Posted 5 months agoI've honestly been kind of staggered and overwhelmed by how nice everyone has been to me for this past week. I feel really bad about begging for money like that, but the amount of people who've responded to it with gifts and support has really staggered me, and I'm struggling to express just how much it means to me. Thank you, and you all get a big squirrel hug to keep you going until I can really express what it means to me!
Can I just ask everyone also to give a special hug to Kola
who remembered Zee-Zee's birthday and wrote me a special story and got people to sign a card for me? That's above and beyond being a great friend, and I was really deeply moved. Go and give him some love, please! And the same goes to everyone else who's helped me and been nice to me in any way! I love you all! ^.^
And yes, it was Zee-Zee's 18th birthday last week - he was created on April 8th 2007. Does that mean I'm a grown-up now?

Help?
Posted 5 months agoI posted a journal here back in December 2023, and my situation hasn't improved hugely since then, but I'm still feeling generally better about myself now. However, I've been out of a job for a while, and now I really need an extra bit of money to tide me over until I start my new (slightly better-paying) job next Wednesday and can start to clear things up a bit.
So if you can possibly donate a little to help me out, I've got a gofundme here: https://gofund.me/0800daaa and a Shinies button on FA, whatever you can do. And I'll draw pictures or write stories for money! If you want! Just let me know! ^.^

Pin-up
Posted a year agoZee-Zee had heard about something the big kids do, and so he asked Mommy if he could put a poster of his favourite pop star on his bedroom wall! Mommy giggled in the way that she does when she thinks Zee-Zee's being cute (which is always a little bit annoying when he's being grown up and serious) and said of course, they could get one the next time they go to the shops. Zee-Zee would probably have forgotten all about it before then, but later that night when Mommy and Daddy thought he was asleep, Zee-Zee heard them talking quietly about him!
"He wants a rock star poster for his bedroom wall!" Mommy said. "My little boy's growing up so fast!"
"Oh wow, he's a teenager already?" Daddy replied. "What next? Pierced ear? Punk hairdo? Ripped jeans-style pull-ups?"
They went on talking about things that didn't mean anything to Zee-Zee but must have been super grown up things to do, and he fell asleep delighted that he'd discovered a real big-kid thing to ask for!
So when Mommy took him shopping next, Zee-Zee still remembered the poster! And they picked one of the best pop singer Zee-Zee knew - Simon from the Chipmunks, the one with glasses, wearing a really cool shiny suit and looking super clever! And put it up on the wall over Zee-Zee's bed when they got home! With Zee-Zee's big-boy bed and potty underneath it and now a poster too, it looked like the biggest big-squirrel bedroom in the universe and not even a little bit like a baby's room!
When Kaffre and little Warlock came over to play the next day, Zee-Zee took them straight to his bedroom to show them his new thing. They looked at the poster a little confusedly. "What's it do?" Warlock asked.
"It doesn't do anything," Zee-Zee explained. "It's just, um, on the wall." Now he came to look at it like that, it seemed kind of a strange idea.
"I thought you got a new toy," Kaffre said, a little disappointed.
Zee-Zee decided that obviously only grown-ups would know how grown up his poster was. But then he remembered the best part of it. "It came in a cardboard tube!" he said, pulling it out from under his bed. "I've got three now! We can all have one!"
And so they each grabbed a tube and spent the rest of the morning playing sword-fights or telescopes or tunnels for toy cars or the millions of other things you can do with a cardboard tube! That's why posters are so cool! It all makes sense now!

"I get like this with fictional characters sometimes"
Posted a year agoI said that in my last journal, and it's true - I sometimes fall head over heels in love with fictional characters and want to cherish and protect them forever. Another one of those precious, vulnerable, adorable characters is Coney the rabbit from the annual Pawpets show at Confuzzled.
It was the 2012 show that did it for me - watch the video here
And now... I'm taking over the role of Coney for this year's performance. I was amazed to pass the audition! But can I really do justice to portraying one of my heroes? It's like becoming the new Doctor Who, only much much much more so! It's scary. But also really quite wonderful! I fall in love with characters who are like me, and now one of them IS me!

