Thoughts on moving account?
Posted a year agoSo we posted a journal a while back expressing the want to move accounts. To be frank, this name is dated and the account holds a lot of memories I'd rather not think about.
Everywhere else online we go by TheCatHerd - and since name changes seem to be far on the horizon we're considering whether it's worth it to move.
We don't want to lose the followers and reputation we've gained here over the years but man, the confusion with usernames is so tiring.
I suppose at this point I'm trying to measure whether it's worth losing a large chunk of our follower base just to feel more comfortable in our skin or not.
Everywhere else online we go by TheCatHerd - and since name changes seem to be far on the horizon we're considering whether it's worth it to move.
We don't want to lose the followers and reputation we've gained here over the years but man, the confusion with usernames is so tiring.
I suppose at this point I'm trying to measure whether it's worth losing a large chunk of our follower base just to feel more comfortable in our skin or not.

Poor Health - Reduced Commission Slots

November through the end of January is a really difficult period for our c-PTSD and we can feel the effects very heavily right now, we've been dissociating heavily almost constantly for the past week. Because of this, we can't commit to commissions outside of Icons/Eyecons, Artistic Liberty, and the YCHs we post.
If you do decide to get something from us in this period, we please ask for your patience and compassion as our capacity to work is very limited most days right now. Thank you.

If you've been in the Discord you already know, but we've restructured our commission process and prices.
Our price sheet has been updated with options that better reflect what you're getting. We've also added Eyecons to the options available!
Our ToS contained in the same document has also been updated to be easier to read, and to allow us to charge for excessive numbers of adjustments.
We are now only accepting commissions and quote requests through a form, which is linked on our profile and in our Price and ToS document. This is to streamline the process and organise information in a way that's more useful for me and, hopefully, easier for you to give. You're still welcome to ask questions in DMs but if you ask for a quote or to start a commission, I will redirect you to this form.
The slot system has been working really well so far, thanks to the people who've responded so well to it. It'll continue to be our pinned journal each month.

About Our System - FAQ
Posted 2 years agoI realised that we don't have much info about our system here on FA so I figured I'd use a Journal as a means to share information and answer questions. If you would like to ask us anything you're more than welcome to comment and we'll get to it when we can. <3
What is a system? What does any of this mean?
In short, a system is when there are multiple distinct consciousnesses sharing a brain and body.
There are a lot of ways that systems can form and function. We were purposefully created by our abusers as a very young child and endured a lot of trauma from basically birth to age 20 or so. We've never been in a position to get a diagnosis but we are a textbook definition of Dissociative Identity Disorder.
Because of this, we are quite prone to new alters coming into existence, otherwise known as splitting. Last time we counted we're in the 400-500s in terms of total alter count, though only a fraction of those front regularly.
We do experience memory loss between alters. Our regular fronting circle generally speaking is pretty good at communicating within itself and getting the basics shared but sudden unexpected switches, or switching with alters outside that circle, can cause much greater amnesia.
Will you talk/answer questions about your trauma?
Maybe, maybe not. We are quite open about what happened on a surface level, but we only really go in depth if it comes up in conversation or with our very closest friends and partners. Generally speaking we won't answer questions from strangers about the trauma itself since you'd be amazed how many people are willing to fetishise that kind of thing. :\
Can I talk to (specific alter)?
Probably! But you may have to wait if they aren't currently near front. We do enjoy being individually acknowledged and spoken to since we are different people. :)
I see a lot of names I recognise in your fronter list. Is that blorbo from my shows?
Yes and no. We are quite fictive heavy (a lot of our alters have an identity taken from existing fictional media), but generally speaking they are not 1:1 copies and of course like any person they can grow over time and diverge even further from their source counterparts. We all would appreciate if you didn't treat them as fictional characters, they are real people with their own feelings, motivations and dreams!
Who is the core/original alter?
We don't know! And we don't particularly want to know. If we ever even had one haha. People put the concept of an "original alter" on such a pedestal as if that's who we should strive to be and to integrate into, but that's just not how it works for us.
Who are Cat and Shay?
Cat, Shay and a third OC (blue butterfly dragon) are our "collective" sonas. They represent us as a whole and the different "modes" people might see in us.
Cat represents our introverted and soft spoken alters. They just want to cuddle and mom on their friends.
Shay represents our more extroverted and bold alters. They represent the parts of us that are punk and sexual and unafraid to be.
The Dragon is less a representation of alters and more a representation of our journey. Of the magic we have in our head and of the path we wish to tread. They'll get a name eventually!

We've opened up Ko-Fi Memberships as a way of supporting us and our art! We chose it over Patreon and Subscribestar as they accept Stripe as a payment method which is already our preference, and Memberships would be less about paywalling content and more about giving back to the people who support us. In my opinion, Ko-Fi facillitates that best! And in that vein...
The major incentives for Membership are a discount on 1 commission each month, and the Digital Sticker Club!
Every month, I will create a new emote or sticker base and fill it for my £10 and up Members. Old bases will go on the store and lower tiers will also have free access to them as well.
Once we exceed the per-month goal, I'd really like to upgrade this to a physical sticker club! It's been a dream for a while to make physical merch so I really hope that can happen.

