dumbfolded not knowing what was happening… Underneath, the view of the fountain and the little stream flowing from it into the bay was now like liquid light (rainbow, yet lots of white for being so bright and full of magic / before it was sparkling and lightly glowing water).. and proceeded to swim underground (with the earth looking like black empty space) towards my next destination.. a way to leave the area…
What followed was “me” entering a place like an industrial area, with lots of polished steel pipes everywhere.. my feeling then was that it was a place to reach other places, a bridge or gate. It was linked to the great desert nearby and other places…
While somehow negotiating passage, "I" was greeted by a land-dragon colored sand with red markings, like a spirit within the machine, as the very sand that flowed within some pipes.. a sand dragon (and maybe why the place was called sand gate). The sand dragon spoke of finnaly having a nephew and of his bloodline not ending. He also spoke of granting me passage to a spot where others would not reach, granting me time to move away before one could follow, then opening a gate to somewhere in the desert.. Before going "I" acknowledged him as uncle and crossed the gate…
The final images was when I was waking up, with “me” walking northward across the desert (I guess to find the others, the “voices”), the image zooming out to be a view from a scrying orb, kept by a young wizard speaking out loud where "I" was.. behind him two older (by their voices) cloaked arcanists (investigators ?) discussing the events, recalling what happened from the point of view of witnesses, where "I" acted seemingly randomly at times, as if possessed / with intend at others….
I am yet unsure at this dream if my dream-me was / became trully a land-dragon or if it was a serious hallucination +TF caused by the tampered triple-potion... ..I need a new animal (sona)... any votes?

Alas I forgot why I made him a racoon (asside for the natural mask) and been wondering what other options to consider for this idea of mine... bunny and wolf are unlikely (since I have one of each already.. yet, who knows)..

His goal is to earn full acess to the keep's Well of Souls (thus his goal to defeat and replace Hsaru as overlord).. Yet he would change things, by handing all neutral and not-evil souls to a celestial servant and sharing a fragment of the evil soul with all loyalist demons that stood with him while under Hsaru's grasp...

Zebak LongFang - Wolf / Otter - Practical, loyal, traditional, explorer, channeler.
Primarily Fantasy as a tribal wolf (or otter), but also exists on Sci-fi as an air-caste Vahrr. Likes to learn things so not to depend on others too much to live. Known a bit of wood-work as well as some sailing. A channeler, mostly of Ice / snow, yet know a bit of water and healing thanks to a certain seashell amulet and an otter tribe.

