Hi, I’m Blaze.
I’m an anthropomorphic wolf dog hybrid, born in Lisbon on 11 February 1993 at 10:26 in the morning. I stand at 185 centimetres tall and, well… I’m slightly on the chubby side — in the comfortable, fully intentional way.
I’m a neuroscientist by passion, a science educator by purpose, and somewhere along the way, I became a communicator, not by volume but by clarity. I love the brain: how it works, how it fails, how it tries to make sense of the world and sometimes ends up rewriting it altogether. That’s why my personal motto is:
“The brain doesn’t lie, but it does make things up.”
It sums me up, really. I believe deeply in knowledge, but also in perspective, that understanding why we see the world the way we do is just as important as the facts themselves.
I’m curious by default. I ask a lot of questions. And not just the scientific kind, though yes, I do keep a lab notebook, a pile of sketchpads, and a semi shameful number of open tabs at any given time. I also wonder about people. Why they feel the way they do. What makes something meaningful. How we stay kind while staying honest.
I like quiet spaces. Deep chats. Wordplay. I can’t help myself with puns — I know they’re groan worthy, but they’re also little puzzles, and my brain loves puzzles. I’d rather be sincere than flashy, and I’ll always pick presence over performance.
Astrologically (yes, I know, science and stars, but I contain multitudes), I’m an Aquarian with Aries rising and a Gemini moon. So if I sometimes bounce between ideas or change topics halfway through a sentence, blame the sky. But I always circle back.
My identity isn’t something I plaster around, but I’ll say this: I use he/him pronouns, and I believe selfhood is layered. We’re all in progress, and that’s not a flaw. That’s the work. That’s the beauty.
You’ll usually find me where things are being figured out, labs, libraries, long walks, late night writing sessions. Places where thinking and feeling coexist. I don’t try to impress. But I do try to understand. And if I can help someone see something a little clearer, or feel a little more understood, that’s more than enough.
Thanks for being curious about me. I’m still figuring myself out too.

Work decided to put me on the naughty list this month.
Sorry for being quieter than usual.
Less time to post, but I will be back properly once things calm down.
Appreciate the patience and the love.