Personal Rambling
Posted 2 years agoSo I've been on this account for a long long time by now. It's kinda a dated reference to a piece of media that, while ingrained in my soul for plurality and hyperfixation reasons, I've largely moved on from. In fact, having this username has kind of caused grief in that friends and customers haven't known it's me since I use a different unified username everywhere else.
But also, this account holds a lot of history for me. I made this account when I was in a very bad point in my life, and to be honest for about 7 of the 10 years I've had it I've been in some kind of abusive and/or traumatic circumstance. Heck, even now I'm in a situation that causes me a great deal of distress.
This page has been my face when I've been abused by several partners, and been taken advantage of as a teenager. This page has been my face when I've been homeless, and when I was too dissociated to know my own name.
My life is moving on. Soon I'll be moving abroad to live with my soulmate and getting married. I'll be getting the mental health treatment I've needed for decades and the physical health treatment to help me not be in constant pain. My life moves on. I want to move on and away from the history here.
For now, I'm holding out hope for FA to implement a name change feature some day. I'm pretty resistant to needless change and I don't really want the hassle of migrating my followers and info to a fresh account. But if it comes down to it I may move my art and just keep this account for my staff purposes.
Anyway, that's my personal rambling for now. Not much to take away from this except that name changes can't come soon enough.

I want to draw and paint more dragons
Posted 2 years agoHoough. Okay so since we did that big dragon painting we have been ITCHING to draw and paint more dragons again, specifically feral dergs. Maybe some portraits, I dunno. Dragons are just good.
Not right now since we're kinda busy but maybe some time in the near future we may do a sale on them. We just wanna draw dragons.

So once again we found ourselves in the situation where we were putting way too much time and effort into our sketch commissions compared to the price point. We get in this cycle every so often where our sketches become unsustainable for their price point and this results in both lesser quality pieces and burnout on our part.
The two options were: increase the price of sketches to compensate for the added time OR adjust our workflow so that sketches are less taxing and time consuming. We went with the latter, as we'd rather still have an option at a more accessible price point. We've changed our workflow and aesthetic for sketches to make them easier on the wrists and clock, while hopefully still looking appealing.
Because of this change in aesthetic, we're offering 4 slots for sketches at a discount. 2 flat color, 2 shaded, all SFW (no pinups this time). These can be up to 3 characters, taurs are fine. By taking these slots, you agree that the piece can be posted publicly used as an example for future sketch commissions.
Flat color: 30GBP per character, 45GBP for taurs.

As the title suggests, we're looking for artists that we can collaborate with on future YCHs! Ideally we'd want to build a relationship with one or two artists for semi-regular YCHs, but we are open to one-offs as well. :3 We are happy to do any part of the workflow.
Qualities we'd be looking for:
- Style that would compliment ours (if you can imagine our linework and rendering working together it's probably good!)
- At least 1 overlapped interest (Pokémon, taurs, bondage, etc.)
- Willingness to work together on pricing and brainstorming
- Initiative in conversations & minimal small talk (sorry, I don't have the energy to shoot the breeze or carry discussions at the best of times)

We'd really like to hear some feedback for future YCHs, sales and such. Are there any themes or kinks you'd like to see, SFW or NSFW? Certain species or body types catered for? Do you prefer flat sales or auctions?
Some hard limits on kinks are: vore, foodplay, ageplay, dub and noncon, incest, and unsanitary themes like scat and watersports.
You do you, we have bad histories with these or don't have any desire to work on them. Please don't ask for them.
We'd really like to hear some feedback for future YCHs, sales and such. Are there any themes or kinks you'd like to see, SFW or NSFW? Certain species or body types catered for? Do you prefer flat sales or auctions?
Some hard limits on kinks are: vore, foodplay, ageplay, dub and noncon, incest, and unsanitary themes like scat and watersports.
You do you, we have bad histories with these or don't have any desire to work on them. Please don't ask for them.
Change to Accepted NSFW Commissions

We've been considering this for a while, and finally decided to make it official. We are no longer taking on explicit NSFW commissions, unless we're in the mood to offer them.
We've been experiencing serious burnout recently due to disability and that's made it very difficult to focus on work. Explicit sex scenes, generally speaking, are our least favorite topic to draw and this has proven to be a problem for working on NSFW commissions. We have a couple of explicit commissions still in progress and will finish those, but after that we'll only offer explicit art through journals, YCHs or sales.
That being said, we still have a big love for soft/mature NSFW like casual nudity, pin-ups, foreplay and some kinks like shibari, so for those it's business as usual. Same with general/SFW.

Move Complete - Thanks for the Help!
Posted 3 years agoWe're moved and safe in our new home - hopefully our last move until we leave the UK.
Thanks to everyone who helped us with moving costs through commissions and good will! It really helped everything go a lot smoother.
We'll need a few days to unpack and physically recover, then we'll be full speed ahead on art once again.
We'll also be launching a new type of commission - Live2D models - very soon. We've been teaching ourselves how to prepare, rig and animate Live2D models for VTubing and soon we would like to offer this rather cheaply so we can practise with more of a variety of styles and characters. :) I hope you'll look forward to that.

Small Sale for Moving Funds

We're being moved soon (not our choice - we live in supported housing and sometimes people get shuffled) and paying for packing supplies has eaten most of our funds for the rest of the month.
We are offering some discount commissions to help offset the cost as we've gone negative once this month already and don't want to risk that again.

Switching from Paypal to Stripe

With Paypal becoming increasingly unfriendly (awful UI, NSFW and SFW furry artists being shut down, awful fees), we've taken the plunge to switch to Stripe. They're adult-content friendly, simple to use (and harder to mess up) for both the seller and buyer, and most importantly they don't take upwards of 5-fucking-% of all my sales.
What does this mean for customers? Not much, really. You don't need a Stripe account to pay with them, we'll still be using email invoices, and payment is done directly by card (which I'm assuming is how most people pay anyway). I just wanted to give people a heads-up, and to encourage other sellers to switch if you're in a country eligible for a Stripe seller account.
