Hi guys, just a quick status update! My method of doing sketch commissions changes with my mood sometimes- usually I do them one at a time, from rough draft to final color all in one sitting, but other times it's easier for me to do a bunch of drafts at once, and then finish them later. That's what I'm doing now. I have seven rough sketches done; tonight I'll do the other seven, and then the rest of the week will be dedicated to finalizing the details and coloring. :) So I'll probably post a huge sketchdump towards the end of the week. I was going to run it by the mods first and make sure it would be okay to announce publicly, but whatever. If this is considered 'targeting' they can remove it themselves. I do not want to incite a flame war against this guy. The art in question was removed by an admin already, there's no point in going to his page and attacking him. No news on the tablet yet, but I will post a journal when it gets here! I think I'm going to end up offering a small number of tablet-practice slots alongside my regular commissions. Keep an eye out!

Just got back from the post office. Everyone's sketches (with the exception of  kashmere who is on hold) are on their way, so keep an eye out for them this week. If you could let me know through a shout or a note or something when they get to you, that would be awesome!

PS. Do you want to know how long a receipt for 38 envelopes plus postage is? It's just under five feet long. :V

There are like 5000 sketch commissions on my desk, lol. I just got done sorting them all by character/commissioner. They're taking up a lot of space, I'd love to be able to mail out more originals to people! I've been watching a bunch of Disney movies lately.
So, what Disney movie is your fave? Which is your least favorite?

Keep in mind I'm talking about DISNEY here. For the sake of discussion, stuff by Dreamworks/Bluth/etc. doesn't count, nor does Studio Ghibli stuff, as awesome as it may be.

Speakin' of Disney movies, I was watching the Lion King the other day and noticed something that I've never noticed before, even though I've watched it a zillion times since I was like five years old. All throughout the first part, Scar has a dark gradient on his nose. But in every scene after Simba grows up, he has a light gradient, like his muzzle is going white with age. That is such an awesome detail!

TLK is my favorite Disney movie and one of my top favorite animated films in general. Kimba ripoff or not, it's beautifully done and you can tell that they just put so much heart into it (with little things like the aforementioned). It's the first movie I remember going to see in the theater. And while most things from your childhood lose their magic as you grow up, TLK just keeps getting better for me.

My least favorite? Fuckin' Snow White. And don't try to tell me "but it was the first full-length animated movie ever, it was groundbreaking, how can you hate that?" Just because it was the first doesn't mean it was good! It's like trying to pass off your refrigerator art from kindergarten as a timeless masterpiece. And her singing is SO ANNOYING. XD
