I've been really enjoying the art I've been doing on this account and the fun peeps I've met through it. I've received lots of fun engagement, responses, ideas, suggestions, etc, and it's just generally been a good time! The problem is, all those folks are scattered all over the place (FA comments and notes, Bsky, E6, various Tele chats, various Discord servers and DMs, etc). That makes it pretty tricky to share wips, get feedback, get suggestions, etc.
So, to solve this, I've created a new Discord community server for myself named Zelko's Donut Farm! This is where I'll share WIPs, take suggestions and ideas, share art I like, and generally engage with the community following my art. You can join at the link below!

- I want to leave my WIPs and Suggestions channels open to all, but I will see how that goes. Worst case scenario I'll, set up a very cheap SubscribeStar or something and limit it to that and server boosters.

Rare Soapbox Moment
Posted 6 months agoReturning from a work-cation I was offline during to find that one of my favorite artists banned me from their Patreon, Discord server, blocked both my FA (Zelko) and LM FA (Blu), and both corresponding Bluesky accounts as well, all with zero warning or explanation, is wild.
I was fairly inactive as far as engaging with their community, but the last thing I remember doing was using this Zebra-Heart emoji I made to react to an art post, which yes, has a silly little tail.
My other guess is that they looked at Zelko's account and took personal issue with the art on it. The same could be possible for Blu's art I suppose, hard to say.
Assuming one of those is right: It continues to blow my mind how there are people who are so atypical (fetishes, how they present themselves, etc), who demand acceptance and respect, but loose their minds with others over the slightest misstep out of what they consider acceptable.
This world is a two way road, learn to give what you get.

Not going to Anthrocon 2025
Posted 8 months agoI put out a journal back when I bought my badge that I would be attending Anthrocon 2025.
Unfortunately, due to some huge surprise life expenses that unfolded over the past month (new vehicle, moving, etc), I ultimately decided I had to cancel those plans. Those life changes should all be a net positive, and so far have been, but the expenses (and lingering unknown expenses/problems that have yet to be worked out) are just too much of a concern for expensive travel.
Fingers crossed I'll be going in 2026!

Should I post my robots on this account?
Posted 10 months agoJust throwing this out into the void for anyone who has or wants to give thoughts.
For only the 173rd time, I find myself wondering about how best to post and share my art. Given I make (often feral) furry art, mechaphilia art, and robot art that melds the two together to some extent or another, it feels like a never ending game of "how can I post this in a way that makes everyone happy?"
My latest change of only posting my more general furry art over to this account seems to have gone over very well, and still feels like a really good choice to me. I can't deny with Zelko being my main sona and myself spending a lot more time on that type of art, this will likely become my main account one day.
That said, as I've been posting other old art like Blutoothless or Ainoinen over to E6 and pointing that art to Blu's account, I'm gaining followers on Blu's account who I'm worried might have a stroke when I post straight up mechaphilia stuff. So, I'm currently contemplating, at least going forward, posting copies of at least some of the robot art I do over to this account since i think it would likely be just fine to a larger audience.

Ironically, while I avoided E6 for years due to complicated reasons I don't want to get into, it's feeling more and more like my best place to post because folks can just blacklist tags as they feel fit to see only the content they want.

Downloading my artwork - Thumbnail/Animation issues
Posted a year agoI keep getting notes/comments/etc about my animation files not playing when downloaded/saved, or only the thumbnail is downloaded. So, rather than continue to address each one individually, I figured it was time to make a journal I could link back to.
Custom thumbnails on FA are still very broken and have never worked in my time on the site (since 2017). I just have a clever workaround. There's actually only one image file containing both the CW and the full image which have been assembled into an animated PNG file. That animated file is actually set to skip frame one (the CW) but the automatic thumbnail generator doesn't understand this and thus uses the CW image as the thumbnail. Your browser does understand this though so it skips frame one (the CW) and displays the only other image in the animated file, that being the full image without the CW.
When you download the PNG file onto a Windows, Mac, Iphone, Android, Etc - almost all pre-installed local photo viewers don't understand APNG as it's typically only used on the web (hence web browsers do understand it). So, you're going to see the thumbnail and not the main image, just as the thumbnail generator on FA does. If you want to see the full image, you need something that does understand APNGs like Irfanview.
This is due to the very same thing. I rarely use GIF as I want to do custom thumbnails, I want the MUCH higher quality of APNG, and I upload animations over 250~ frames which when done with GIF break the thumbnail generator on FA entirely. So, what you are downloading is the full animation file itself in a singular .PNG file. And again, Windows, Mac, Iphone, Android, Etc - almost all pre-installed local photo viewers don't understand APNG as it's typically only used on the web (hence web browsers do understand it). So, you're going to see the thumbnail and not the animation, just as the thumbnail generator on FA does. If you want to see the full animation (which will skip the thumbnail just like your browser and play the animation), you need something that does understand APNGs like Irfanview.
