What would you do if you needed to find an artist that seemingly disappeared? I have a screenshot of an original species rules page from February of 2023, but I can't find the artist who created it (the image has their username in the screenshot, but all their accounts are either gone or have had a username change). I just want to make sure that the species hasn't been closed or anything before I create an oc of them.

I've tried reverse image searching the species page, but nothing came up. At the last furcon I went to, I asked some people if they recognized the art style or the species (if I remember correctly, the artist was pretty popular on instagram, so I was hoping that the species wasn't as obscure as I thought) but nobody did.

The species is called "phases" and it's a bird/bat-like creature based on the moon. Does anybody have information on them/the artist who made them?

A more fun question: Since the rules page says they're an open species, and they don't seem to be well-known, would creating a character of it count as preserving an endangered original species? Someone at Golden State Fur Con brought this up and I thought it was pretty funny lol
