Hi! I'm Canith. I'm a writer, a fursuiter, and occasionally I do art as well. My main series, Project Tiamat, started on Sofurry (https://canith.sofurry.com/), but I ported it over here as well. Comments are appreciated in both places, but most are put over there.
To quote my bio over there:
"Too smart for his own good, and barely enough sense to keep his muzzle shut when it matters. Fascinated in equal parts with the technological and arcane, he seeks knowledge as the treasure it truly is. He doesn't hoard it though- knowledge hoarded is knowledge halved, and knowledge shared is doubled!"

Tiamat Book 1 comming to a close
Normally, I would be posting a journal like this to delay a chapter, but luckily today that is not the case. As I finished this most recent chapter (which I will be posting tomorrow!) I was informed by my informal sounding board that I should really think about wrapping this up as a book. I laughed at it, until they informed me that they were serious. So I did some math.
According to wikipedia, the average word count for a mystery novel is between the 60,000 and 80,000 word range, whith thrillers well exceeding 100,000. As they do not say 150 or 200,000, lets put that at 120,000 to be safe.
Mine, after fudging the numbers a bit, clocks in with the next chapter to be around 124,000 already. (I accidentally closed out the calculator around 114,000, so I just started from there) And I have 2 more chapters planned.
Sooooo . . . I think they might be on to something.
What this means content wise is I will start filing the next chapters under a new folder, there is going to be a 1 year timeskip, and well, that's about it.
However, as some have probably noticed, the crew will be getting quite a bit larger with this new ship, thus more characters (and even perhaps species) will be added as well. As I don't have a set in stone roster, I would tenatively accept suggestions of characters/species that might be added in. Kind of like having kameos. I mean, the crew size for the new ship alone will be in the ballpark of 750+, and it's unreasonable to try to come up with that many myself, let alone try to fit them all into chapters. The old Tia' only had 50 crew members, and not all of them got air time. These you can leave in the comments! I wouldn't want anyone to feel like they were suggesting something silly, yet someone else felt the same.
If you are interested in having an actual kameo, hit me up in a PM. I actually have a system somewhat in place for generating abilites and what-not, so if said character is not unique (as in they have pre-existing abilites(My 'sona has shapeshifting by default, eastern dragon things) we could even come up with some abilities there!
But regardless of your choices, I do plan on continuing the story. So I will 'see' everyone tomorrow with the next installment!
