I’m a couple weeks late with this, but as of February 17th, 2026, Skyler & River’s Planetary Health Inspectors, the animated short that was conceived in 2019 and which I’ve been working on largely by myself since 2022, is finished!

We held two screenings for friends and family over Zoom on the 17th and 18th, just hours after all of the animation and editing was finished, and we’ve already submitted it to several film festivals, including Ottawa International. Since it’s on the festival circuit, it’ll be a while before it’s available to watch online, but a trailer should be coming soon.

I’m incredibly proud of how it came out, and of the work of both me and my collaborators, but also so happy to not have the completion of this one project consume all of my free time any more (plus, I can finally get rid of Adobe Animate). It’s something I’m still kind of getting used to. As of this writing, I’m finishing up a little vacation I’ve taken in upstate New York and anticipating my return to civilian life tomorrow, where other, MUCH smaller projects are waiting for me.