Posted 11 years ago[WbLR] - World-builders Lost RecordsThe Vahrr - non-flexed (sing, plural and genders: Vahrr)
Desc.: On average, they are smaller than a human, covered in fur, with short muzzles and digitigrade legs. As a species they vary considerably – some are as tall as humans, some smaller, some are bulky and some grow horns – and their fur coat can have any of a number of shades and patterns… Such variety is explained in their past, the species once were divided in 13 sub species that were partially-compatible – suggesting a common ancestor. Eons of inter-species breeding and with the hybrid movement winning over the pure-breed movement slowly led to a more unified single species. While still having some variation, none can, at present, be identified as a sub-species apart from the main one.
Bio.: The Vahrr are omnivore, leaning towards vegetarianism by choice – and lovers of “flavorfull” food. Their senses of smell and hearing are sharp and rival that of beasts, while their sight is, at best, average. They are capable of running “on all fours” and while have no taboos on that, they refrain from doing so when off world near other species. Their height vary 15% from an average of 1,65m (3x the human range), the taller and bulky ones are at times un-officially described as Ursal, and the smaller ones as Mustel - Both forms are uncommon to rare and might disappear on coming centuries. Horns are also uncommon and described as “Ram”, “bighorn” and “Reindeer” – other variations are very-rare. Paws can be webbed and while it is an uncommon trait it is focused on settlements at rivers and lakes. Hoofs are uncommon to rare and might also disappear in the far future. Fur coats are described to be of “any range of color and pattern of earthly critters”, with most usual being a lighter front or underside and a main coat with a possible secondary visible at the back.
Planet: The Vahrr planet is called Cannis Prime, continents are described as huge islands, some linked as chains by natural land formations to form small continents. There are 3 moons, the bigger, black-white Aulirus Major; the brown Ursa; and the smaller red-brown Aulirus Minor. Their single star is called Leonnus and show an orange-ish shade – it is stable and predicted to remain so for many more eons. Their flora is lush and colourful – and mildly toxic to exo-landers.
Their homes are half-buried – again a trait of old – and homes near or at rivers and lakes also show a water feature or are half flooded as well. Cities were once described as “flowers”, with the main district surrounded by residential ones, with advanced learning, commerce and industrial districts evenly spaced / distributed from the main centers.
Settlements long migrated from “everywhere” to focus on the shores, rivers, lakes, light flood plains and other fertile lands, moving almost entirely away from dangerous and harsh areas such as deserts, ever-tundras and areas constantly afflicted by severe storms or geological activity – yet these areas are still used for agriculture where land of favourably fertile, if mostly by drones. Off-land they have a few underwater settlements – science stations and one resort – outposts on their moons and one major station on stable orbital balance.
Soc.: Vahrr culture is rich in colour, music and flavour. Clothing is practical or with distinct purposes (protection mostly) and at large is seen as “lacking”. Yet such little clothing is easily explained by their fur pelt providing adequate environmental protection even on colder regions and their joyful behaviour near water and on open fields.
They are ruled by a High Council – the Aun’Va – and locally by a Lesser Council where a High Counselor can not be present often. Their society is divided in castes focused on a purpose or set of skills, a trait kept from ancient times. Yet their caste-system is exceedingly flexible, one need only learn enough and pass the proper test to become an initiate of that caste – one can even be member of 2 or 3 castes, but only one is considered Main, the others are seen as interests, hobbies or past experience.
One caste is unnamed and unmarked: One step up from their faith in The Galaxy (and The Creator of All) as a form of attaining balance and harmony, those with good and greater potential of channeling that choose to follow such a narrow path become Disciples of the Stars or Dak’karin, a path of inner peace, mercy, justice and virtue. Those were once seen as noble heroes at the time channeling was more common. Presently ones actions speak higher then old titles, but a few have become public by their feats and are near legends for that. Un-officially a Disciple is considered at least rank 1 as an Elite even of not a warrior… There is also legends of Disciples of the Dark-Star, the Dekk-Dak’karin, an agent of balance (one to a hundred stars), and swift merciless justice and cleansing – and diferent from human myth, they are not evil, only “stone hearted” or so is said. Their choice of weapon is a dense staff, charged by channeling or recently as a force-staff and is called a Taffik (“Dark-Stars” have spear-like blades on both tips of their Taffik).
Tech: Their technology reflect their pursues and beliefs – as a non-military species their weapons focus on stunning and disabling peacefully an aggressor (being, machine or vessel). Lethal and destructive weapons are sub-par compared to the rest of the galaxy (with rare exceptions) and advanced military units often show advanced weapons acquired by diplomatic deals with other like-minded races. Their choice is almost entirely energy-based and their defence is heavy on energy shielding and field projectors.
Apart from military the Vahrr excel on FTL (a standard Scarab class transport is a good match to a certain “fastest hunk-of-junk”) and the dubbed Courrier-Corps can be seen zipping by between allied space. Science is well seen, with ships both small and large dedicated to mapping the unknown and “understanding the cosmos”. Medical is another point they surpass, with both organic and synthetical (BIO-Gell) based healing, both in tanks and dry.
BIO-Gell tech is also used as control cores on smart buildings, vehicles, ships and stations as well as drones. These drones are about a dozen per citizen and can take the form of floating orbs or smooth platted insectoids (An ancient legacy: there was such a race on Cannis Prime, on constant war with the Vahrr – presently they are long extinct). There are rumours of Organic-Core tech still being used on Cannis Prime…
Fun facts: They enjoy integrated systems, that is vehicles, homes and personal holo-pads talk to each other when in short range and effectively, is a single system or A.I., with multiple systems existing on parallel where multiple beings co-inhabit. Older A.I.s show signs of learning to the point of nearly awakening… Despite such a fact, there have never been a single problem, likely due to their systems being based on a purpose (serving and providing) instead of rigid laws.

