Before you consider commissioning me, you are advised and required to read and accept my terms of service below. Please carefully read everything.
When you ask me to commission you, you are certifying that you have read and understood these terms, and agreed to abide by them.General Information
🐾 COPYRIGHT 🐾
I retain the full rights to the image produced, including the rights to display it for public viewing and the right to reproduce and use the art as I see fit (portfolio usage, promotion, etc.).
Unless otherwise agreed upon, the commissioned artwork may only be used for your personal usage. Clients retain rights to the characters they created, however this does not allow them rights to the commissioned image.
Please feel free to do and perform the following with personal commissions you buy from me:
● Resize and/or crop the art, and use it for icons, signatures, personal website/webpage layouts or wallpapers for your desktop. Other edits are fine as long as there are no alterations to the art itself (for example, it is okay to add a colored overlay layer or reduce the opacity, but you cannot modify the lines or recolor the image entirely).
● Make a print of the image as long as it is for personal use and not for profit or redistribution.
● Post the commission to your personal websites, webpages or galleries, however credit is required (a link back would be sincerely and greatly appreciated, too). Furthermore, I do ask that you use a web-friendly copy, not the high resolution file. If you need to use the commission for something else (or otherwise not mentioned), speak with me and I will let you know if I approve of your intentions.
[Also, the transaction is solely between me and a single client (the person who pays for the art). If the art was specifically bought to be gifted to a third party, then the person who receives the artwork has permission to use it for the three points listed above as well. Anyone else cannot use the commission without my personal consent.]Personal commissions cannot be used for any of the following:
● Making prints of the artwork for selling, redistribution, or promotional purposes.
● Book illustrations or covers, games, ads or any other published works without expressed written permission, whether you make a profit or not.
● Layouts or graphics of commercial/promotional websites.
● Adoptables and auctions.
The creation of OCs (Originals Characters) is not included in commission prices, therefore if you request artwork of a random character instead of an OC, the random character you requested and its design will be fully owned by me and it may not be re-used unless otherwise negotiated.
I also reserve the rights to all redesigns (outfits, hairstyles, weapons, etc.) of characters within commissions (i.e. anything that you neither created nor included in your original reference images, as redesigns are not automatically included in commission prices either). I, however, do give commissioners permission to reuse redesigns, as long as it is for personal usage only. Any form of commercial usage is not allowed or tolerated.
Overall, image rights (commercial exploitation, reproduction, printing, redistribution, editing, etc.) can be negotiated on a case-by-case basis. In that case, the commission will fall under professional commissions, with significant higher rates. Any desired rights need to be specified and discussed prior to the acceptance of the commission and a signed contract will be required. I will retain all rights not negotiated and/or paid for.
🐾 PAYMENT AND CONTACT 🐾
Payment must be made in full via PayPal and at least in pending before I start any work. I will let you know my Paypal address once we agree on the commission specifics and amount.
I will also require you to provide me with your full name and address. Although I do not consider myself as a professional artist, I would like to keep my business and services professional by keeping a proper invoice for my sales.
When your commissioned product is completed, I will send you a preview of the image with an unofficial watermark (along with my personal watermark that I include in all of my works). If you are completely satisfied with the result, I will send you a full resolution file and a web/screen-friendly file without the watermark (excluding my own personal watermark that I include in all of my works) as soon as your payment is no longer pending, and is completed and received.
Regarding contact, please contact me either through notes, messages via my Facebook Page, iRaynebow Studios, or submitting a message via my website.
🐾 REVISIONS AND REFUNDS 🐾
It is the client's responsibility to provide all necessary information. You are also able to ask for small changes in the final product if it is necessary. However, if you ask for excessive changes, I may charge extra for them.
[It is uncommon for me to forget something and if I do, it is usually something minor. In the event that I forgot or neglected a minor detail, I will contently oblige to make that minor change without additional charges.]For colored sketch/experimental art, revisions are not factored into the price. Consider them as 'wing-it' commissions.
Regarding refunds, if the client chooses to cancel the commission after preliminary works (sketch/rough) have started, I will refund 50% of the commission (for full upfront payment). It is a professional way for me to express that I have spent considerable time, energy, and effort to completing your requested commission, and therefore I deserve some amount of payment for spending my valuable time on your requested product.
In the event that I am unable to complete your commission due to "in-real-life" circumstances or personal reasons, I will refund your payment fully and notify you at once.
🐾 DOs and DON'Ts 🐾
Browsing my gallery, it could probably tell you that I tend to specialize in feral animals (including bipedals) and character design. I am open to draw most genres and types of characters, though, as it is an opportunity for me to learn new things, expand my abilities, and grow as an artist. That said, please be realistic with your expectations for I am probably not going to be the right artist if you want things like heavy machinery, very complex perspective and backgrounds, super-buff characters, certain style emulations, and the like.
I will not draw porn, yiff, or anything overtly sexual.
Commissions involving the following subject matters will be taken seriously on a case-by-case basis:
● Anthropomorphism
● Nudity
● Violence/Gore
● Fan art
● Real people
In any case, I reserve the right to decline any commission and refuse service under any circumstance without providing a reason. In the event that I do so, I will refund your money in full promptly and properly if you have already paid.
Order Process
First contact me with your commission details to ask for a slot:
● Please try to provide a clear, itemized text description.
● I can work from text only in most cases, but I recommend having at least one reference picture.
● If you don't have previous art of your character, a small collection of pictures (drawings or photos) to help me depict the character, pose, outfit, etc. is perfectly fine, too.
Once I have an idea of what you want and after payment is full and at least in pending, your slot will be secured and I'll add you to my worklist.
You may request a rough sketch or a WIP (work in progress) of your product if you wish. I'll only offer to do small changes so be sure to provide all information beforehand.
[Exception: Experimental art does not have a rough stage, I may provide a rough (or a WIP) at my own discretion.]When your picture is completed, I'll send two copies of it to you (one at full resolution and a web/screen-friendly file). Files are usually in .PNG format.
Commission Categories and Rates
You will find here the types of commissions I usually offer. If you'd like something not listed here, feel free to ask for a quote.
The prices listed are for digital art featuring a single character and for personal commissions only. I usually charge a flat rate, but price may be adjusted according to complexity or size.
For multiple characters, I will charge according to art type and body shot. Small pets or props are free of charge, unless there are a lot of them or they have complex designs.
Thank you and with the highest regards,
Destinee Gray (iRaynebow)
