Your Exclusive Content Pirated (and How to Fix it on 70-80%) (G)
Hey, if you’re frustrated that your paid content ends up on Kemono.cr, Telegram channels and public archives - read this. I promise it will make sense.
Most “pirates” aren’t trying to hurt you. The real reason it’s happening: A huge chunk of people who leak your exclusives used to be paying subscribers. Especially Russian-speaking fans. Since 2022 Russia has been cut off from SWIFT, PayPal, Stripe, and foreign Visa/Mastercard. A lot of them literally cannot pay on Patreon anymore, even if they want to. The remaining options are shady middlemen who often scam them right before renewal. So instead of subscribing, they go to free archives. It’s not because they’re “evil” - it’s because the payment system broke.
What actually works in 2026 (3 methods that thousands of Western creators are using):
1 Add a Boosty page - the best (and easiest) bridge to Russian fans.
This is currently the #1 solution for Western creators.Boosty is the Russian Patreon. Russians pay easily with local cards and methods.
You register in 2 minutes, duplicate your exclusives there, and get paid normally (PayPal, bank transfer, Wise - whatever you use).
Set regional pricing: for Russia/CIS you can charge 2–3× cheaper than on your main platform (without lowering prices for US/EU fans).
*Many Patreon's creators who added Boosty in 2025-2026 brought back (or even increased) their Russian revenue. It literally turns pirates back into paying subscribers.
2 Use delayed public release.
Keep new exclusives locked for paying subscribers for 2–4 weeks (while they make you the most money), then release them publicly with a clear note:
“This post will become free on March 15th.”
Fans who can’t pay right now will wait for the legal version instead of rushing to archives. Piracy drops a lot.
3 Stop fighting pirates the wrong way.
Full-screen watermarks, heavy blurring, mass DMCA strikes - these things only annoy your most loyal (and previously paying) Russian fans.
Ironically, many leaks come from them because they got burned by payment middlemen.
Bonus reality check
Some creators noticed that leaks actually bring new people to their Boosty page. They try the content for free, like your style, and then subscribe legally.
Free marketing.
In 2026 piracy isn’t really “theft” anymore - it’s a payment accessibility problem.
Fix the payment issue with Boosty + delayed releases and most leaks will disappear. Try adding Boosty for just one month. 90% of creators who did it said the same thing: “I wish I’d started earlier.”
