I should start knocking on wood before I post my art. Just so see how many hits I get.

Switching Over: Journey on the Median (G)
With all due respect, I thought that I could get by on the art programs that I did. Before I got a computer, I used an Autodesk subscription to dabble in some art. I basically forced myself to draw with finger on a touch screen. And funny part about my push was that I kept thinking to myself that regardless of the way I draw, I could get somewhat decent art. But because I had no pressure sensitivity, they remained indecent, so to say.
Thanks to a friend, who I probably mentioned before, I managed to get a Wacom tablet and I honestly think my drawing skills took off. Before, I could get nice outlines with mechanical pencil, and now, the stylus is really stepping up my game.
Now to my current situation; Corel had some bugs, and normally I was fine with it. Not that I'm ranting or even whining about it, but I really needed to either dig into the program to get what I wanted, or switch over. Over and over on Reddit I see people suggest Krita as the go-to free drawing software. Maybe I'm one to get discouraged easily, but after all switching over to a new application was harder than I expected! The normal functionality the tablet had didn't work, so my habits would have to change accordingly.
And tonight, I'm glad I was able to push through the learning curve and get something of a intermediate work of art. Overall, I still have a long way to go until my quality is like the best that I admire. That being said, I guess the point of this journal is that changes come often, and sometimes where people change too easily, changing little is also a bad habit. So, where's the good middle?
So with someone like myself who is self-teaching about drawing and trying to refine my skills, I have to conclude the journey on the median is nothing close to a median effort.
