There's a wave of scam going on recently among my friends. I believe they target smaller artists, but no one's safe from the villains.
To anyone who doesn't yet know what's the deal: Scammer is fishing for YCH sold outs, quickly finds the buyer's Discord if there is one and sends them a friend request. Of course their Discord pfp and nickname is impersonating the artist. Sometimes it's Telegram too.

I don't have any secondary accounts and never use other people to communicate with clients, also I NEVER add anyone on Discord myself and always sending a note on Furaffinity or message on Twitter/X asking YOU to add my Discord username to friends. This way you could be sure you'll communicate to me and only to me. I recommend everyone to do the same. Contact the artist on their verified official FA / X / BlueSky accounts and only ask for their verified username, don't accept any friend request on Discord or in Telegram unless the artist confirmed this action using the account you got the YCH or commission slots from. Also I highly recommend you to hide your Discord and Telegram nicknames from your Furaffinity page or anywhere else. Always share it with people you want it to be shared with. And be careful and mindful, especially when there's money requests involved, check things twice, please.
Also, even if you get a message from the verified social media account, it could also be hacked, so check twice WHERE you send the money. In 98% of time I'll use Boosty to accept payment and sometimes Hipolink, so be careful with that too

Again - I only share my Discord with the client using notes on FA or message on Twitter/X. I don't use Telegram for work with a very few rare exceptions, but same logic applies here - you'll get my Telegram nickname through the verified social media.
