Liné has a problem. (G)
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I have two fursonas: Coco and Liné.
Coco is the older of the two and has gone through quite a few redesign phases in the past. Now, I really like Coco!
But when it comes to Liné, for the past few months I’ve been having trouble drawing her, as if I see less of myself in her.
I tried changing various design elements to make her look more like me, adjusting the length of her hair, making her pattern more intricate or simplifying it, tweaking her colors to make them look more natural, but nothing worked.
I recently thought I was satisfied enough with her design to make a refsheet, but in the end, even while drawing her in the refsheet, I wasn’t satisfied. I closed my eyes and tried to ignore it, but it didn’t last long.
So I tried to go back to the basics of its design, to its essence, but that only left me even more confused. Did I choose the wrong pattern? The wrong color? The wrong kind of fursona? I questioned absolutely everything. In the end, I didn’t even know what a fursona was anymore, or even who I was.
Thanks to my boyfriend and my friends, I was able to get back on track with my self-reflection. To start over from scratch. I had to get to know myself all over again, define who I am, but this time, on my own terms.
So I was able to redefine my favorite animal, my favorite colors, and even figure out what Liné meant to me.
Liné is my fursona; she is me. I care deeply about her, and I want her to always represent who I am. But I’ve changed , I’m no longer the young adult who’s just come out of a toxic relationship (yeah Liné was representing that in a way), and I’m no longer the girl who loves pink and yadiyada . I know who I am. I’m more confident about myself, I know my strengths and weaknesses.
I know this will come as a shock to you, I know you loved Liné just as much as I did. But I think it’s better that Liné reflects who I am, even if you prefer the old design.
I want to thank everyone who drew her in her old design. Don’t worry, I’m keeping your illustrations safe, and I thank you for bringing her to life!
Liné will always be a fox, they’re still my favorite animals, along with cats! Her design will change slightly, but the main features will stay the same! Her color palette is also quite different, inspired by a specific breed of fox!
She’ll keep her round glasses, blue-green eyes, and shoulder-length hair!
Soon, I'll post drawing of her new design ! Hope you'll enjoy her
