Hopefully gonna be more active soon on my Weasyl account!
in a world of mostly dogs, of course I had to be only slightly hipster and go for monster dog
(though the base design for this warg character is pretty much a big brown fluffier malamute, with fangs & a big, red, heart-shaped nose)
known just as Warg elsewhere, and I pretty much came up with that name while brainstorming by imagining myself screaming "WAAAAAAAAARGH" -- and pretty much took it from there
[a love of monsters helped significantly on that front]
I'm a jack-of-all-trades sort, having dabbled in music, sketching & coloring, fursuit building & performance -- though I'd certainly say I enjoy the fursuiting aspects the most (and have the most experience with): for me, it's the most interactive, the most surreal, and generally the most awesome. Bonus points if it ends up being entertaining, uplifting, or even comforting (like with hugs) for spectators, too.
I have two primary fursuit characters right now, Diago (since 2008, but finally named in 2013) and Luno (since 2007), and I'm going to be getting started on Berto (my av/fursona) here pretty soon!
I also do have current cosplay of an Orc King from Dragon Quest (first presented at Nan Desu Kan 2013), though I hope to significantly polish him up at some point. My goal for Nan Desu Kan 2015 is an Archdemon, also from Dragon Quest. (The character is essentially a mix between a cow and a dragon.)
Bear with me here, as it may take me a while to upload some examples of stuff I've done. [And, er, I should also figure out how I want to make this information look neater.]
----
I also enjoy exploring languages!
Eu desejo e preciso praticar tá idioma, então eu vou deixar comentos onde eu possa.
I also took a semester of Japanese in college, but beyond reading basic words/kanji and katakana, I rely heavily on Wiktionary to help me understand sentences, and can't really speak/write much on my own yet. Like here: 日本語ちょっと話します。 数年前、私は日本語のクラスに入学した。 今日は、Wiktionaryと漢字に変換します。 エラーが、私を謝罪します!
I can understand a bit of other Latin-based languages (some French, Italian, etc.), and I hope to learn how to speak & write them, too!
----
If I fave a piece of yours, or if I watch you, just a note that I'd generally prefer not to get simple "thanks for the fave/watch" shouts!
Believe me, I do appreciate the gesture, and I won't delete those I receive -- but after seeing other shout boards that are full of similar comments, I should say that I'd like to keep my shout board more conversational.
Also hey, I try to be fairly conscientious, but if you believe I've said or done something uncool toward a disadvantaged group or a member thereof, please do feel free to let me know! It's always a learning experience, you know?
Basically, as far as principles go, I recognize that "freedom of speech" also does include the freedom to criticize & be criticized, and it'd be awesome if other folks would recognize that too.
[Posting this after seeing here a few too many "political correctness run amuck" posts or "i don't care who I offend!" statements (the latter which really only works when you're hitting upwards), etc.]

Hey y'all!
So, really quickly, I just wanted to let y'all know that I'll be at Animeland Wasabi for at least this Saturday! Not necessarily for the con itself, but I did have loads of fun being rowdy with a bunch of other fursuiters last year -- so even if this year is gonna be at a significantly smaller hotel, hopefully I'll be able to have fun in a big group again! [I pre-reg'd for the weekend, and I might stop by other times since it's close by -- but otherwise Saturday is really gonna be the main day.]
I'll be getting there hopefully some time between 4:00 & 5:00 PM, due to work earlier in the day. At that time -- well, hopefully I'll be able to find parking; I know we AW attendees collectively tend to pack any place, no matter the size of the hotel. I'll probably pick up dinner and eat it at the hotel, walk around out of suit for a while, saying hi to cosplayer friends and the like, locate other suiters, and then I'll be getting into suit myself! [Still deciding who to suit as.]
Also, regarding Paws at Pearl on Saturday, March 7 -- I was planning on making it, but it turns out that my work is gonna need me that day. I'm gonna see if my boss would be okay with me only working until 11:00 AM, so that I can be there by noon -- but, no guarantee on that. If I can't make it for the suiting portion, then I'll at least try seeing if I can join up for post-suiting hangouts.
[I know Kodywulf has set up a backup date of 3/21 in case of inclement weather, but sadly I know I'll be working a full day then!]
[For anyone who has yet to see the Meetup listing, you can find it here!]
[ UPDATE 2015.2.26: Got the okay from my boss, and so I'll be there! ]
And, I'm finally starting to get a bit more active on my Weasyl account! I, uh, finally uploaded to Weasyl the single photo I've had on FA. [I really should upload more.]
I'm trying to figure out the best way to do this; I think I might upload thumbnails to here, and full pics to there, to get more traffic there, but also to not have to deal with the 1280x1280 restriction. For journal entries though, I think I might crosspost them -- though, lemme tell you, it'd be nice to have more than 60 characters available for a journal title like FA provides.
But yeah, here's where I'm at on Weasyl!
Oh, and one more thing! I think a lot of people watching already know, but in case anyone doesn't -- due to the sudden announcement of 2016 renovations for the DTC Marriott, rendering half their rooms unusable for the year -- and also due to longstanding demand, Nan Desu Kan is moving hotels and dates! They're moving to the Sheraton Denver Downtown, and the best weekend they could get for the next three years is the first weekend of September, which this year is Friday, September 4 through Sunday, December 6.
Honestly, I wonder how these DTC Marriott renovations are also gonna affect StarFest & Rocky Mountain Fur Con in 2016. I know Rocky Mountain Fur Con still has plenty of room to grow into the hotel, so they may be able to weather it -- but StarFest is another huge con. That, and I know in general the DTC Marriott changed management last year (I think), and I remember hearing stories about some less-than-pleasant stories about that: I know some of you weren't happy with how you were cheated out of your room by their overselling, and were initially offered raw deals for alternate staying options.
A shame, cause I do have a lot of good memories from that hotel, even though, yeah, I do agree that it is getting too crowded for the larger cons.
Well -- if you'll be at an event that I'll be at, hope to see you there! Or if not, hope to see you at another event!

All kinds, but with a preference toward danceable ones. Any kind of setting, too: sidewalks, ballrooms, raves, and (hopefully!) bluegrass festivals.

I'm up for a lot of silly live ones! Also been big on certain VG franchises & indies, though I've been doing much more fan'ing than playing lately.

"Older" doesn't necessarily mean "wiser." Never let your pride get in the way of learning from those who are much younger than you.
