This FA group is for those of us who prefer to do a bit more than what console developers allow us to do out of the box. Play legal backups of games we own ((So when they get to scratched to read, we don't have to purchase new copies)) play our own user created, applications, emulators, pretty much anything we want :3
Note: Console modding does NOT equal piracy. It allows it, but isn't always used for that purpose.
Anyways, feel free to join this group if you have any modded consoles, or are curious as to how to have yours modded ^^

It's official. ALL current gen consoles have been hacked.
From the Nintendo DS to the PS3. All current gen consoles have now been modded to play things ranging from emulators to backup managers (and I mean backups not 'backups')
Ironically, the PS3 is the easiest to mod if you haven't updated past 3.55. It's litterally as simple as copying an update to a USB stick and updating like normal. I say ironic because the PS3 uses insanely strong security. In fact the only way they were able to hack it was to get the encrypted signing keys. Because without that there was no way at all to run unauthorized software.
They could have used those keys to sign each individual software package. But they decided it would be easier to sign a firmware update that's been coded to essentially ignore signature checking. So now both signed and unsigned software can be run.
That is...IF you haven't updated past 3.55.
