Some Thoughts (G)
Hi everyone!
I went through and updated a lot of little things throughout my FA page. Although it seems like I donโt use it all that often, I feel like I check back here all the time. Moreover, itโs the site Iโve used the longest by far. My account before this one was made in 2014, so thereโs a lot of nostalgic value to me here. Something Iโve always liked to see are journals, though I never wrote any myself. Itโs something thatโs carried over from MySpace-era net, while now I suppose people prefer to put their random buzz-musings on Twitter, or even something like an Instagram story. I feel like thereโs a dash of irony to writing on those platforms, though. If you write long-forme, youโre a rambler with too much to say. Old websites (or those that keep their sentiments alive) have a dedicated place for journals! Itโs strangeโmaybe people donโt like to write as much, or they find it antisocial or embarrassing. Call me a social media purist. I could do this shit all day.
It was nice to think through some things, I even went back through my favorites. What a trip! I like contextualizing what art I tend to favorite through a sensory lens. I like art that is fluffy, toothy, usually I can place a scent or texture to it. It made me really happy to see all the old pieces I still really love. Iโm happy that I could meet many of these artists in-person at Anthrocon. It made all the difference to say thank-you in person, or even buy some physical art if I was lucky! As much as my tastes change, they stay the same. Seeing art is different than feeling it, I am here for both. As much as I love to look, being around suiters, being at a musical performance (I Made Too Much Pasta) and being bombarded with peopleโs outpour of love for one another keeps me around. I always say I wish people wrote more about their furry experienceโ maybe I will too, when I have something to say from now on. This place keeps me chugging. Iโm always drawing, for as sporadic as I upload (finishing and sketching are me on two very different wavelengths).
If you see this, I wonder how long youโve been following me! Iโm not a person with a lot of orbiters, but I cherish everyone I know. Meeting new furry friends has been very exciting. Maybe thatโs how we met? Though a bit clunkier, I like to follow people Iโve met here, too, just as I do on Twitter. I feel itโs really charming, and I love looking at everyoneโs art and characters. I hope by my next journal Iโd have done more art, have made more friends, and made the friends I have now smile a whole bunch.