, just the interlude scenes with the pictures and Coney narrating his life. How could anyone not fall in love with him after seeing that? And ever since then, whenever someone I know has got involved in Pawpets, I've begged them to make sure nothing bad ever happens to Coney!

I love Simon Seville
Posted a year agoOkay, Simon's always been my favourite Chipmunk, obviously - he's the clever one! But I've been watching the 21st-century Chipmunks cartoon for the last week (it's been playing all day, every day on a TV channel in this country) and, wow, it's really great! I should have watched it before!
And the thing is, my paternal hormones have kicked into overdrive - Simon sometimes comes across as so sweet and vulnerable! The episode "Love Song", where he's written a poem to vent his feelings about the girl he had a crush on, and then Dave finds it and makes it into a song and poor Simon is too embarrassed to admit he wrote it... well, it makes me want to hug him and protect him forever!
I get like this with fictional characters sometimes. They don't have to be little rodents with big glasses and lots of cleverness, they can even be grown-up humans if they tug the right heartstrings in me. I should probably make a list and identify exactly what the magic formula is, but I'm too busy imagining being Simon's big brother and taking care of him... ^.^

Updates
Posted 2 years agoThis is really difficult for me to write, because basically I really want people to think I'm cool and don't like to admit I've got problems, but...
It's December, and I should be posting the first Advent Calendar picture of the year - which is important to me, because it's my way of saying thanks to my friends, and also it's probably the main thing I'm known for in the babyfur world and beyond (except "being Gem's brother", which isn't really my accomplishment), and I don't want to not do it in case people all forget I exist. But in all honesty, I've been stressed and depressed about a lot of things just lately, and I just can't get in the mood to draw.
Last Saturday, I fell down and injured my knee - I've got a history of knee problems, and it'll get better, but I've generally got physical problems; I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis earlier this year, and that freaks me out a lot, even though it's not doing me a great deal of damage. I live by myself and I'm very socially isolated a lot of the time, which is how I like it, and the thought of needing other people to take care of me when I'd rather be on my own is what really terrifies me about the whole thing. I had to spend a couple of days in hospital in the spring, and really hated it. I like being with other people, but only when there's an escape route I can take if I want it.
And then there's work. I like to work in an office - I'm an accountant and financial analyst - and since covid, these kinds of jobs have mostly involved working from home a lot, which I really don't like. I've also sort of got a very minor celebrity career as a memory man, which has taken me around the world and occasionally brought in some nice money, but again since covid there's been less of that kind of thing. I feel like I've lost a lot of the social interactions I do like.
I quit my job at the end of 2021 to take some time off, which is something I've done several times over the years, and does good for my mental health, but it does always mean borrowing money and being stretched for cash until I can get back into something good again, and I've been having trouble with that lately. I had another job that paid enough to keep me going until something better came along, but they didn't offer me a permanent role at the end of the temp contract (which annoyed me a lot, because people have done that in every temp job I've had before now), and I moved into another that doesn't pay very well (by the standards of accountant/analyst money; it's still more than a lot of people have to survive on) and is inconvenient to get to, which has left me with financial struggles. I need to find a way to make some extra money, but I've been finding it difficult to put my mind to that because of my other stresses.
So, long story short, I haven't got an advent calendar picture to share. But actually, typing all this out has made me feel a lot better - maybe I should share this kind of stuff more often and not worry about scaring people away. Also, I'm going to open up Shinies here on FA, and if anyone can donate a little bit of cash, I'd be very grateful. Love you all! ^.^

