A Proper Farewell
9 Months... That's how long it's been since my last journal. I also almost spit water all over my monitor when I saw that I had 267 messages. But I digress.
I am here to properly say goodbye to PCA. My disappearance was due to wavering interests and a feeling of not belonging. I felt like a 5th wheel, so to speak. I'm a writer, not an artist. I could tell from the minute I joined that this place wasn't the best for me. What caused me to stay?
Perhaps it was the community. The people who would talk in the IRC and such. Despite the fact I mostly lurked in the IRC, I felt like I was getting to know everyone better. Their antics and conversations were interesting and I felt like I wanted to know them all better. But, unfortunately, I was incredibly shy. Since my leave, I have changed. I am more outgoing, I ask more questions, and am a more talkative person. But I still know for sure that some one will see this message and remember "Chief Rampancy, that guy who lurked in the IRC. Friendly guy, but shy so I didn't know him all too well."
I have moved on. My writing has improved nearly tenfold. Along with the cast of characters. The universe is ever-expanding, and I lost sleep a couple weeks ago because I was thinking so much about my writing. I take my writing and related series (since it's a crossover) very seriously. My friend doubts me when I say I have research to do now.
I suppose this is also the time that I spill the beans on my characters, eh? Like where the inspiration for each of them came from.
Zach Cirur is based on Ezwa 'Ciruree, a character from my writing. He was a mere side-character before, but has escalated to a major main character. He was recently married. But we'll get back to that.
John Remmus (which if you haven't noticed is simply "summer" backwards) is based loosely on John Avalon, a friend of Ezwa. He was also a side character who became a major character. His history is too complex to get into right now. Sorry.
Mira Lagirdam (which is "Madrigal" backwards (as you can tell, my naming creativeness wasn't at it's best.)) was actually an original character. For a while. Slowly, her character was melded into Naec 'Uofadee, a childhood friend of Ezwa. Ezwa and Naec were recently married.
May Volare was based off of May (simply that), an Artificial Intelligence that was good friends with John. In-universe, May was killed by Ezwa.
There was also Team something-that-I-can't-remember-off-the-top-off-my-head. They will forever remain a mystery.
I wonder if anyone will get this message. Over the next couple days, I will start attempting to remove all traces of myself. I know it can't be done completely, but I need to leave this place to move on. Otherwise I'll feel like I left something unfinished. And I can't bear the feeling of leaving something unfinished. I hate it.
This has been the Chief Overseer of Rampant Forces. And this is my swan song. It's been nice knowing you, and I can sleep better now that I know this whole thing was cleared up. I might drop by the IRC if I have enough free time. But who knows.
That's everything for now. And so...
It was fun. But my future wasn't here, and I knew it. Sorry for causing everyone trouble.
Sayonara.
