Hi there, and welcome.
I'm back. It's taken a while, but the new job is going great, I finally feel like I've moved into the apartment properly (now that I have internet), and I quite like Nottingham (the place with Robin Hood). Sadly no sign of sexy vixens to snatch away to Sherwood Forest yet.
I am not a natural artist; it takes me a heck of a long time to get sketches down on paper, and I cannot for the life of me seem to draw lineart on computer, even with my tablet. Colouring is a doddle compared to lineart, so I've started using the pen tool in Photoshop to stroke along paths. It smooths out my lineart, but boy does it take forever to path all the lines. I now have SAI to help with that, and I like it.
Commissions:
Commissions are currently CLOSED.
I work in digital media only, with the choice of either digitally inked black and white lineart, or a coloured piece with a simple, typically gradient filled background (see my gallery for examples). Various output formats can be provided upon request.
Apart from the reasons listed below, my main reason for not opening commissions is a lack of experience with the process. I don't know what sort of prices to charge, nor what sort of back and forth communication is involved between myself and a commissioner, nor how payment would be handled (I guess PayPal is logical). I may consider opening just the one spot if there is interest, to experiment with pricing, getting the picture info from a client, etc. Watch this space for changes in status.
Trades and Collaborations:
Drop me a line. I may consider trades and collabs, on the understanding that my art time is very sporadic and comes in bursts, potentially many months apart. I'm not the sort of professional who has an art queue and the self discipline to stick to schedules; I do things as and when they stir my interest, so I may or may not get around to drawing pictures. Collabs and Trades will help, since they'll motivate me into getting off my arse and doing something constructive. Maybe.
Suggestions:
I'm always on the lookout for that next bit of inspiration. But like everything else, please be aware that I have no schedule and will draw things as and when they appeal to me the most, so there is no guarantee when (or even if) I'll get around to a particular subject for a picture. Please don't be offended if your idea isn't immediately pounced upon.
