A lot has been happening over the past couple of months, so let's update!
I've been a little quiet on the details of some of my medical stuff, but I'm ready to share one aspect of it.
As I've mentioned before, I've been adjusting to multiple new medication. Not just for my physical health, but for my mental health.
While I'm not really secretive about it, I don't typically talk about my mental health. I know for some of you this might come as a surprise. For others, you're already aware.
Recently I have gotten back into therapy, as my anxiety problems have kinda gotten a bit out of hand, and I no longer could manage it on my own.
I spent months in this constant state of anxiety, and it was effecting my daily life to such an extreme that I could barely function anymore.
So I went in to get re-evaluated for my mental health.
Now it's not really been a secret, some of you know I've been considered Bipolar II ever since I was in my late teens. However, years of being unmedicated has led to it progressively getting worse over the past couple years in particular. Because of that, I was recently updated to Bipolar I.
Turns out my constant anxiety over the course of six months was actually a really bad mania swing. Who knew. Lol. But in my defense, it's hard to tell when you have PTSD and Panic Disorder on top of it all.
Now, the good news is that I was put on medication that actually helped me nearly instantaneously. I got really lucky with finding the right medication. So I'm a lot calmer, and the constant anxiety has pretty much vanished. I'm slowly getting to a point where I feel functional again.
The bad news is, man, this medication makes me so tired. I've only recently managed to arrange my medication schedule to better fit my desired sleep schedule, but this medication usually causes me to need to nap once or twice through the day. It's why I haven't been ready to take on regular commissions, though I have been accepting one here and there to work on when I am not in zombie mode. Lol
But over all, I am doing much better, and I'm happy I am on something that makes it easier for me to function. Even if it does make me tired.
So mentally, I am doing a lot better.
As for when I'll be ready to open for regular commissions, I'd say right now I'm going to be on an "Ask Me" basis, until I feel I'm fully ready to open up again. Mostly to just make sure I'm not overwhelmed while I'm still adjusting to medication.
