Gluttony: The Vore Card Game (G)
Gluttony is considered 1.0... ish. What the heck does that mean?
Gluttony, ish, and the side cards
We'll do the sappy stuff later. Right now, lets get the most important stuff out of the way. Why ish? Simply put, the game doesn't feel complete without all the art I wanted to put in it. But the game, on a mechanical side, is complete complete. I don't want to sit around waiting for art that may never come (mainly due to funds being low!). So, 1.0-ish. Lets get the game to people already. Side cards are both experimental preds (things that are not actually considered balanced), and the first stuff pack that I will be working on fully: the Beta Stuffers. This is a pack made as a thank you for those people all those years ago. They've been waiting a long time, I'll try not to disappoint them. They are also not quite balanced, but that's not the point of them. The point is that they get to be them, and them and their friends can enjoy that.
The future, and how you can be a part of it
Gluttony being out doesn't mean I'm done. I'm going to keep working on it as I am already eager to start an expansion that I've kept off for a long while. Yes, expansion! But also, stuff packs. I never came up with a good name for them, so throw some my way I guess. If you want to be a part of Gluttony, its finally going to be your time. I'll be making side packs that is filled to the brim with new characters, new accessories, and new playable apexes for you to enjoy, though at a price. These prices are still rough, as its hard to figure the true value of any of these things. But simply put:
Guest card - 50$
Accessory card (reskin) - 50$
Apex card (reskin) - 100$
Event Card/Accessory Card (new) - 150$
Apex card (new) - 250$
Wow, that looks expensive! And it is. New cards are not easy to make and fit into Gluttony. This does not include artwork either. Creation is difficult. Please use an artist already in the credits for your card art for the smoothest experience (I already got their permission to use their art for this game). If you demand to have art of a different artist, we'll hash it out.
A roadmap of sorts
Okay okay, but the future, what to expect, ect. Gluttony is no where near done. In fact, we're finally at the proper start line I wanted. From here, you can expect:
Stuff Packs - Beta Stuffers, Kealldin's Pack, Eek - Bugs!, Fatty Fantasies, and more...
Expansions - While there are several expansions in the mix, the first main one will be Pool Party! We will introduce a new type (aquatics) to the game, and feature a brand new feature: The pool. Yes, this has been sitting in my head for a while! Note that this is all I can give, but rest assured, there's plenty more where that came from. After all, where are the dinos? Or the demis/humans? Or heck, why no plushie preds? Don't worry, we'll get there!
The Sappy Stuff
If you aren't here for emotions, you're good. Head on out. This is where I talk a bit about Gluttony and its impact on me.
So. How many years? 8? 9? I started this little idea of mine in an apartment in Iowa with a pen and a stack of index cards. I still have those, even if I've lost how to play that old version. I keep them tucked away somewhere to remind me of the distance I've traveled. I'm living back at home, caring for my mom, after my father passed away from cancer several years ago. Its weird how through all this time, Gluttony has kind of been a thing for me to return to. It was on and off so much. I ran out of steam. Then I regained my passion. Then it dropped off somewhere. To be honest, this game should have been our 3 to 4 years ago. But the fact its out... Hmm. There's not a relief to it. But there is a certain... giddiness. I can't believe I completed something for once in my life. And I can honestly point to it and say 'hey, I made that'. And, to be honest? Its one of the very few things I feel... kinda proud of saying. Of course I'll have people trash the game. That's going to happen. But, I'm glad that I managed to slowly work through so much crap to finally have a game I personally like playing too, and watching others play.
Its been a delight to have people stick around throughout my development. I've seen my card game birth an entire community across the pond. I've seen it bring comfort to those that were mourning our friend MiniMike, may he continue to rest among the stars. And I've seen so many friendships form and dissolve and shift in all that time, its hard to say who remembers my silly little card game all those years ago.
But hey, this isn't the end. I'm finally at the start line that I wanted to be. Now the fun can really begin! I'm so excited to make stuff packs, get people's sonas in, work on expansions, and see a community hopefully solidify. Its a little terrifying, but I'm so eager. What's my goal outside of this? Easy, I want to get Gluttony made into a physical box! I've been offered help in the past, but I want to find a furry printer for it. And art. Art is expensive. But that's the next big milestone for me on this never ending run with this game!
But with that said... I hope you all have fun with the game. Seriously. I'm thankful for everything everyone has given throughout its development. I can't wait to hear about some people's experience with it, and I hope I can fix the issues that rise up quickly enough. Stay gluttonous everyone.
