My Avatar Icon was made from a commissioned sketch from
foxenawolf then cropped, and reduced with Gimp 2.6 by myself. The original was in payment for some patches that I made for her. I found the original lost card, placed it in a protective shell. The original can be seen in favorites.
Ginger Scissors too many to list. If it's sharp and shiny, I've got to have it. A Companion Serge Mate 4350D Four thread Overlock Serger. A finished edge that lasts. My workhorse, A Singer 503a Rocketeer Sewing Machine. Direct Drive, no belt to slip in this one. It eats silk, cotton, linen, canvas, leather, and fingers if it can get them. If a compatible attachment is made, I probably have it. My Decorative machine is the Singer CE-200 Single thread Embroidery machine, if it still works. I still have the Aztek Airbrush Super Set A7777 but still have not used it. Just added a 3018 CNC milling machine with a 3 watt laser attachment but am having a time linking it to the computer. It is made for Windows but I am currently running Linux. The best toy so far is my new Ender 3 Pro 3D printer. I found thingiverse.com and am upgrading the machine to print four types of plastic. I am learning to render 3D objects and slice them for printing. I see a lot of prop potential and may proof of concept proto a battle bot that I designed decades ago. Lots of toys, but what I need is more space and time. Where is a T.A.R.D.I.S. when you need one?
Pictures of my projects and crafts will be posted to http://www.flickr.com/photos/stray_black_cat/ as I complete them. Sadly nothing new at the moment.
I was motivated to join this group after seeing Monoyashas Kira Tiger http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4600307/ . I didn't take the concept of Furries seriously until I stumbled across her Kira video on YouTube. I started looking extensively into the craft to figure out how she built it. I have since been collecting reference videos and tutorials to compare techniques. I think I can now take on an ultra-real project and hope to have something I'm satisfied with for Anthrocon or FWA 2014. I do need to work on my drawing skills which currently stand at 0.
I know it's backwards but I have already started construction but have not yet made a reference sheet. At the moment my Pirate Characters name is Stray. He will be a Clouded Leopard Hybrid. A history/story has been made but I have not posted it yet. I am also considering another personality to pursue, a Samurai. My 3D printer should shine here. I may do costuming for both as they represent distinctly different moods and uniquely different crafts . I have already started the planning the special effects on the head but not the digitigrade stilts, two main obstacles. I liked Monoyashas Werewolf http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4488966/ , but the stilts design puts stresses on the knees that must be addressed. She got her design on a website. I want to design my own with extended support for more stable movement.
Under construction, Will add more when I have more available. Note to myself: Add names and site icons of realistic artists found so far.
Since I am still researching construction techniques I have decided to made a section on construction success tips. Many are common but if any are unusual I will try and credit the source.
E-6000 contains Tetrachloroethylene (Perchlorethylene) which is not compatible with acrylic or poly-carbonate, it attacks the plastic and weakens the structural integrity.
The Plastic/Chemical compatibility chart Link is dead. Another sample reference is http://www.holophane.com/hlp_librar.....es/HL-2445.pdf
E-6000's MSDS http://www.tapplastics.com/uploads/.....S%20E-6000.pdf
Duct-tape pattern only half the form, then reverse the tape pattern for the other side. This makes the final result symmetrical and balanced.

Time Bubble
Like stepping into a time bubble. Started working with another computer that was more suitable for work and basically forgot about this site and this netbook. I had hinged the leopard jaw but was not satisfied with movement so I boxed it. I recently found my computer tucked away in a corner and was surprised it still works. With it was the unfinished head. It took a little time to unlock my dormant account but I'm back. Just broke the jaw and will be moving the hinge further back for better motion. I just need to find a better plastic as the clear plastic I had used had poor adhesion with the epoxy. I just noticed that I failed to photograph the current stage of the head so I will try to do that before continuing. Other than the eyes fogging and warping, all the other parts are just as I left them. I look forward to continuing this project.
