why oh why MSI... -.-
well my faithful hand built computer didnt like being left in storage as i moved from my previous house to my sisters for a short while to my new home..
i even bought a pelican Padded toat case for it while in storage.. well pulled it out powered it up ran ok, or so i thought and yeah something told me to check the harddrives.. yep master drive went cya -.- tossing smarts left right and center for having to constantly re-read sectors. meh so i go out and buy a new drive.. knowing the drive still boots and works I cloned it to my new harddrive.. being the original drive had issues i knew some programs would be broken and have to be reinstalled... one program i used was MSI's (MicroStar international) control suite software so i can monitor the motherboard well that program was bad so i went to the website and could not find it anywhere i could find Control Panel but not the program i wanted so of course i called they said oh go here download this program and run it... well i did seeing its from the company who built my motherboard.. uhmm "Bad Idea" just doesn't sum it up.. so i run it and go ok live update sounds ok seeing the programs for the motherboard were all original installs from the disk (which i misplaced and could not find) i get back and my screen is all knackered i stand there and just watch my computer die because live update took it upon itself to update my motherboards BIOS!! -.- windows and bios updates for the majority of the people is death to a computer which in my case.. happened.. ever since that day the computer would not stay running and would just flat out just die... goes from perfectly fine to bang black screen then off.. before i found out it was the liveupdate that broke the computer i thought maybe my ram went bad, tested with memtest. nupe.. maybe video cards tested in another computer. all 3 worked fine i pulled the harddrives and tested them on another system all scandisks cameback clean even windows itself said the installed version of windows 7 on the drive was perfectly fine...
>.< here is where i find out that some companies dont care about your computer and risk the destruction of it.. you know the 2 out of 10 break type thing.. yeah they did that and ADMITTED that liveupdate breaks computers and they don't care one bit..
either way i pulled an ace out of my hat and stuffed the motherboard up MSI's nose and said RMA it its under warranty until February 3rd 2016 xD
now seeing my computer is buggered, i said meh i may aswell upgrade, then said meh may aswell make the case look a little nicer so took the case stripped it bare and painted it.. yeah i kinda took some peoples ideas off the net including the Limited Edition version made by cooler master themselves (AMD Edition)
may aswell upgrade the harddrives, the ram the motherboard seeing MSI is a bunch of pompus dinks..
while everythings apart i strip down my 3 video cards and replace the heat transfer pads and thermal paste which on 2 were dry and powdery xD

all and all my final words are be weary about anything that is an updater.. run the program and go through the steps slowly and try to find out what it updates in my case there was no warning that it would be fouling around with my Bios.. my MSI board is out sent back when i get it back im going to flog it off on Ebay, same with the old Corsair XMS ram and the old FX6300 6-core processor.
