Posted 17 years agoSurprise! This is not a post about my shiny new red hot hatred for the USA. And it's not about the professional level of FA administration team too. It's about games and retards.
Puzzle by puzzle, I'm playing Braid ( http://braid-game.com/ ) now (and by "now" I mean "these days" - I don't have too much spare time).
As with almost any other game at some point I went to IGN (there seems to be no russian reviews of Braid) just to compare the review with my own impression. The review was fine - the comments weren't.
For fuck's sake..
To make things clear: Braid costs 1200 MS points (that's about $15) while other XBLA games cost either 400 or 800 ($5 and $10 respectively, duh). And some people.. Well, a lot of people see it as another example of MS' infinite greed. Or they just don't have spare change. So they make (or at least try to convince themselves that they do) A Stance Against All That Is Evil.
Dear retards (I'm sure there are at least a few around).
This game is a piece of fine art - I know one when I know one. Not when I see one - sometimes things just aren't evident enough. And as prices for these things go, this one is low. Very low.
It doesn't matter that Braid lacks replayability. It doesn't matter that it's short. If you think that extra $5 will simply feed Steve Ballmer's gaping maw - just keep these thoughts to yourself. Shut the fuck up.

Posted 17 years agoY'know, I actually work with sites and databases and stuff. And I don't really see any good reason our glorious administrators couldn't write a replication engine for FA. So that there, like, wouldn't be any downtime. Any.

Art gifts
Posted 17 years agoWell, teh internetz r down in the old office, all the little and oh-not-so little thingies are packed and we are ready to move. So, while I'm sitting here and waiting for the pirate ghost zombie hordes to come and take me away, I might as well write about art gifts.
It is strange and somewhat annoying for me that almost everyone will eat practically everything that's related to their character (except, maybe, for messy orgies or scat - but I wouldn't bet on that). I don't know if it's the fear of hurting the artist, basic inability to evaluate the quality or just the respect for sacred ritual of accepting gifts. Anyway, unconditional flattery isn't a nice thing.
First, you lie to the artist. Lying is bad and makes your nose grow long and hard.
Second, you stop the artist from improving him(her)self. That's also probably bad, m'kay.
Of course there are cases of the gift being actually good, but that's oh-so-rare. There are also drawings that could be confused for bad because of art style. I'll write more on it later - the zombies are coming.

I mean, what's wrong with you, people? There's (almost) always only one picture that is at least remotely relevant and of acceptable (meaning "I probably won't vomit") quality. Of course, there ARE exceptions, but the general rule is like that!
C'mon, if you learned how to draw hyperinflated cockvore in MS Paint with your shaking half-paralyzed hand using a twenty year old brick-like mouse, could you please NOT upload it here? I don't really have a choice (drawing occasionally a boob or two myself) - it's not like there are any "don't show crappy art" checkboxes, only "i want to see mature art". The problem is that majority of those fetishes AREN'T mature, they are simply retarded and there are always people that'll gulp down every wiener thrown at them regardless of its form and "best before" date.

Posted 18 years agoSince I have bought this new Wacom tablet my art has experienced some improvement. That's nice. Still, there's a long winding road of perfection paved with yellow bricks ahead. I'll try.
But right now, it's Wild Arms 4, Odin Sphere and some other stuff waiting for me :)

Posted 18 years agoSo, I noticed that a new AUP is in effect on FA. What can I say? The authors are without doubt a bunch of hypocrites. I don't really know what kind of decency or political correctness laws you have in USA, but hey, here on FA you have all kinds of scat overloaded macro tentacle cock vore with rather badly drawn antropomorphic animals fucking each other in every imaginable way - and that's okay by you. Still, "derogatory remarks regarding philosophies, religion, sexuality, race, gender or association directed at another individual or group" are clearly not okay. Isn't "an association directed at another individual or group" a bit on the broad side?