Happy birthday sweet sixteen!
Posted 2 years agoZee-Zee first came into existence on April 8th, 2007. He's 16 years old tomorrow! And it's a Saturday, in the middle of a four-day weekend in Britain, and I really wanna spend the day drawing pictures! Do you wanna come and play and celebrate 16 years in potty-training? What do you wanna do? Tell me an idea and I might (no promises) draw it! ^.^
Confuzzled meme
Posted 3 years agoAll the cool kids are doing it (well, Star's done it, and who's cooler than Star?)
1. What is your name?
Zee-Zee. It's pretty easy to remember, it's basically 'easy' with an extra Z at the front!
2. What is your gender?
Boy squirrel.
3. How old are you?
Two and a bit! Or 45, but let's pretend that isn't true.
4. How tall are you?
5'8", give or take. I sort of get lost in a crowd of average-height people. Maybe I should try stilts>
5. Where are you staying?
At the main hotel.
6. What day are you getting there?
The first day, whatever that is. Thursday? Friday? I'll be there from the start, anyway!
7. Who will you be with?
By myself, but hanging out with anyone who wants to hang out with me!
8. Do you have art in the art show?
No, but I'll draw you a picture if you want one!
9. What suit(s) will you have?
I really need to get a good suit some day...
10. Can I dance with you?
Sure! I'm not very good at it, though! ^.^
11. Can I touch you?
Lots! If you're gentle about it.
12. Can I talk to you?
Super extra lots! Come and talk to me! And tell me your name! Show me your badge, in fact, because sometimes when people tell me their name I still don't realise who they are and have to pretend I know them for half an hour until I realise that I actually did know who they are all along!
13. Can I hug you?
Super double extra lots, please! Hugs are what makes the world go round!
14. Can I take photos of you/with you?
Definitely!
15. Can I buy you lots of drinks?
Please do, but beware of the drunken squiggle.
16. Do you drink Alcohol/Smoke?
Yes/No, respectively.
17. Can I give you lots of money?
It'd be nice, certainly, but you don't have to if you don't want to.
18. Can I hang out with you?
Of course! Please do!
19. How will I recognize you?
I'm the one with lots of badges with Zee-Zee on them. Also, I'm bald with a mostly white beard and glasses. I've been on TV, people know what I look like.
20. Where will you be most of the time during the con?
In the bar, or in my room that you're welcome to come and play in too!
21. Who are you rooming with?
On my own. Single room! Yay! I'll post the number here when I arrive, probably.
22. Attending any events?
Probably one or two. Gem's little scribbles for certain, and anything else that sounds like fun!
23. How can I find you at the con?
I'm sure we'll bump into each other. Just wander around. Or shout "Zee-Zeeeeeee!" quite loudly.
24. Are you doing anything in line with the theme?
I'm still trying to think how to reflect "A World Reborn". I'll see what I can do...
See you there! Wheeeeeee! ^.^

It's a new year!
Posted 3 years agoI thought I should clear away the Christmassy journal and most recent and featured submissions on my page, seeing as it's a whole new year. Happy twenty-twenty-two! Two is the best number! It's easy to count up to, and it's how old you are when you're a big nearly totally grown up squirrel! Yay! ^.^

TMI!
Posted 4 years agoAll the cool kids are doing this today! Go and ask some questions to
Tacki,
Gus-the-hedgehog,
Landonbay and
Maxythefoxcub! Because I can never think of a really good question to ask in these things, but I like reading other people's!
And hey, it's still just about Tuesday in this country! Ask me anything you want to know! I'm clever! ^.^

Posted 4 years agoI'm always good, of course! What's everyone else up to? (I won't tattle if you're not being good, I promise...) ^.^
Happy New Year, everyone!
Posted 4 years agoHugs for everybody! I'm the new year big squirrel, because 2021 is a really really big number, and definitely big enough not to need diapers any more! ^.^
Too much information?

Happy New Decade!
Posted 5 years agoWowee, it's 2020! Nearly! Actually, it's 10:20 as I write this, and that was totally unintentional, so I'll have to type super fast before the clock ticks over!
Happy new year and I hope you all have a great one and what are you planning to do and do you wanna play? *pause for breath* What else? Oh, right... HUGS! *giggles and runs around with a new year hug for everybody*

Unlucky for some?
Posted 5 years agoIt's Friday the thirteenth today, and I've just posted day 13 of my thirteenth annual advent calendar picture. I'm almost certain that things work differently in the always-happy babyfur world, though, so this means super extra good luck for Tera and everybody who sees the calendar today! ^.^
This is actually the first time I've posted an advent calendar picture on FA on Friday the thirteenth - December 13 was a Friday in 2013, but FurAffinity was offline for a week in December that year, so nobody posted anything!

