Birb posting done / Zombie DJ project update
3 weeks ago
As usual, today got off to a later start than I wanted it to. Life is like a pitching machine, and I'm always doing my best to avoid the curveballs that get lobbed my way. Regardless, something always seems to come up, no matter what I'm doing and no matter what my plans are.
Either way, I did manage to get some more lovely art posts uploaded, and I'm glad for that. Still got quite a bit of backlog to go, but I gotta deal with it one tile at a time. I was reluctant to upload a few of the pieces to my gallery, but I'm still glad I did that, too. I haven't seen them in a long time, but I still think about them and I still miss them.
So, now that THAT'S out of the way, I'd like to address some of the projects I've been tinkering with this past year.
Despite my lack of story uploads, I AM still writing. Just...a lot less frequently than before, due to increasingly stressful work issues and other personal matters.
Of my numerous little projects, I'm trying to work on some amateur radio broadcast scripts for a character of mine set in a post-apoc zombie survival setting. Many of them are going fairly well, but one of my major holdups is something I'd planned on doing with some volunteers: interviews. Basically, the character in question is a radio DJ, and given his current situation (dealing with zeds, raiders, etc), doing live interviews is incredibly risky. However, I thought it would be neat if he did some anyways, and it seemed like an interesting experiment to get some opinions and feedback from those who (in the setting) had survived the initial outbreak, and to kinda paint more of the world/setting for the audience.
The issue, however, is that I really wanted to do these interviews with actual people. Sure, I could technically write up my own NPCs and say the things I want them to say, but I feel like there's something more interesting about not knowing what will be said by the folks I'm interviewing, and that it'd feel more organic, in a sense.
But I haven't really had any volunteers to help me with my project yet. So if you're interested, or you know someone who might be, lemme know. The "rules" are relatively simple. It'll all be in character, but from that of a regular human (no Hollywood action heroes, please). You can go with almost any kind of past career you want, and almost any kind of personality that you want, provided it stays generally along the PG-13 scale at most. Your character can lie if they want, but know that my DJ may grill them on said lies. Ideally, I'd like to go with something more realistic and a bit down to earth, but I'm not against interviewing UFO chasers, conspiracy theory guys, and generally fun loonies, too. The lore we'd work with is that of 7DtD (if you know, you know), but I'm willing to be a bit flexible on that, depending on the discussion.
Feel free to drop a comment in here if you wanna help out, and we can go from there.
As for some of my other projects, I still have my fantasy air force story, my Pokemon OC origin stories and misadventures, the various nature expeditions with Claude, Noel's college romance saga, and several others. I'd also like to get back to my old amateur novel someday, once I get the right mood to rework it, and perhaps even expand on the tales of my old fox samurai, but those are very big and far off projects at the moment...
Still, if anyone is interested in any of those, feel free to ask about 'em in the comments. I miss being able to engage with the folks still watching me for more than just my art sprees. X3
