When you work by commission, you forfeit any idea of "minimum wage" or "dollars an hour".

Hourly wages are in jobs that require you to be quick, efficient, and consistent. That doesn't happen in art. If you're going to worry about how much you make "per hour", then start charging by the hour. Oh wait, that doesn't work, because everyone works at different speeds and that doesn't mean the quality is the same across the board!