Hey, cubs! Do you know what time it is?
Posted 6 years agoIt's nearly Christmas time! Sorry I haven't been posting anything here just lately, but I'll try to make up for it in December. The advent calendar is going to be a little bit different this year. You'll see what I mean soon... ^.^
You have to be British to understand this

Everybody come and look at meeee!
Posted 6 years agoI'm on 49968 page visits, so I just need 32 more people to drop by and see what I'm doing, and then I'll have a really big number on my front page!
And to celebrate, and because I wanna draw more pictures, I'm going to try to post something every single day in October! It might be tricky, because I'm going to France in the middle of the month, but I need to doodle more fluffy things!
Also, here's a big squirrel hug for everyone! *huggggggggggs*

Ask a squirrel

Squeeeeee! Guess what! Guess what! *excited squirrel noises*
Posted 6 years agoI won a free holiday in the Azores in a raffle! Including an excursion to swim with dolphins and look at whales! So I'm going there in September, with Feefers, for five days, all for free! Yaaaaaaay! *bounces around the room*
The backyard water park!
Posted 6 years agoCheck out Sarah's wonderful picture! https://www.furaffinity.net/view/32249066/
With a squeal of delight, Zee-Zee slid down the big inflatable slide, and splashed gently into the paddling pool. He'd needed a tiny little bit of grown-up help to get up to the top, but then he'd slid all the way down all by himself, and not even been a tiny bit scared!
The pool was starting to fill up as more and more little cubs arrived - some had been excited enough to dive straight in without changing into their "swim trainers" like Zee-Zee, but he had been properly dressed for the water by his daddy before starting to play. And by the way, they were definitely trainers, not diapers - see, they've got Tigger on them, and who could possibly be a bigger boy than Tigger? Luckily, the little ones who hadn't started potty-training yet were all wearing different brands, so there wouldn't be any arguments from a clever little squirrel today!
Zee-Zee heard Timothy lamenting that the water had made his pull-up soggy and wobbly, and then noticed Melissa telling her daddy that she needed to use the potty - he came over to help her out of the pool and take her inside the house, and Zee-Zee thought to himself that maybe it was time to be a clever big squirrel like that, too. He maybe did need his potty, now he came to think of it...
But on the other hand, Mika the panda, a fun and friendly big boy who Zee-Zee looked up to as a hero, was climbing up the wall of the inflatable pool, and that was a golden opportunity for a big squirrel to show off his big-squirrel climbing skills to everybody! And there were Zee-Zee's friends Tacki and Snow, and he'd just thought of a clever game they could all play in the pool, making big giant waves by sliding back and forth! And they still wore diapers, so they would just keep on playing and not have to get out for a potty break... and Zee-Zee had already shown everyone how brave he was by going down the slide... and the grown-ups had already told him he was a good boy for being polite to Mrs Copper and promising to do anything lifeguard Maisy asked him to do...
Maybe, just maybe, Zee-Zee thought to himself, he might pretend he didn't need the potty after all. The swim diaper started to feel a little warmer, as he splashed happily towards his friends. ^.^

Lots of Anthrocon!
Posted 6 years agoI'm back home from Pittsburgh, and I had to go to work today even though I'm still sleepy, but still, I had lots of fun at AC! There were lots and lots and lots of friendly cubs there, including some I've known for years and years but never met in real life! I met
swift_fox, which makes me feel kind of like talking to a celebrity, because I was reading his babyfur stories before I even really knew babyfur stories were a thing! I went to a quiz show with
ironmania2003 and
cryolu and showed everyone how clever I am by getting lots of questions right (and I would've won, if not for those pesky Whammies!) I got caught in the biggest rainstorm ever with
orangetabby106 and we were super extra soaked (but not in that way, silly babies!) but it was still lots of fun! I got to meet and hug
marinaneira for the first time ever, and
snowthebear, and
candithewildpiggy and lots and lots and lots of other people too! And there was
toddlergirl, who I see more often, but she's still the bestest little baby sister squirrel and gives the best hugs!
Squeeeeeeeeek! *giggles over-excitedly, and then falls asleep*
