In case of outages
Posted 6 years agoJust wanted to mention I'm always active on Twitter in cases where FA goes down.
I also have Weayl (which needs to direly be updated), and am working on finding other art archive alternatives (I.E FurryNetwork, SoFurry, etc) just to have more backups. But Twitter and FA will still be my main archives unless something drastic happens. But yeah, no news, just a reminder.

Some Updates
Posted 7 years agoHey people. Sorry for going quiet recently on FA recently. I had been in the process of moving over the last month, and just got settled back in today. Computer's put back together, Internet access is restored. Things are looking on track for this year. Although there are still a few more things to take care of over the next week, progress on The Greatest Catch should be able to resume again soon along with other art in general.
At the same time, I had been keeping some regular updates on Twitter if you aren't already following it. During the course of the move, I've been uploading small time sketches (clean and otherwise) there during what down time I could get. I'm not sure if some of them will be uploaded to FA, but it's been fun to have a medium to just doodle something when it strikes the mood and just machine gun it out so there will most likely be a bit of art activity over there as well!
That's it for now. There's still a lot of time in the year still, and a lot can happen in that time. I've got some larger life plans in the works for this year, but for now, I feel like I can finally relax a little. I will keep you guys posted as stuff happens tho. Until next post.

Gratuitous Holiday Event 2017

It's a little over halfway through November so it's about that time of the year again for another installation in the yearly Gratuitous series.
It was Maya and Den for the last couple years, but I've always wanted to give the Dragon Clan characters some love too. The hardest part was always trying to figure out what to do with them though, and it's still a hard decision now. However, because my holiday is going to be a little busier this year (with people leaving my dept at work, and the 99.5% chance of moving next year and planning that also), I'm going to go the simple route, and just make it an open free-for-all. All characters are open to suggestion to get with each other, and like always, I'll try to go all out with them.
Want to see Ruze and Ammon together? No problem.
Want to see Maya get it on with Millie? That can be done.
Want to see Excalibur in a threeway with Den and Ricky? Awesome.
Hell, want to see a random background character from a Dragon Clan comic or some random Valdens or Myriad get it on with anyone else? That's perfectly do-able as well.
These are only just examples though. Swamp Dragons, Magma Dragons, misc. Maya characters are all in the pool also.
I know it's kind of a plain suggestion for this year, but with things being a bit more stressful right now IRL, I really want to keep it simple. I'll fill you guys in on some of the details on what's going on later, but for now, just leave a comment below of what you would like to see, and I'll keep looking at them as the month goes on.

10,000 Watches!
Posted 8 years agoIt's been what felt like a short four and a half years, and it looks like the odometer has passed the 10,000 mark. Thanks to all of you guys for all watches, and years of input to help get to this point. Regardless if you left a comment, gave gift art, left a favorite, or just simply remained a silent watcher, I'm glad you all were able to find something you've liked on this li'l ole' page, and hope you will continue to do so for more years to come! :3
That said, if you have been paying attention to my Twitter page, you'll know I've mentioned that I am currently working on a special pic to celebrate the milestone. It's still going to be a little bit before it's complete, but it's pretty much sketched out at this point. I'm hoping to get that inked, colored, and touched up soon. I might also get one or two sketchy pieces out before it is finished, but I will keep you all updated on that. So look forward to it!

Like last year, I wanted to do something that you guys get to decide what content goes in on. So to mix things up a bit, the main guy the set will follow will be Den this time.
So it will be several pics of Den with whatever pokemon you guys decide. If you wanted to, you can even specify if to be M/M, M/F, if you wanted it to involve a character in one of Maya's stories, and there are no limitations this time on choosing a legendary or two this. Again, I won't be able to get to everybody's suggestions, but I'll try to tackle as many as I can even if it has to go into January a little. We just got a new revision to the pokedex too, so Alola Region partners are esspecially welcome.
To make a suggestion, simply leave it on the comments selection below, and then at the bottom of subsequent pics as they come out.

I don't have a table in the artist's alley or anything, I'll mostly just be hanging with people, and walking around. I'll jot down a couple quick sketches as I get ready to go, but if you are attending this year too, who knows, we might run into each other. If we do, don't worry, I don't bite. Posted 9 years agoThanks to all the voices of reason everyone provided, I'm deciding to go ahead with it. I won't bother creating a seperate folder for (I guess call it)"off-script" material, but there will be more of it around. I'm not going to get myself worked up over it. It was a non-issue to begin with, but thanks for bearing with it until I could get my head on straight again. Nothing more to say other than stay tuned. More material on the horizon.
A couple silly, but serious questions...

Normally, I do good to keep my characters out of each other's business/universes for the sake of keeping things consistant, and give them a bit more context. However, sometimes I feel like that limits what I can do with them. Being honest about a subject here, there are times I'd like to draw some of my characters doing stuff, but I always have a nagging feeling that whatever I post will be considered out of place. So in the end, I tend to censor myself before actually doing anything. The idea I was thinking of was putting together a "Non-Canon Junk" folder or something like that to post stuff that would bear no consequence to their stories at large. Something sort of like how the non-canon series of pics with Maya back in December was handled where I could cut loose, and go bananas with stuff. However, it would also include The Dragon Clan stuff, other assorted characters, and even Zero too.
I already know there's a bunch of you who I can count on support, and probably a larger group of people who would be fine either way too. However, I don't get much serious feedback on whether something may be a good idea or not. A lot of work was put into these guys, and doing something like that may feel like selling out, and/or probably even give them some kind of negative connotation. Perhaps that kind of thing might be unavoidable at times, but I don't want that stuff to make it seem like there is no love for the characters, and the stories they come from, and what has been established.
Or perhaps I think way too much about this kind of stuff. It's probably way more of a non-issue than what it's seeming like. Either way, I wouldn't know if I didn't get some honest feedback to help put my mind at ease.
So my questions are (A) would it bother people if I posted pics of my characters in a non-story manner by either interacting with other characters or situations they would/wouldn't normally engage in or (B) would I be selling out or worse doing something like this to my characters, after all the work that was put into them over the years, all for the sake of some sleaze?
