Zillford 2.0 (a must read if I owe you art!)

(Jump to the end for the TL;DR version)
I've been making ok headway on my horrendous backlog, slow progress on my book, and some success launching my Patreons. While I've been peppier, more centered and more productive since I kicked my addiction a year ago I still haven't felt "all there" and I've especially wanted to put the afterburners on regarding latent commissions (getting insulting/harassing/threatening emails every few days gets old fast!)
So a week ago I finished jumping through the hoops to renew my decade dormant prescription for ADDeral and, damn, was that ever the missing piece or what? In just ONE WEEK I've managed to match my output of the entire previous MONTH. I feel present, attentive, and focused. I have both a newfound calm and a fresh drive.
Given all of this, it's time to mark your calendars. 2015 was the year Zill righted his wrongs, cleared his name, achieved new heights of both art and accomplishment:
*My supporters, friends, and true fans will get a 2nd coming of tasty art.
*My long suffering Kickstarter backers will get a book that's 10x better than what they would have received if I had somehow managed to deliver on time.
*Occasional "Doodles for Dollars" and backlog streams again!
*My harassing haters whom I owe work to will get my best efforts on their work (and then can shut up and never commission me again.)
*My haters who I DON'T owe artwork will get, gee, I dunno... I honestly don't know where YOU'RE coming from. Maybe you'll get a cup of coffee and a healthier perspective?
*My cats will get brushed more often. YOU might not care about this, but they'll LOVE me for it.
Anywho, I figured my return to FA would be rather feeble if I didn't have a bushel of new uploads for y'all so I'm gonna dump some right now and you can expect regular uploads, updates, and art in general from now on!

I owe lots of you folks art. A small portion of those I owe have expressed their displeasure in less than becoming ways.
If you've politely noted me/emailed me (even several times) to state that you're exceptionally angry at me, disappointed with my follow-through, or simply don't like my face, DON'T WORRY you're fine in my book. You deserve your art and have a right to feel however you want about it and express it to me.
However, regarding those who have behaved/are thinking of behaving like a child/mafioso/shitbag about it: know that along with tightening up my ship on making good on owed work I'm ALSO done dealing with impotent attempts to somehow expedite your art with insults/harassment/legal threat/whatever.
*Going forward, anyone who shouts on my front page or comments on posted art in a manner that directly or passive-aggressively needles/snarks/harasses about owed work will be hidden and blocked from my gallery.
Your work will STILL be completed (in the same time and of the same quality that it would have if you WEREN'T shitty) and emailed to you. Even if you've proven to have no respect or regard to me I still got paid for it and you still deserve your work.
*Similarly, Notes/Emails will be treated with the same lack of tolerance for harassment, however as I stated above you're ALWAYS welcome to Note/Email me with inquiries about your commission (and if you really feel like it, you can state your anger/disappointment with me, even with the barest of politeness. I don't blame you, I'M angry at me too!)

Posted 11 years agoHey folks, I haven't been around much last week cuz I've been busy in the trenches working on catchup commissions. Lots of color work rolling out soon, not to mention some line-arts and a handful of sketches for your eager little hands to approve!
So, I wanted to give folks the heads-up that I'll be having a big ol' stream-a-palooza tonight:
*Starting things off with catchup stuff
*Then a DfD if anyone's interested
*FINALLY the first of the Krista Patreon Exclusive Streams, which is available to my Patrons who've pledged to a high enough level! Interested in getting in on this? Just click here to check out my Patreon. I'll also post a few more teasers soon to give you an idea of what you could be getting in on!

The bad news: By the time me and Scott got in touch about making my design official he had already sold the rights to official FN@F merch. While he recommended me to the new owners they decided to go with a different artist.
The good news: They're at least available again through my Redbubble store. (And if you read this, Scott, I want a picture of you wearing one whenever you get yours!)

While I STILL feel kinda crappy (2 weeks of this? C'MON, body!) I'm back in town and ready to get up to get down!
I see I already have a bunch of comments and questions in regards to art, my Patreon, etc. I'm gonna take a couple hour nap here (bear with me, it was a 16 hour drive!) but then I'm going to leap right into action trying to address a bunch of folks and to get cranking right away on the art front!
Might also have some stream action coming up this week, so stay tuned!

Attack of the flu

What seemed like a harmless cold on Monday bloomed into a full-on fever-and-chills body-rockin' flu. Change can be scary, change can be uncertain, but often, change is good.
I need a change. It's going to be a slow one, and some people may be disappointed with it, but ultimately it's in the best interests of me and most of my fans and supporters.
I want to accelerate the rate on catching up on my old commissions as well as significantly scale-back on taking new ones. I want to focus on my comics and my OWN ideas.
I believe that while a tailor-made commission pleases a handful of fans it bears little interest to the REST of my fanbase. Leaving me with plenty of +Watchers, but no unified artistic movement and a weaker connection to my true fans.
My hope is that creating what -I- want to see will appeal to the largest cut of my fans AND with much more power. This presumptuously assumes that I'm extra-creative and have a strong vision, but after 10+ years doing this art-gig that's what I believe.
While my backlog IS shrinking faster than it's growing, I want to be free sooner than later. The weight of me frustrating and disappointing my clients is crushing my spirit, heavily contributing to depression, and just generally hanging over every moment of my life. If I'm to reach my next level of artistic exploration and expression I need a clean slate.

my hand's starting to do a bit better, so I'll be easing back into work tonight.
I'll be making my stream (finally) but it'll probably be a short one just to make sure I don't instantly wang my hand again. Then going off how it's doing I'll get back on my backlog tomorrow (which I might stream) and hopefully back up to full steam then.

I prefer larger commissions ($100 and up) but am in need enough that I'll at least entertain all offers. So let me know what you're looking for and maybe we can make some magic together!
