New Directions...
Posted 8 years agoHello everyone, it's been a while. A lot has happened in the past few months. I don't really upload as much here anymore. I have been taking my art in a new direction. I felt like I was stagnant a while ago, and I wanted to change that. Back in August of last year I attended an art show to see an old college friend of mine showcase his art work. I met many other artists there and saw some really cool work. I felt inspired. I wanted to change the way I was doing things. I wanted to do an art event as well. There was so much in the way of positive vibes there. I would show other artists my artwork on my phone and they would tell me that I should have been doing shows. After the event, I began to push even harder and prepare for the next show I could submit my work to. The opportunity came up, I applied, and I got accepted. I began to work on new pieces for the show. My rendering improved during the process. So I produced 3 pieces to show for the art show. Last month was art show I participated in for the first time. I didn't sell as many prints as I would have liked. But I got so much in the way of positive feedback on my style. It just didn't cater to the demographic at the show. I wasn't even mad about it. I felt good that I got out there and did it. I actually got commission requests for my services. So I felt like that was a win for me. Hell, I've been doing quite a bit of freelance work lately. Some friends of mine that do podcasts have been putting my name out there.
Which brings me to what some have been wondering. Will I continue Phantom Ops? I may not. My head is in such a different place right now. I loved it at first, but I don't know, I've lost interest in it over the course of the last few months. I could still do it, even with my day job and workout schedule, but my focus has been elsewhere. I do apologize to the fans of the comic most importantly. I felt like it never really caught a buzz anyway which is probably the main cause of my lack of interest in it. I have the next page flatted and ready to detail and put dialogue in. I haven't touched it since December. I wanted to finish the story arc but it's a two part and it's a long one. I honestly don't care enough to do it. I will still do art of the characters, but as far as the comic, I may never work on it again. I'm almost always open for commissions so feel free to get with me on that. If you don't want to follow my work anymore, I understand. Life goes on right? Oh yeah, just to be clear, I'm not sad or depressed. I'm actually quite happy. I just felt like you needed to know what was going on.

About Phantom Ops...
Posted 9 years agoHello everyone. I hope all is well. I have gotten some messages about the future of Phantom Ops. My response to it is that I don't have much in the way of time to work on the comic anymore. I wanted to finish out the current arc and then take a break but I cannot. I work for a casino. My work schedule is very demanding of my time unfortunately. I need the money. I wish I had more time to do the comic and other art as well. But I work a lot. I wanted to push this art thing to make it my main source of income but that does not seem like that's going to happen right now. I enjoy doing art. In reality, I have to live. I have to keep my bills paid and keep the roof over my head.
The good news is, I'm moving back to Georgia finally after almost 2 years of being away. I want to pursue art and make it my main source of income ultimately. The art community in Atlanta is pretty dope and I have a way into that community. I want to push my art in a new direction because the old way isn't working. So there must be change. For those who've noticed, my rendering style has been changing. That is an example of the a direction I want to go in with my art. I have to diversify to become a better artist.
I appreciate those loyal fans that have followed the comic and showed us so much love. I miss drawing those characters as well. I hate that I am unable to continue with my favorite area of the story. I am honestly all out of ideas at the moment. My best friend and writer on the script suggested that I should update maybe twice a month or even once a month for until we get back to a regular schedule. he just wants to keep the comic alive and going still even though there is not as much time as it used to be for frequent posts. Would that be a good idea?

You're not limited to how many sets of 2 you can do! So if you're interested, get those requests in or if you know someone who wants this, tell them too! Now that I have finally corrected that, Hopefully I will be able to shock you all with my artistic creations. Phantom-Ops is an anthro cyberpunk styled action series that pits an elite team of operatives against corrupt governments, corporations, syndicates, and other evil activities that go on. Aside from fighting evil, they have adventure with dealing with one another due to their different backgrounds. Anyways, I hope to become a wonderful addition to this community!
