2/28 A.Wasabi, 3/7 Paws@Pearl (ok'd!), Weasyl, & NDK move!
Hey y'all!
So, really quickly, I just wanted to let y'all know that I'll be at Animeland Wasabi for at least this Saturday! Not necessarily for the con itself, but I did have loads of fun being rowdy with a bunch of other fursuiters last year -- so even if this year is gonna be at a significantly smaller hotel, hopefully I'll be able to have fun in a big group again! [I pre-reg'd for the weekend, and I might stop by other times since it's close by -- but otherwise Saturday is really gonna be the main day.]
I'll be getting there hopefully some time between 4:00 & 5:00 PM, due to work earlier in the day. At that time -- well, hopefully I'll be able to find parking; I know we AW attendees collectively tend to pack any place, no matter the size of the hotel. I'll probably pick up dinner and eat it at the hotel, walk around out of suit for a while, saying hi to cosplayer friends and the like, locate other suiters, and then I'll be getting into suit myself! [Still deciding who to suit as.]
Also, regarding Paws at Pearl on Saturday, March 7 -- I was planning on making it, but it turns out that my work is gonna need me that day. I'm gonna see if my boss would be okay with me only working until 11:00 AM, so that I can be there by noon -- but, no guarantee on that. If I can't make it for the suiting portion, then I'll at least try seeing if I can join up for post-suiting hangouts.
[I know Kodywulf has set up a backup date of 3/21 in case of inclement weather, but sadly I know I'll be working a full day then!]
[For anyone who has yet to see the Meetup listing, you can find it here!]
[ UPDATE 2015.2.26: Got the okay from my boss, and so I'll be there! ]
And, I'm finally starting to get a bit more active on my Weasyl account! I, uh, finally uploaded to Weasyl the single photo I've had on FA. [I really should upload more.]
I'm trying to figure out the best way to do this; I think I might upload thumbnails to here, and full pics to there, to get more traffic there, but also to not have to deal with the 1280x1280 restriction. For journal entries though, I think I might crosspost them -- though, lemme tell you, it'd be nice to have more than 60 characters available for a journal title like FA provides.
But yeah, here's where I'm at on Weasyl!
Oh, and one more thing! I think a lot of people watching already know, but in case anyone doesn't -- due to the sudden announcement of 2016 renovations for the DTC Marriott, rendering half their rooms unusable for the year -- and also due to longstanding demand, Nan Desu Kan is moving hotels and dates! They're moving to the Sheraton Denver Downtown, and the best weekend they could get for the next three years is the first weekend of September, which this year is Friday, September 4 through Sunday, December 6.
Honestly, I wonder how these DTC Marriott renovations are also gonna affect StarFest & Rocky Mountain Fur Con in 2016. I know Rocky Mountain Fur Con still has plenty of room to grow into the hotel, so they may be able to weather it -- but StarFest is another huge con. That, and I know in general the DTC Marriott changed management last year (I think), and I remember hearing stories about some less-than-pleasant stories about that: I know some of you weren't happy with how you were cheated out of your room by their overselling, and were initially offered raw deals for alternate staying options.
A shame, cause I do have a lot of good memories from that hotel, even though, yeah, I do agree that it is getting too crowded for the larger cons.
Well -- if you'll be at an event that I'll be at, hope to see you there! Or if not, hope to see you at another event!

I know on that day that I won't be done with work until around 6:00 PM, so I definitely wouldn't be able to do Paws at Pearl if rescheduled. But, safety is of utmost importance, so if it does happen to snow too hard on Saturday 3/7, I'd still greatly agree with moving the date for everyone else who's able to make it.
Even so, I was able to make a Meetup account and upload a profile image directly to it.
Regardless, though, this event doesn't actually require an RSVP -- so if you need, I can post another reply here with details of the event!
Have fun at Wasabi, and I hope to see you at Paws at Pearl! We're likely going to get fresh baked cookies afterward. :D
Of course, this'll depend on whether my boss is okay with me working just part of the morning! I've sent her an e-mail with the request, at least.
Huh, will have to keep an eye on RMFC's media. Thanks!
So that should work out! (Hoping it'll fit us all!)
