I'm sure some users here at FA remember that debate about the AUP and images made in Terragen. Back then they said Terragen is just moving sliders and pressing "Render" and you have your image. It's f#*king clear, that that is pure bullshit.

I've got some news for those who still think Terragen images is no art. Anyone seen the movie Sucker Punch? Well, Prime Focus, responsible for the CGI effects, have used Terragen 2 to create some of the scenes. The evidence can be found here, where Planetside tells a bit about and shows some pictures.

Anything new? Hmm... I got a new Router. Now the WLAN signal is way better than ever before, and I can use WPA2 finally. The old one just... well... old.

2009 went by quite fast, without any personal progress for me. Now, 2010 is knocking on the door. Another year with... whatever it will bring.

I didn't upload much this year. The reason is simple: whenever I make a render in Terragen 2, which can take a while when it should be good, and I do anything in the meantime, like browsing the Internet, the computer starts to beep when Firefox has to load a larger image. I have no idea why the computer is doing that, the temperatures are okay (both cores are at 100 % when Terragen is rendering -> normal). It always scares the hell out of me and it's annoying that I just can't find out the reason for this. I also tried another setting in the BIOS (CPU Warning Temperature: 70 °C, the CPU never gets warmer then 48 °C), but it didn't work. Everything else is working fine.

That's the reason why I haven't done anything in about a half year. And now that Terragen 2.1 is out it annoys me much more, because this new version is way better than the old one, with more possibilites. Shit! This is my f###ing luck!

And again... as every year at the end of october, the media (in TV especially) gets flooded with this pseudo-holiday called "Halloween". I never had a thing for this imported holiday and I never will. It came over here from the US someday at the end of 90'ies, because it's... uh... what is it anyway? Cool? Modern? Because Hollywood told it's cool to celebrate it around the world? No idea, really. But, for me, I know its true origin (celtic Ireland) seems to be forgotten or just ignored. Heh, yeah, why should the real matter being told if its commercial matter is much more important?

Oh, hate me for my opinion, I don't care anyway.

Many many weeks now... since the last time I touched Terragen 2. Damn!

BUT!  spino2006 brought me an idea. What can I say? Well... if you think this summer is hot, then... hehehe, this summer is nothing against this one. *g*

The new AUP is online and it seems the part "Fractal and landscape generated artwork may be uploaded, within reason, provided they do not violate the Flooding Policy" allows me to continue uploading my Terragen artworks. Well, that's how I interpret this.

For the hell's sake, make a decision, FA-Admins! And do it wisely...

For those who are interested in my vote in this poll, I voted for "Yes", fractals should be allowed at FA. Although, I don't really care for fractaly, I have this uncertain feeling that Terragen will be affected by this. Terragen is not a freaking generator! This counts - more than for 0.9 - for Terragen 2, where is much more possible, if you know what you do and how to do. There is no pre-generated stuff, unless you want it to. Yes, it is possible to actually draw in TG2, using the new "Painted Shader".