Posted 11 years ago A while back, I needed an imput to an RPG project... While this idea was not aprooved (they had a similar one already), it was a chance to write down something I used before while DM-ing adn will use again..
Over 2 decades ago, I wrote fragments of an RPG world… This was the base for the tech of my species and at the time I did not set apart if it was a truly biological or a synthetic technology. It was used as a vest and gloves, and also as the core / wiring inside PDAs, drones, hover vehicles, spaceships, intelligent buildings and under-cities.
Not that much an original idea since I have seen it on some sources (films, animes, RPGs). Having nothing to start from I considered wiser to just describe the stats (weight, price, protection and capabilities) as a more generic stat for easy conversion, and am certain they will be changed from this. Without further ado… a shard of my imagination: The Bio Gel Suit
The Bio Gel Suit
Created by Black Coyote Labs, this synthetic pseudo-alive material has active fibers that reacts similar to that of muscles and nerve endings. Those traits as a pseudo-alive material allows it to self repair similar to regeneration while trully still non-organic in nature. Tough yet flexible, it was dubbed Bio Gel.
A more hardened variant exists that is used as replacements for wiring on some vessels (fully integrating the vehicle as a single circuit). A more fluid one is used along with synth muscle fibers on walker drones, walker loaders and large exo-suits as well as walker and crawler transports. Yet the pride of BC labs and most known product is the Bio Suit.
The Bio Suit resembles a well fitted jumpsuit and acts as a mechanical counter-pressure vacc suit. As armor it is similar to the protection offered by standard flexible armor suits. It offers good protection against energy and piercing attacks, yet only a limited protection against crushing, corrosive and toxic attacks. A variant with a semi-rigid vest offers (50%) increased protection to the torso. (weight and price: 6-8 lbs (or 60% of standard armor suits) with plated weighting double; Price is 10x that of a standard armor suit, with plating adding 10%).
Even heavily damaged, as long as there is access to atmosphere and sunlight (or moisture and heat on artificial environments) and it is not torn apart, the Bio Suit is capable of self "regenerating" to a full repaired status in one week (or 84 Hrs).
Standard Bio Suits have a hood-like helmet that seals seamlessly and carry small air and power packs at the belt - while the hard-plate vest variant have them integrated into the vest. These supplement the Bio Gel during the night and extend the air supply for sealed suits for over a month. The basic Bios Suits (plated or not) also sport a bio monitor and treat their integrated Bio circuitry as a standard personal computer. It have vacuum support and holds against up to 10 ATMs and against hostile environment (radiation and temperature (-460°F to 250°F / -275°C to 120°C), but not corrosive).
Common add ons are a PDA integrated to the arm, for access to the bio monitor readings as well as monitoring the Bio Suit's status and supply, a visor for enhanced reality display, a communicator and a respirator frame for more comfort to one's muzzle.
Extra add ons include dual PDAs or specialized PDAs for techs; holo-capable gloves (via enhanced reality visors); improved life support with med-injectors and an inner layer made of a healing agent gel; Sensor and interface pads integrating other equipment to the suit and at last the expensive sensor and surface suit, or chameleon layer.
Custom armor also exists, uncommon to rare, more loose to acomodate the Bio Gel, with solar pannels and heating for propper Bio Gel maintenace and with interface pads for comunicating with the Bio circuitry. Exo armors are more common as they support heavy armor over their frame and are better made to resist impact.
One limitation to the suit is the need to no obstacle under the suit, that means no clothing or armor of any kind. It's power, air recycling and self regenerating capabilities are also limited to it having acess to one's bodily wastes, atmosphere and sunlight (or moisture and (body) heat on artificial environments), meaning no armor over it except for custom armor fit for under-gel use and support.
The suit might be a little unconfortable as it first adjusts to one's form or for feeling as wet gel or jello. It is may also need adjustments to bio-monitoring and life support parameters to non-cannid users.
================================Over 2 decades ago, I wrote fragments of an RPG world… This was the base for the tech of my species and at the time I did not set apart if it was a truly biological or a synthetic technology. It was used as a vest and gloves, and also as the core / wiring inside PDAs, drones, hover vehicles, spaceships, intelligent buildings and under-cities.
Not that much an original idea since I have seen it on some sources (films, animes, RPGs). Having nothing to start from I considered wiser to just describe the stats (weight, price, protection and capabilities) as a more generic stat for easy conversion, and am certain they will be changed from this. Posted 11 years agoSo once I had this idea for a game, but never had a group for it... give a while and I started sketching the critters concept then what i had planned for a intro for the game...
So 3 years latter I find these old concepts and feel like drawing these crittters again, only I have a problem wiht ideas beyound the majot plot, that is, the lil details and choices....
The hatchling can grow into diferent "castes" but 2 (digger and drone) work as starting points along with the standard one: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/14932891/
