So earlier Sam and I were talking about what we would want our wedding to be like, if we ever got married. She wants pink roses. I want orchids. She wants a huge wedding. I want the smallest possible shin-dig I can get away with. Anyways, then Sam went off on a happy tangent about what song she is going to play for the father daughter dance they often have at weddings. She's had her song, don't remember what it was, picked out for years now, and she was so baffled when I told her I have no clue what my song would be, and said I wouldn't be playing one any way. She got all uppity about how stupid, and I quote "disgraceful" that is to my dad.

'Scuse me?
My wedding, my way. Not yours.
"You should have one anyways, It'll be fun!!" she says. Actually, it would be a cruel joke. And I tell her this. And who the hell would I dance with?!
She says his dad. Ok, sure. If I'm super super close with my potential father-in-law, and we see each on a regular bases, and we go on long fishing trips just to spend quality time together, and he is practically my true blue replacement. But ya know, what are the odds that would happen? And I'm sorry, IT'S NOT THE SAME. There will be ample amounts of time to dance around with the guy, so why should I set aside that one important song for him?

Then her mind goes else where.
*gasp*!!!! "Then who will walk you down the isle"?
"My mom"
".....really? That's kinda weird. Cause 'his' mom is suppose to walk him"
"Sam.... I'm going for a walk"

So by this point in time I'm feeling pretty shitty. My throat is lumpy and and I'm a little mad. I try thinking of what song I would play if I had to, an I honestly have no clue. I think I don't have one cause I don't need one. It's not important right now. What is important is that I love my dad.

My father is my hero. I can't think of a time when he wasn't.
Dad. You gave me all the room I could ever ask for to spread my wings, and even lifted me up on the days I was feeling too down to fly. Was there ever a father daughter pair that had more inside joked growing up? You gave me your morals, love for sports, sense of humor, you long fuse, your eyes, and my greatest asset; your optimism. I couldn't have asked for a better man to be my father. Thanks for watching out for me and never stopping the love.
