Penny 'Preppy' Marshmouse wants to someday attend Marshquette University where her great great grandfather Professor Maximus Marshmouse once taught.
First she must graduate from Dragonfly High, the marshland prep school on the other side of the wild and dangerous Boggy Swamp.
Every day she walks from her home in the marsh to Dragonfly High, carefully trying to make her way past the perilous obstacles that await her in the swamp:
Marsh Quicksand, caused by wandering swamp currents, which can suddenly bubble up anywhere without warning.
Gallows Vines, whose long hanging tendrils snare the unlucky passerby, wrapping them up in its tight green coils.
The dreaded Goo Plant, which spills a thick, gluey substance at the slightest touch, sealing its victims in a suffocating mass of soft, sticky gum.
And in the middle of these treacherous swamp perils hides Swampsnake, a constrictor who attends his own kind of 'school'... knowing that Penny Marshmouse must cross Boggy Swamp every day, Swampsnake uses her to practice his snake-skills of stalking, catching and squeezing. When he is sly and quick enough to catch her, he entwines her in his coils and squeezes the daylights out of her, leaving her to wake up and stagger off late to classes.
Every day has 'Finals' waiting for Preppy Marshmouse!

This is only the second Journal entry I've written since joining over 2 years ago. Today I need to say something about how I deal with my artistic "boundaries" when it comes to favoring other artists here at FurAffinity.
There is Japanese-style "DID" art that I like, and my drawings show what kind I like to draw. I also draw DID art that you never see done in Japan, since it seems that nobody over there cares about quicksand (bummer).
There is also art drawn for Japanese fans living in Japan and other Asian countries that I would definitely never draw.
I try to pay attention to what my FurAffinity friends are drawing when I add their work to my Favorites collection. Some have drawn pictures that are more "adult" than I would draw myself, but nothing that I thought were extreme enough to avoid.
But when a friend posts drawings that I think are too extreme, then I need to take down all their links from my Favorites collection. This is because I feel that the limits I set for myself need to apply to what I endorse here at my own site, at least until the artist has a change of heart about what they display to others.
There are other characters I've created that may/perhaps/someday be marketed mainstream. For this and my own subjective boundaries, my Favorites collection needs to be consistent with what I would draw myself if I had the talent.
